Chapter 1: Accident

Mr. Park! What happened... Why are you driving like this...slow down!!!" Juliet said in a panicked tone to her secretary Mr. Park.

"Ma'am the breaks are not working!! The car is going to crash..!!"

The car was on a mountain highway...The breaks of the car were not working so gradually the car hit on the side wall of the mountain highway..then rolled over breaking the car windows and side railing of the highway.. It was now hanging off the cliff..

After 10 minutes of this incident... One voice was heard.."H-help.... h..elp... Pl-ease... H-help... ".

Duke was very happy today, as he knew that he established his last duty on Earth in his human form with utmost efficiency. He was an "Angel of Virtues", responsible for maintaining the order of the cosmos.

Virtue Angels are powerful Angels of nature with great powers over the elements, they are also referred as "the shining ones." They are capable of doing Miracles as well. They make the human's believe in God stronger.

Like his name's meaning " Leader" he was leading the human world to its destiny, without a single failure for 400 years.

And today after completing his last mission he was going to become one of the "Most Faithful Messengers of the God" as he never failed to do his rightful duties. And after becoming this he would never have to leave the heaven and deal with the "Humans".

Like other " Angels of Virtues " he was always dutiful and righteous towards his actions. But besides his duties, he was exceptionally cold to all the humans because Duke hated how the humans always beg for their long lives and denied to meet their destiny..

For him the destiny chosen by the Almighty for the humans was always right and had a reason..

So, he never felt affection towards humans even after spending too many years in human world.. So, he never felt sorrow or pity as he leaded a lot of human souls out of this world to the eternal path of peace..he never felt emotions towards them..he always resented the human world for their greed of living, money, fame, name, beauty and other materialistic things.. He always thought that in spite of having everything, they wish for more and more..

He was walking on the highway when he heard a very soft voice more likely whispering...

"H-help.... h..elp... Pl-ease... H-help... "

He again thought to himself that he was right about the humans.. A soul that is bound to leave the world was begging for life..

"Huh... Why are they so greedy.. Why they can't just accept their fates!!! "

He was about to leave.. When he heard again.."p-please h-help... him... H-he ne-eds to stay a-alive fo-r his un-born c-child...p-please h-hel-p"

He halted and turn his head towards the car...

This was the first time that someone was begging for one other person's life when she herself was on the verge of death..

He started walking towards the car.. One hand of a girl was hanging out of the car door... She had blood all over her milk white dress while staring outside of the car window... On the driver's seat there was a man in his 30's...wearing black suit resting his head on the steering wheel... Blood covered his face partially...

At first Duke wanted to leave them on that state as it was their fate and they had to accept it..But sometimes it doesn't goes the way it is planned..

Juliet was waving her weak fingers covered in blood towards Duke..as she was calling him..Duke saw her face... She had a deep cut on the right side of her forehead.. Blood was dripping from that wound covering her cheeks but... "She is smiling!!! " Duke exclaimed loudly.. He was dumbfounded.. It was his first time watching a human who is about to die is smiling.."h-hel-p h-him.."

Standing in front of the car..he looked at the girl again who was smiling like she was not afraid of death..The ease in her eyes were telling him **I was waiting for you and I know you will save us**..

He felt an urge to save them despite of their destiny written by the God whom he never resented... It was the first time he was going against his Almighty to fight with these two person's Destiny..

Juliet raised her hand one more time to touch his.. "H-help... "

Duke couldn't help but hold her hand.. The blood on her hand was now on his palms as well.. While holding his hands she closed her eyes with that smile of relief..

The car was hanging dangerously so he thought dragging the whole car was a bit hectic.. So, Duke opened the car door and lifted her in his arms..her head was resting on his chest.. He looked at her face..it was pale but that smile didn't leave her lips.. He placed her on the side of the road and rescued the driver as well..

He called the ambulance as he was still in his human form..

"...Yes on the mountain highway.. Come fast.. The patients are... "

Before he could complete his sentence he held his chest and fell on the ground..
