I'll Find You

CASTYR'S POV

Miren cries out as she is shot in the arm, but she continues firing as more security rushes through the doors. Some engage in combat with Kilo while others back up the ones fighting Miren and me.

The new guards bring out a blaster. Miren's eyes grow wide as the blaster is aimed toward our column. She takes my hand, and we sprint away from the column as the blaster is fired.

The column explodes, and we fall from the force. Surprisingly, no shards or chunks of the column fall on us. I open my eyes to see one of the officers from the lower level covering us with a shield and his outstretched wings.

"Star Castyr, are you alright?" The angel turns to me as his white wings disappear.

I nod. "Thank you."

The angel helps me to my feet before he teleports in front of the security and defeats them with his sword in one fluid motion. Miren stares in awe.

A cry from Kilo rings through my ears. I look to see Kilo gripping his side. Blood runs between his fingers. His wound ripped open! The white-winged angel races to me and holds me by the waist as I start toward Kilo.

"You can't go! It's too dangerous!" The angel warns in my ear.

The doors bang open as the officer's partner accesses the roof with ten demons pursuing him. The warrior joins Kilo on the front lines. He fights his way to Kilo just in time to defend him from a deadly strike. The officer turns and looks at the angel holding me. He closes his eyes as he nods his head solemnly; yet a small, sad smile comes to his lips as he gazes at the angel. Kilo also takes a moment to turn.

"Kilo." My breath hitches as I gaze at those purple eyes.

He glances at me momentarily before blocking a blow from a demon's spear.

The angel tightens his grasp on me as his partner fights to keep the demons from pursuing us. A few break through the two angels and rush towards us. The angel sets me down as he faces the two demons. As soon as I am released, I instantly set my eyes on my angel.

I find him to a demon sneaking up on Kilo, making my heart stop. I do not even think twice before leaving the white-winged angel and running to Kilo. I sprint to reach him in time, pushing my body to its limit. I wrap myself around Kilo as the demon raises his weapon, closing my eyes as the weapon falls.

In the split of a second, a white light surrounds us. The weapon shatters as it hits the light, and the surrounding demons are thrown in the air. My knees grow weak from the sudden loss of energy. Kilo catches me as I fall.

"Castyr!"

I look up to see his purple eyes and sigh with relief. I made it in time.

The breaking of doors makes Kilo swing his head to the entryway. Twenty demons enter the stairway to the top floor. Kilo looks around frantically. He spots the officer who helped me and pleads with him.

"Please save him!" Tears stream down Kilo's face. He looks down at me and places his hand on my cheek. "I'll find you."

"Kilo." My eyes swell with tears as Kilo hands me to the angel. Desperation to stay engulfs me, but I am too weak to do anything. I cannot even keep my hold on Kilo's hand. A pain strikes my heart as my fingers leave his hand, stretching out desperately to reach him.

The tall angel holds me in his arms as he turns to his partner. Blood stains his face as he makes eye contact with his angel.

The officer nods. "Go. Protect the star."

A tear runs down his face. "Rae-" The growling of demons entering the floor cuts him off.

"Go!" The officer shouts as he readies his sword.

Kilo stands to his feet and joins the officer. I hear the angel sniffle before he turns around. Miren joins us and fires at the approaching demons. The human shuts the door of the transport as she and the angel board. The angel sets me in a seat before sealing the door to the transport. I instantly look out the window at the swarm of demons.

"How do you pilot this thing?!" Miren asks desperately as she frantically looks around for a control center.

"Telekinesis." The angel takes a deep breath and closes his eyes.

The transport begins moving as the angel concentrates. I look for Kilo among the demons. I finally find him as the compartment moves towards the opening in the tower's side. I cover my mouth with my hands to stifle the cries as I watch a demon thrust his sword into Kilo's gut. Blood spews out of his mouth as he drops to his knees. The officer is also overcome as the compartment arrives at the exit.

The angel's ears move slightly as they hear the sound of the officer's cries. He clenches his jaw as a fresh tear runs down his face.

The last thing I see is Kilo's body on the floor in a pool of blood before the compartment exits the tower.

"Kilo!" My voice fails me as I call out my angel's name. I choke on tears as the transport picks up speed and enters Earth's atmosphere.
