Bil's Hopeless Captive

They soon reached the small camp, despite the scout's best efforts.

There, Bil stopped in front of the boulder by the empty firepit. Bil turned and sat himself down. All the while, the captive scout was left in an awkward position.

The scout tried to remain standing, but Bil's hand gripped the scout's mouth and jaw. The scout was forcefully brought down to Bil's level. And when the scout tried to drop to his knees, Bil held him aloft by the scout's restrained arm. Only a moment of wincing pain in his shoulder was necessary before the scout hurried back to his feet.

So, the scout kept his awkward footing while still trying to stab his captor. In the scout's eyes, having awkward footing was better than letting his legs go limp and submitting to the mystery man.

Patient and unconcerned by the knife hitting his side, Bil took a moment to scan the man's unruly uniform.

"... You're a roughneck. From Briston."
