You'll Be Gone

"Yes!" Jash replied, still leaning back in his seat.

Tiberius smiled and asked, "Very well. I have a couple of things to share with you, but if you have an urgent question, I'll do my best to answer that first."

"Both emperors are really coming to Frantoch?!"

Nodding to his private pupil, Tiberius explained, "Yes, that is the case. They should both arrive before a week can pass, I assume."

Jash's eyes lit up with extreme curiosity. "Then, will I get a chance to see them? Or maybe even meet them?"

"No."

That blunt answer, paired with Tiberius's warm and unwavering grin, was jarring to Jash.

Jash quickly refuted, "But why? Can't I at least see them from afar, or something?"

"No, that will be impossible for you, Jash," Tiberius stated. "Because you'll already be gone before either of them arrive at the city gates."
