Sh*t Did I say that out loud?

Seeing Y/N flustered, Lee Hyun voiced, "Yeah, Miss Bae. It's Boss's birthday. However, You don't have to panic. We don't do anything special. It's just like any other normal day. It's just.."

"It's just what?" You turn to look at him.

"Madam Kim always visits the day after this special occasion and does something special."

"Special like throwing a party?"

"Maybe. Last year there was a cruise party for everyone. Two years before, she gave a holiday for everyone and an extra raise. Three years ago was the most beautiful one. She literally distributed brooches to everyone personally."

You become appalled by his words. "Everyone? There are like thousands of employees in the company.. Is Madam Kim a superwoman or something?"

Lee Hyun peers at you for a moment before bursting into laughter, "Miss Bae, you sure are funny."

"Ah..?" You tilt your head, confused. 

"Madam Kim wanted to, but Boss directly refused. Even so, she managed to do it with the help of staff. Indirectly, it was her personally distributing so it doesn't make any difference."

You nod your head ultimately understanding his words. Cupping your face, you stare at him before asking:

"Is that so? Madam Kim is really kind. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have gotten this job. Still, going empty-handed knowing it's Big Boss' birthday sounds so wrong. Have you prepared anything for him?"

"Me? It's not like I don't want to. He just doesn't like anything I give him. He will just tell me to put it in the drawers. And guess what? The gifts are just piled up until now. I am just glad he didn't throw it."

"Really? Now, I don't want to give him anything. Maybe a bouquet will be fine."

"No, don't."

"?!"

"Sorry for startling you but it's better if you buy nothing. You will know why once we head to the office. And.. here we are." 

As he speaks, he parks the car. Getting out of the car, You took a deep breath looking at the tall building in front of you.

'Kim Enterprises! Here I come.' You make up your mind in determination.

 "Thank you for giving me a ride, Sir." You bow to him in gratitude.

Lee Hyun waves his hands, "I was just helping a fellow co-worker, there is no need to be so formal. Since we are heading in the same direction, Shall we head there together?"

"Okay."

"Good morning, Sir Lee."

"Good morning, Secretary Lee." 

As you walk with Lee Hyun, the employees passing by greets him. You can also feel some piercing glare coming from some bunch of female employees.

"Good morning." Lee Hyun answers every greeting enthusiastically. 

Walking inside the lift, He presses the button to his office.

There was an unusual silence inside the lift. 

'Should I ask something?' You think as the atmosphere becomes more awkward as time ticks by.

"Sir!" "Miss Bae!"

You both speak at the same time. Your eyes lock, then you burst into soft giggles.

"Miss Bae, Ladies first." 

"Ah, It's not that important. I was just curious about what I will get to do today?" 

Lee Hyun replies with a smile " I can see Miss Bae's determination to learn everything she can today, huh?"

Since that was kinda your intention, you nod your head, your eyes shine with resolution:

" Yeah, I am an amateur when it comes to working in offices. But, I believe that we all need to start from somewhere. I don't want everyone to call me a** kisser- *Gasp* Sh*t! Did I say that out loud? What Sh*t?! No, I didn't mean- Ugh!"

You drag yourself to the corner of the lift and turn around to face it.

 Firmly banging your head in embarrassment, you mumble " What is going on? Why am I messing things up? Lord, I straight out swore in front of my boss..In my da*n first day of work. Why?"

While you were muttering to yourself, Lee Hyun glanced at your back. He wanted to call you but stopped. He cleared his throat to distract you. 

*Ahem*

You instantly turn around, your posture straight like you are going to start marching soon.

"Miss     Bae."

"Yes, Sir!" You walk up to him and salute him.

"??" Lee Hyun blinks his eyes, you blink your eyes. While you two were playing a blinking game, the lift door opened.

The Ding sound makes you both flinch in surprise. No longer wanting to be more awkward, you both walk towards the office.

"Woah! What is all this?" You couldn't help but gasp at the sight in front of you.

The whole office was filled with flower bouquets. It would be a lie to say it didn't look like a flower garden.

"Miss Bae, This is the reason I didn't want you to buy anything especially, Bouquets." Lee Hyun chuckled at your reaction.

You walk forward, leaning a little down, you pick up the letter inside the bouquet but before you read you look at Lee Hyun "Sorry, I am really nosy type. Still, I am curious. Can I just read one?"

He approved without any hesitation " Go ahead, He won't be seeing them anyway."

You eagerly open the small piece of letter, only to be wide-eyed bewildered.

(My dear handsome Boss, Happy birthday. I have had a crush on you since the day I saw you. Do you remember that day when our eyes met? I was wearing your favourite colour dress. Hope I left some impression on you. I won't leave my name in this letter, but if our fated love is true, you will surely find me. Forever yours.)
