Kriff's Questioning

Sighing, the masked captain replied, "Depending on what's necessary, I have a few ways I'm allowed to act. One, I can act as if you had attacked that man without just cause and purely based on conjecture and theory, making this a criminal interrogation. Two, should you speak up and answer my questions, I can deem this discussion a civil interrogation necessary to advance through the current case in question. And three, I could have you detained for twenty-four hours for attacking and provoking a civilian with unnecessary force before dragging you back in under a full-blown criminal investigation on your head.

"Which of the three scenarios would you prefer?" asked the masked captain. "Right now, I'm not sure I have a preference. But I'm still considering all my options…"

Kriff kept his calm demeanor, never cracking under the theorized threat.

The two of them sat in silence for three whole minutes. Never looking away from each other or uttering a sound.
