Chapter 12

Maria arrived home by late noon but as expected, only the children who had come back from school were around while her so called husband was nowhere to be found.

She was so sure the man was laying around somewhere spending her money and being his undeniably useless self.

She had gathered all her courage and went to the place she felt was akin to the devil's den. Although it was horrifying, she had succeeded in her endeavor.

Her trip to that godforsaken mansion had taken a toll on her and she was completely worn out.

"Mother Maria!!!" Two adorable chorused relieving her from all her worries. The only people she lived for, the reason she went to hell for.

The promise she made to her sister on one hand and her own wellbeing on the other.

The two little kids rushed out of the dinning room whose door was left agare.

The excitedly ran to the entrance door wrapping their little arms around the woman who knelt down awaiting their embrace.
