Attempt at a Vacation

(Jason's POV)

"Oookay then..." I said as I stood over the workbench, "How will this fucker work?" 

I was in the Workshop, and after a couple of days inside, I managed to get a couple of comfortable furnishing for some of the rooms, including a main bedroom. The description of the domain did say this would act as a hub for me, so basically, it's my home outside space, which is convenient. 

Don't ask where I got the furnishing. 

I was looking at some schematics that I drew myself from memory. It's the coolest thing, with Advanced Core, I know how to draw blueprints and schematics. Considering that the Workshop allows me to work on any sort of vehicle I can imagine, as long as I can build it myself via the magical tools, I'm assuming that any vehicle I make will be able to work in this world. 

"Hm..." I said aloud, "This one will take some work....but hopefully the execution will pay off." 

It was the schematics of a ship, or a spaceship to be exact. Well, it's hard to explain. The design is of a spaceship from a video game I once played, but it'll basically be a magic-fueled fighter jet. Or by this world's standards, a fighter airship. 

I have to figure out a way to get the materials to actually build it, I have the design in mind already, and its functions, weapons, and other details. All that's left is the actual manual labor and I have this overwhelming sense of dread.

"Now I understand why engineers have beef with architects." I said aloud, "They have to pull off their bullshit...." 

I took a step back and stretched my arms. 

"Oh well." I continued, "I guess I could spend a couple more days working on it. But how should I start? Maybe I'll gather the materials needed and then we worry about the construction." 

I put my hand on my chin, 'I do wonder..' I thought to myself, 'Will using God-Steel work on this craft? I have to test it out...'

Technically, I can produce as much God-Steel as I can possibly can. And I can use it in conjunction with Machine God Slayer magic in order to make powerful constructs. Not only that but with Advanced Core, I can use Machine God Slayer Magic to make this airship without any issues. But I don't want it to solely rely on the god slayer magic to be active. If I use Machine God Slayer Magic with the hangar's equipment, I might be able to build the thing really fast and effectively. 

"Yes....." I said, "Maybe that's the play....." 

I then looked over to the forge that was outside in the courtyard. Looking at it, it reminded me of the old days when I used to play Skyrim and use the iron dagger exploit to level up my smithing. All I needed was a bunch of Iron ingots and leather strips and that was that. 

Ingots.....

"Wait a minute..." I said

I walked over to the courtyard and looked at the smelter. Smelters were meant to take the metal from its ore, right? I can infinitely produce God-Steel and have this magical smelter produce ingots of God-Steel.....

A lightbulb then turned on in my head. 

I smirked, "I kinda hit the jackpot, eh?"

"Whew...." I said sitting down on a small stool, "That was something...." 

I was sweating profusely, not only from the heat but from the amount of labor I just did. 

I looked at a massive stack of obsidian black steel ingots that I had produced over several hours. They were stacked in several rows and columns that reached 6 feet high in the air. It wasn't a complicated process, all I did was use Steel God's Bellow to produce a crazy amount of God-Steel that was easily smelted and formed into ingots. 

The amount of ingots was a lot more than I thought, especially in the time I did it. I expected a bit less, but oh well, this was good. 

"Hm..." I said as I wiped my forehead, "I can use these ingots for some weapons and armors. I'm sure the airship will require several too...." 

I then stood up and rubbed my neck, thinking of what was next. 

"I need some other materials from the physical world..." I said, "Once I get those....I should start...." 

I went back inside and towards the workbenches, grabbed a towel from a table, and began to wipe the sweat off of my body. 

"This is going to be fun...." I said, "I have a lot of things planned for that airship.....hopefully it comes out good...." 

A couple of minutes later, I was walking inside the main bedroom. There was a massive bed in the middle that was set against the wall, there were a couple of cupboards set against the wall as well. I walked past the bed and towards the door that led to the bathroom. 

"I'll take a bath..." I said, "Then, I'll go back to the physical world and start mining some magical ores. I should definitely get ahold of magic lacrimas as well." 

As I entered the bathroom, I closed the door behind me and took off my shirt right away. 

I then smiled as I felt my entire body relax a bit. 

"Man, this is starting to feel like a vacation, somehow..." I said aloud, 

"Ain't that something..."

"What do you mean?" I said to the miner who was sitting in a chair, "I can't go and mine some stuff? Hell, I can't even buy some ore?" 

I was in a mining town, near some mountains, I had made my way to it in order to acquire more materials. 

He sighed, "What can I tell you?" He said, "You need a permit for that. You can't just waltz in and expect us to allow you to do that..." 

I scowled, "Come on, man, cut me some slack." I said, "I need the materials." 

"The mines here are for iron, gold, and diamond." He said, "You understand how valuable those resources are, right? There are thousands upon thousands of veins in these mountains that haven't even been opened, of course, it has to be restricted from poachers and vultures like you. You want to take jobs from us hard-working miners?" 

I looked at him with a frown, "Don't think so low of me, you fucker." I said, "I ain't here to cause trouble, I just want to mine some ore." 

He stood up and walked past me, bumping into my shoulder, "Tough luck, pretty-boy." He said, "Your soft hands won't last an hour in those mines." 

My eye twitched and I turned around, grabbing him by the shoulder.

"What you say?" I said, "I'll have you know, I used to work 16 hours per day in chemical plants and sand mines, asshole." 

He looked at me with a glare. 

"The fuck are chemical plants? You a botanist?" He said, "Get yer paws off of me or I'll kill you." 

I smirked, "You wouldn't even move me an inch from this spot, fuckface." I said, "A magic-less runt like you ain't shit compared to an ant." 

"What did you say?!?!?!" He growled

"Hey!" I heard a voice yell

We both turned around to see a familiar blonde sexy milf walk towards us. 

"Have shame, both of you." Anna walked up to us, "Causing a ruckus in the middle of this peaceful day." 

The miner raised his eyebrow, "Anna?" He said, "What are you doing here?" 

Anna smiled, "I'm here to buy some ore, Henry" She said, "And this man here, he's my friend. I'll vouch for him." 

He looked at me, "This one?" He asked

Anna nodded, "Yes." She said, "He's a strong mage, so don't pick a fight with him. Also, whatever he plans on mining or buying, it's for a good purpose." 

Henry The Miner frowned as he rubbed his hair, "Fine..." He said, "I guess I'll call my superior...." 

He then walked away. 

I looked at Anna with a smile, "Well well well." I said, "Fancy seeing your beautiful face here." 

She blushed, "Oh, Jason..." She said softly, "You big flirt~" 

I chuckled, "It's good to see you, Anna." I said, "How you been?" 

"Good." She said, "And you? I never thought I'll see you in this town buying ore." 

I shrugged, "I got a big project to work on." I said, "I need materials to see it through." 

She nodded, "Okay, follow me." She said, "Aside from the main ore this town mines, they also import massive amounts of magic lacrima." 

I raised an eyebrow, "Seriously?" 

"Yea." She said, "Come." 

She grabbed my hand and pulled me with her as she began walking. 

Several minutes later, we reached a market area where I saw several stands selling lacrima. 

"The majority of lacrima imported are basically empty canvas." She said, "You have to charge them up yourself but they're very potent. Some of them are actually charged and can act as fuel for any magic." 

I nodded, "I see." I said, "This is perfect. I'll buy some from here." 

"What kind of project are you working on?" She asked me

I smirked, "A secret." 

She smiled, "I see..." She said, "Well, when you finish it, show me. I'm kind of cu-"

I saw as she frowned as she looked towards the market. 

"What's wrong?" I asked

"I sensed an odd presence...." She said

I followed her gaze and immediately recognized what she meant. 

In the middle of the market, picking up some lacrima sphere, Mavis stood. She was wearing casual clothes instead of her typical dress. She was still barefooted, which was unsurprising. 

I walked over to her, "Mavis?" I asked

She looked at me and widened her eyes, "J-Jason!" she said brightly

She put the lacrima down and ran up to me to hug me. As I caught her in my arms, my body melted at the touch of her. 

Anna walked over to us, "You know her?" Anna asked me

I nodded, "Yea.." 

Mavis pulled back, "Oh, Jason, I missed you!" 

I looked at her, "Miss me?" I said, "How long has it even been? And wait, what're you doing here?" 

She smiled, "I've decided to just wander around the country for a bit." She said brightly

"What? That's kinda dangerous, Mavis." I said frowning

"Oh, I should be fine!" She said

I nodded then took a step back, clearing my throat. 

"Uhm, Mavis, this is Anna." I said gesturing to Anna, "Anna, this here is Mavis." 

"Good to meet you." Mavis smiled

"Likewise." Anna said, "But wait, did you say Mavis? As in Mavis Vermillion? The Founder of Fairy Tail?" 

Mavis smiled even more, "The one and only!" 

Anna looked at me with a bewildered face. 

"Don't act so surprised." I told her, "You're Anna Heartfilia." 

Mavis then gasped, "Oh!" She said covering her mouth, "Y-You're.....wait....what?!"

Anna got flustered, "Oh..." She said softly, "I guess you might've heard of me...." 

Mavis looked at me with a bewildered face of her own. 

I sighed, "Yea..." I said, "I guess we got some things to talk about."

"Let's go grab a bite to eat, shall we?"
