KILO'S POV

I sink into the bed as the door clicks shut and release a breath. The soup from Miren helped me gain a lot of my strength back, so I decide to take a shower. I swing my legs over the side of the bed and set my feet on the ground. However, I stop myself from standing as an uneasiness enters my stomach. I do not want to leave Castyr alone even if it will be just a few minutes, so I pick him up and carry him to the bathroom. We are going to have a bath.

I fill the tub before carefully removing Castyr's clothes. Leaning the star against my chest in the warm water, I begin to bathe the both of us. Castyr's breathing remains stable throughout the bath. He even seems to relax with my touch, especially when I wash his hair. I move my hand down from the star's head and rest it on his heart. Tears touch my eyes as I feel Castyr's slow and steady heartbeat. Leaning down, I kiss the top of the star's head before wrapping my arms around his body and holding him closely.

After gently cleaning our bodies and removing the remaining blood stains, I lift Castyr from the tub and wrap him in one of the bath robes folded on the counter. I change into one of the fresh sets of clothes brought by Miren and towel dry my hair before blow drying Castyr's hair and changing him to the second set of clothes.

We sleep for three hours before Miren knocks on the door. I put our hats and masks back on before lifting Castyr in my arms and following Miren down the hall. The human leads us to the roof where a space craft is stationed. The sun has already gone down, so the stars shine brightly.

"The destination is already set for Mythos. There is food and water as well as pillows and blankets. It is a seven day journey and is straight through. No stops," Miren informs me as we near the craft. "This flight is completely off the record. No one knows you are leaving except me."

I nod in thanks.

"The code for the house is 2264826."

I memorize the code as I step ahead of the human and approach the craft.

"Stay safe, Kilo," Miren bids as I enter the craft.

"Thank Devyn for me?" I ask, turning around to nod farewell.

"Of course," Miren smiles as she watches Castyr and I disappear into the craft.

I set Castyr in the co-pilot's chair before closing the door and lifting off. Once we leave Borum's atmosphere and the course is set, I take the blankets and pillows provided by Miren and make a nest-like bed on the ground just behind the control center. After making sure it is comfortable, I lie Castyr in the nest before wrapping my wings around us and beginning the cycle of the energy bubble.

"We're almost there, Castyr," I encourage the star softly, planting a kiss on the top of his head. "Just a few more days."

I nestle Castyr's head under my chin and pull him in before closing my eyes and focusing all my energy into the cycle.
