Wind Breeze 11

Charles took William to one of the best restaurants in Riquewihr near the wineries. William's eyes stared at the expanse of vineyards outside the window of the restaurant he came to. William took a deep breath after he finished drinking the glass of wine that was served to him.

The restaurant is known for its traditional Riquewihr dishes and wine selection. William was silent as he stared at the vineyard. While he was silent, his cell phone on the table suddenly rang, and he peeked at the name on his cell phone screen.

William took a deep breath when he saw Esmee's name appear on his cellphone screen. "Why do women like to bother me so much? I want to be quiet and enjoy the scenery before me."

"You don't want to answer it?" asked Charles. He took a peek at the name on William's cell phone.

William shook his head. He then turned his attention back to the vineyards outside. But only for a moment, William stared at the vineyard. He suddenly sighed and directly grabbed his cell phone.

"Yes, Esmee," said William.

"Where are you? Lunch break is over," Esmee said.

William took a deep breath. "I may be a little late. My relative from Paris suddenly came to visit me."

Esmee was silent for a moment. "Okay then. After your business with your relatives is over, you must return to the restaurant as soon as possible."

"You don't have to worry," said William.

"Okay, bye." Esmee hung with William.

William returned his cell phone to the dining table and took a deep breath. "Looks like I can't pamper myself until I seize the restaurant."

Charles laughed after hearing William's words. "But you seem to enjoy working at that restaurant."

William was silent and did not answer Charles' words. Then he grabbed his phone and put it in his pocket. After that, William rose to his feet. "Pay everything, and we'll be out of here."

Charles chuckled as he watched William walk away. He stood up from his seat and walked to the payment counter to pay for all of William's lunches.

Sven went straight to Esmee as soon as she entered the kitchen. "Where's William?"

"William will be a little late. He said he had a relative who just came from Paris," Esmee replied.

"That's no reason to be late. William should be more responsible for his work," said Pierre.

"I don't mind. William has been doing well so far," said Esmee.

Pierre chuckled after hearing Esmee's words. "You can't be like that to your workers. If you act like that, they won't respect you and act like that over time."

Sven, who heard Pierre's words, glanced sharply at the man while clearing his throat loudly. After that, he spoke to Esmee. "I can take William's place until he comes, and you're still helping us, right?"

Pierre directly turned to Sven. He snorted, then turned his attention back to Esmee. "You don't have to worry. I'll keep helping you until your restaurant is over."

"Thank you, Pierre," said Esmee.

Esmee then walked to the kitchen table and began to prepare the ingredients to make the menu for her restaurant. As soon as Marie's bell rang, Esmee took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

She then walked to the small window in the kitchen to pick up the menu that Marie had written. Esmee read the menu ordered from her restaurant diners aloud.

Pierre and Sven listened intently. As soon as Esmee mentioned it, Pierre and Sven moved without waiting for Esmee's orders. Likewise, Esmee directly worked with the ingredients of the food.

----

Thirty minutes after D'Amelie's restaurant reopened, William had just arrived. He went straight through the back door and quickly put on his apron.

Sven, who saw William had just joined the kitchen, approached him. He directly told what Pierre had said after Esmee called William.

"The food is delicious. But I don't like how Pierre talks about you with Esmee," Sven said.

William chuckled. "Just leave it."

"Fortunately, Esmee still defended you. Esmee would not like to hear Pierre demeaning her workers," said Sven.

"Never mind. We don't need to talk about that. I'm thirty minutes late, and I don't want to interrupt work here," William said.

Sven nodded. He glanced briefly at Pierre, who was cooking next to Esmee. "I wouldn't support him if she wanted to be Esmee's lover."

William just laughed after hearing Sven's words. He did his job right away. But occasionally, William glanced at Esmee, who was busy cooking orders for visitors.

----

Esmee sat at the kitchen dining table after D'Amelie's restaurant opening hours ended. After Marie, Sven, Pierre, and the others left the restaurant, Esmee felt very tired. Then she decided to rest for a while in the kitchen before going up to her quarters.

While Esmee was massaging her neck and shoulders, William approached her and brought her a hot tea. "Drink it. I know you must be tired."

Esmee looked at William for a moment, then smiled crookedly. "Thank you."

William then sat across from Esmee and watched her, who was sipping the hot tea he had made. "After this, you're still going to the club?"

Esmee nodded as she continued to drink William's tea.

William took a deep breath. "You're almost exhausted, Esmee."

Esmee put down the glass filled with William's tea. She then looked at William. "We talked about this morning."

"Yes, I know," said William.

"Pierre also asked me to take the night off. But I said I'd still come," Esmee said.

Esmee returned to massage her neck and shoulders. At times, she frowns, holding back the pain due to the tense muscles around her neck.

Seeing Esmee, who continued to massage her neck, William decided to switch to Esmee's side. "Let me help you."

Esmee looked at William while frowning. "What do you want to do?"

"Turn around. I'll help massage your neck," William replied.

"No. No need," said Esmee quickly.

William chuckled. "Take it easy. You said you should go to the club after this, then let me help you."

William grabbed Esmee's shoulders and turned Esmee's sitting position so that her back was to him. After that, Esmee could feel William's palms gently massaging the back of her neck.

"Tell me if it's too hard. I'll lower the pressure," William said.

Esmee nodded slowly. She was lost in William's gentle massage. "You're a good massager, Will."

William giggled after hearing Esmee's words. "Women love massages. So I have to give my best massage."

"You seem to have a lot of female friends," Esmee said.

William chuckled. "How? Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah, that's better," Esmee replied.

William continued to massage Esmee until a few minutes later. After that, he removed his hand from Esmee's shoulder.

Esmee turned around again, and now she was sitting across from William. Esmee's soft blue eyes met William's green eyes, which looked cold but warm simultaneously.

William and Esmee seemed to be diving into each other's souls as they stared at each other. But it didn't last long when William finally got up from his seat.

"Take a break before leaving for the club. Call me if you need help. I'm home," William said. He then walked out of the restaurant kitchen.

Esmee was still sitting where she was looking at William, who walked away and left her alone in the kitchen. She took a deep breath as William stepped out. Esmee finally got up from her seat and left the kitchen to go to her room above the restaurant.
