Before awakening his martial spirit, Lin Luo knew that his current strength could only rely on the rewards from the side quests. So, accumulating raffle points was the most crucial thing for him to do right now.
The next morning.
After feeding Lin Luo, Qian Renxue left the room to discuss the plan to heal Qian Daoliu and the others with Guang Ling and a few others.
For Qian Renxue, getting the elders of Spirit Hall to acknowledge Lin Luo's existence was the most pressing matter. As the future leader of Spirit Hall, her child had to have rightful claims and inheritance.
She had to fight for her baby.
Lin Luo, now lying alone in his bed, wore a brand-new outfit. It was handwoven by Qian Renxue herself and fit surprisingly well.
[Accumulated Raffle Points: 500]
After a full round of eating, drinking, and other necessities, Lin Luo had finally saved up enough points for a raffle draw.
Without hesitation, he activated it!
[You have consumed 500 points. Starting the raffle…]
[Note: Most rewards are "one-time use" or "thank you for participating." Every 10 draws guarantees a limited-time reward, and every 90 draws guarantees a permanent reward.]
[Raffle complete!]
[Congratulations! You have received a one-time reward!]
[Reward name: Group Weakening Skill]
[Description: When used, this skill allows you to weaken up to 20 people, leaving them in a weakened state for half a minute.]
A one-time reward meant exactly that—it could only be used once. The skill was essentially just a scare tactic for now since even if Lin Luo weakened his opponents, he had no means of attacking them.
But it wasn't too bad considering it was earned from doing something as simple as eating and using the bathroom. Now, though, his raffle points were back to zero, so he needed to accumulate more.
Lin Luo recalled that turning over for the first time would earn him 500 points.
"Hmph, turning over? How hard could that be?"
He tried lifting his little arms and legs, wiggling his body on the bed. Three, two, one… turn!
"Wah!"
Instead of rolling over, Lin Luo only let out an adorable, soft coo. His body didn't budge an inch…
"Turning over is this difficult? Unbelievable!"
The frustration was real for the mighty God King Lin Luo.
He made a few more attempts but with the same result. Just then, the door opened, and Qian Renxue entered the room.
"Wow, playing so happily on your own?" Qian Renxue was pleasantly surprised. She had expected the baby to be crying in her absence.
Jones Grandma had already begun treating Qian Daoliu and the others, and Qian Renxue knew they'd be fully recovered soon, as their injuries weren't too severe.
Sitting by the bed, Qian Renxue picked Lin Luo up and placed him on her soft, snowy-white lap. She smiled down at him. "Time to give you a name!"
"What should I name you?"
Qian Renxue tilted her head in thought, hugging Lin Luo as she pondered.
She couldn't let anyone know that this was her child. Not in Spirit Hall, and definitely not in Heaven Dou Empire either. So, her baby couldn't bear the surname Qian.
With this in mind, Qian Renxue quickly grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down several characters she liked. She then closed her eyes, moved Lin Luo's tiny finger across the page, and picked a character at random.
"First character—stop!"
Qian Renxue opened her eyes and saw that the finger had stopped on the character "Lin."
She closed her eyes again and moved the finger once more. "Now for the second character… Let's see…"
Lin Luo was in disbelief, watching in astonishment as Qian Renxue guided his finger. Finally, it stopped on the character "Luo."
"Stop!"
Qian Renxue opened her eyes and blinked a few times.
"Luo… Lin Luo?"
Lin Luo was stunned. Was this destiny at work?
Otherwise, how could it be such a perfect coincidence?
Qian Renxue giggled, "Then it's settled. You'll be called Lin Luo, little Luo Luo."
"Yiya~" Lin Luo cooed.
At that moment, the door was knocked, and She Long entered with a stern look on his face.
"Your Highness, the Pope and the Grand Priest have woken up…"
Qian Renxue cradled Lin Luo in her arms and noticed the expression on She Long's face—it was clear her grandfather hadn't yet given up on the idea of killing Lin Luo.
"Got it," she said, standing up.
She whispered, as if to herself or perhaps to Lin Luo, "Mommy will fight for you to have a place in Spirit Hall."
…
In the spacious Pope's Palace.
All the high-ranking members of Spirit Hall had gathered. As someone entered from the hall's entrance, Qian Daoliu raised his head, his face expressionless and icy.
His deep voice echoed, "Where is the child's father? Wasn't it said that the one who attacked us was his biological father?"
Qian Renxue looked at Guang Ling and knew the Excelsior Douluo had already informed Qian Daoliu and the others with the excuse of a "biological father attacking."
With a calm demeanor, she replied, "Yes, and that's why you cannot kill my child. If you do, be prepared to face the consequences."
Qian Daoliu's eyes flickered momentarily as he recalled that terrifying scene from before.
It was, without question, the most overwhelming power he had ever encountered in his life.
But he still didn't believe that someone so strong would attack without daring to reveal their identity as the child's father.
It made no sense.
Besides, he was the child's grandfather—would that man really dare to kill him?
Bibi Dong, standing nearby, remained silent. Having suffered twice already, she feared the child far more than anyone else, including the mysterious "father."
Qian Daoliu began to walk forward, his soul power subtly leaking out as he spoke.
"I, Qian Daoliu, have never been one to fear death, nor do I cower in the face of strength. A man who dares to strike but hides in the shadows? I have nothing but contempt for such a person."
"Listen carefully, if you are here, show yourself at once, or your child will suffer in your place."
At this, the second enshrined elders exchanged uneasy glances. Qian Daoliu's stubbornness was well-known—he wouldn't back down once he set his mind on something.
Bibi Dong remained coldly silent, almost enjoying the spectacle.
Qian Renxue's heart raced as she held Lin Luo close. Although she stood her ground, she was ready to flee at a moment's notice. She hadn't expected her grandfather to be this obstinate—did he not fear another confrontation like before?
But what Qian Renxue didn't realize was that as much as she cared for Lin Luo, Qian Daoliu cared for her just as deeply.
By now, Guang Ling clenched his fists, preparing to intervene if necessary.
The hall remained eerily quiet, and Qian Daoliu's face grew colder by the second.
"Coward!" he snarled, "If you have the guts, strike me down now, or else don't blame me for—"
In Lin Luo's mind, a quiet command echoed: "Weaken."
An invisible force spread out from him. Suddenly, Qian Daoliu's eyes widened, and his body collapsed without warning.
He fell to the ground, leaving the entire assembly dumbfounded.
Even Qian Renxue was shocked, stepping back with Lin Luo in her arms. "Grandfather…"
"Brother!"
"Grand Priest!"
Everyone behind him was stunned, but Qian Daoliu couldn't even stand, as if his strength had been drained entirely.
Several elders rushed forward to help him, but before they could even touch him, each one cried out in shock and collapsed as well, one after another.
This sudden turn of events left Guang Ling and Qian Renxue completely bewildered.
They blinked, their eyes full of confusion, unable to make sense of what had just happened.
Meanwhile, Lin Luo, snug in his swaddling clothes, quietly thought to himself: Well, looks like that reward came in handy.
