Fallen Angel

Chapter 9

Down goes my long desire and craving for celestial enormity.

It faded away. My leisure and jolly on Earth continue.

I stood at the hospital where I found my body lying on the bed in the Intensive Care unit.

Audrey sat beside me, hoping I would wake up, she sat with weary eyes and unusual dark circles. Probably she's been crying herself out ever since my departure.

It was painful and nice knowing that there were people who cared this much for me.

I followed LEIR'BAG'S instructions to make contact with my body to possess it.

Immediately I felt doubled and saw Audrey.

"Hey Audie"

She looked at me in a supersonic motion.

In fright and happiness, she sprung up from the chair to hug me.

"Oh my goodness, Hermit you're back!" She screamed delightfully.

"Where did you get those dark circles from?" I asked gazing intently at her eyes.

"Don't worry about me"

We hadn't talked for a minute before Mrs Becky and Naomi came in and they jumped up in amazement.

The whole hospital became a noisy place.

The happiness turned into a frenzy as they all started crying.

We got home after I was discharged, though the doctor requested to run one last test on me but I refused.

I was proven to be hale and hearty by my appearance what use would the test be?

"So tell me where do you want us to hang out?" Audrey uttered as we chatted in the backyard of the house.

"I don't think that would be necessary"

"C'mon Hermit, you've been away for more than 5 months, I just want us to spend time" she persuaded

"It would be great but, all I need now is some time for myself, " I said and walked away.

"You would never change will you?" She asked with a displeased expression.

"It's not like that Audrey, it's for my good, precisely my health," I said and that made her eased.

I went into my room to take a long nap.

Today was like my revival and I needed peace.

From a distance, I could see a villainous smirk and fresh blood emitting the lips of Mephistopheles.

I cringed in fear with the knowledge that I couldn't do anything. He just ate up LEIR'BAG in a whole.

My body wanted to do something but my already broken wings by Leviathan wouldn't give me any chance.

"You were warned, weren't you?" Mephistopheles asked, proceeding to the spot where I lay helpless.

The earth was deserted, even if I couldn't kill these barbarians at least I managed to take the people of earth to safety with the help of other angels of light.

"What do you call a stubborn child that wants a card?" Leviathan asked Mephistopheles

"EL'TOREL KAD!" They laughed and mocked.

"As much as I didn't learn a lot from this soon-to-be obliterated realm, I learned wordplays" Leviathan spoke hysterically.

I sat up grunting and groaning in pain.

"You are a stubborn one"

"I'm granting you one last wish, join our alliance and we shall rule the world"

"Not when I'm alive" I choked out

Then, in goes Mephistopheles's metal angelic sword into my eyeballs, detaching my eyeballs from its socket.

"Arrrghhh!" I yelled from my sleep.

"What's wrong? you were screaming?" Mrs. Becky asked solicitously

Then I realized it was a dream.

What a relief.

"It was nothing just a bad dream"

"Ohh, alright"

"By the way a lady kept on calling your phone while you were in a coma," she informed

"What's her name?"

"I think Stacey or Stella," she said unconcerned.

"Here's your phone" She, therefore handed the phone over to me and went away.

I dialed Stacey's number immediately after seeing 345 missed calls.

The phone ranged for a few seconds before she picked up.

"Hello Stacey"

"Oh my God!!, Hermit, where have you been?" She voiced out petrified I could feel her quaking from here.

"Okay I'll come by your house and I'll explain everything to you," I said

"Please hurry up"

I laughed and felt joy crawl into my heart once again.

I alighted from the taxi and paid the driver.

Having done that, I picked up my phone and called her to come out.

"Why don't you want to come in?"

"I can remember the last incident that occurred when I entered"

"That was five months ago, my parents have forgotten," she said

"To save you troubles just come out"

"Okay alright, I'm coming" she drawled

A few minutes later she was out.

Even though she was putting on a regular outfit she still looked stunning as ever.

Her facial features were nothing compared to rare beauty.

She was like an embodiment of insane pulchritude.

She welcomed me with a very tight hug.

"I've missed you so much"

"I've missed you too"

"I almost thought you ditched me because of the accident you had with Bryan and my parents."

"Oh no, it wasn't that" I assured her to confine any more insecurities.

"So what happened?" She asked as we slowly strolled on the streets.

"It was a picnic with my family and we were having fun, eating cupcakes, and the next thing you know I went boom! on the floor"

"Damn! That must be terrific"

"It is," I remarked

"But were you having any health issues?" She pressed on

"No, I didn't" I replied plainly without any emotion

"Were you in any way taking any hard substance?" She inquisitively questioned.

I was amazed by such inquisitiveness and curiosity.

"No"

"Then what possibly made you slump and went into a coma for 5 months?"

The time range was indeed rapid though the time I spent in space and heaven wasn't that long but it covered five months here on Earth.

"I don't know"

To stop her never-ending questions I decided to hold her by her waist to make her feel more comfortable and forget the rest.

"I love you, Hermit," she said suddenly grinning sheepishly

I gave no response to avoid any public attraction.

"Let's go get some popsicles" I suggested.

We got to a nearby mall by which on its corner the popsicles were sold.

On our way, we met a couple of guys who I presumed were gangsters having a huge fight that broke into a frenzy. The staccato of gunshots was resounding in the place. The whole place became rowdy and disorganized. Everyone began to run for their lives.

"Do you think we should run?" Stacey asked me

"Running would only make us seem like the bad guys," I told her observing the area then I started hearing police sirens.

"They're here let's go get help," Stacey said and ran off before I even knew it.

I trailed behind her as she ran towards the police van.

"There's a gang fight happening!" Stacey screamed in a bird's voice to cover the sound of the siren.

"Hey miss, you're under arrest," the police said and brought out a cuff.

"What are you doing, you're breaching the provision of the Constitution!" Stacey yelled as they bundle her up aggressively.

I got up to the policeman and tried to make things easier but he was a nut-head and wouldn't listen.

"Nice one gentleman thanks for being cooperative"

I don't get it.

I decided to follow her in the van.

He's supposed to arrest the thugs and not us who called for help.
