At that moment they sealed everything with a shake and tried to break each other's hands. At the same time, a pile of platinum drits appeared where the house plan once laid.

"It's easier to pay you with platinum than it is in the city," jested Bil.

"Yeah, that's true..." Running his fingers through the coins, Hathon couldn't help but laugh, "That explains why you wanted to buy through me. I take it you'll pay for your renovations the same way?"

"Probably. But that will clear out my savings, so I've got to spend carefully till I've got a way to make money," answered Bil, shrugging.

Hathon took all the money and scribbled something onto a small sheet of paper. "Bring this to Golbert tomorrow and he'll write up the new deed."

"Thank you, Hathon."

Dropping the usual aura Bil had while dealing with people, Bil held out his hand once more. "It's… been too long since I've had an actual friend. There are the kids but that's not the same…"
