2.6 Princess Hisui

Kali quickly sneaked away so she didn't have to introduce herself. She spotted a tower that could watch over the city, and she made her way towards the tower. Luckily, there weren't many citizens still out during this time. Maybe because it was winter.

Kali made her way up the steps as she reached the highest point. The view was truly breathtaking, the lights illuminated the city, and the stars made everything more pleasant. She pulled down her hood as her hair fluttered from the wind.

She let out a breath and muttered, "What a nice view."

"Isn't it?" a familiar voice appeared behind her. "

Kali quickly pulled her hood over to make sure the person didn't see her appearance.

"Relax, it was too dark to see you. You're safe."

When the moonlight shone at the tower, Kali finally saw who it was.

"Princess Hisui." Kali said before looking around. "Shouldn't there be guards with you? It's dangerous to be alone."

"There were guards sent with me, but I decided to lose them for some privacy." Hisui said as she leaned on the pillar beside Kali. "It's better to be alone."

"I see…how did you know I was here?"

"This place is one of the most visited spots because of the view you could see up here. Since you're new, it was easy to guess where you were going to go."

"Ah, then I should've gone somewhere else. It was my mistake."

Hisui pouted. "Are you saying you didn't want to see me? You do know I'm a princess, correct?"

"Status doesn't mean anything to me, being strong comes with freedom, your rules don't apply to me. And it's not that I didn't want to see, I'd rather be alone."

Despite Kali's harsh words, Hisui felt like the person in front of her didn't mean any harm. It's as if she was trying to tell her something.

"I see." Hisui said. "I suddenly have more respect for you despite not knowing who you truly are. I can tell that you're a kind person."

"Is that so?"

"Your lines, they hold meaning to them, don't they? Those words of yours told me that you see me as a human being, not a royal princess."

"It seems you're pretty smart, though a princess should be like that. A naive one would've been overthrown by now."

"You know, for a guest, you speak harshly of the royals. Are you forgetting that a royal is speaking to you right now?"

"Your father asked for our help, technically, my worth is higher than yours right now."

"You have a way with words, I'm truly speechless." Hisui said as her eyes observed the city. Somehow, her eyes made their way to the person in front of her.

Hisui could slightly tell what type of person she was. If there was one more Hisui would describe her, it would be selfless. At least that's what she thought.

Kali couldn't tell what the princess was taking, she was too busy studying the city. From where she stood, she could see where the colosseum that held the Grand Magic Games that was going to be built soon.

"Say, how does it feel being a princess?" Kali asked.

"Ah?" Hisui was caught off guard. "Well…uh, I guess it's just dealing with political stuff all day. It's quite boring."

"I see, it must be hard for you. Being inside all day doesn't sound fun at all." Kali said. "The beautiful land that you haven't seen yet, it's truly a shame."

Hisui widened her eyes, her thoughts led to a wild imagination. She wondered if this was the part where someone would sneak her away and show her the places that she hasn't seen before? Hisui had hopeful eyes.

"Then, would you take me to the places I haven't seen before?"

"No."

"Eh?"

"You haven't even seen what I look like, yet you want me to bring you to places? Princess, have you lost your mind?"

"Oh, you're right."

Kali sighed and said, "You shouldn't focus on work too much, why don't you have some fun? Or you could mix the two together, create something fun that everyone can experience. It doesn't matter how long it'll take, make it as magical as you can."

Hisui's sparkled when she heard Kalis' words. She chuckled, "As I thought, you really are a kind person."

"Think of me however you want, it doesn't matter to me." Kali said. She nearly laughed when she was called kind. In her opinion, she wasn't kind at all.

"Maybe one day, I'll think of an idea, and create something magical." Hisui said as her voice trailed off. She wasn't used to speaking with someone this much, after all, she was mostly in her room due to her father's overprotectiveness.

"Say, isn't your father going to be worried about you? Shouldn't you head back now?" Kali asked.

"It's barely night time and you're already telling me to go home? You're not romantic at all." Hisui said.

Kali was startled at what Hisui said.

"What does this have to do with being romantic? I'm simply looking out for your safety. If you somehow get injured when you're with me, I'm going to have to face hell."

"Ah, you're not wrong about that. Well, if you don't want me to get hurt, you'll have to protect me, won't you?"

"You…" Kali muttered in disbelief. "You planned this from the beginning didn't you?"

"Who knows? I only came to find you since you interested me."

"I feel honored to have the princess interested in me, though I don't really know if that's a good thing."

Hisui chuckled, she never would've thought that the figure in front of her would be so amusing and fun to talk to.

"Don't worry, there's still time until a consort comes. I'm not even of age yet, we can be together for the duration of time." Hisui joked.

"Really?" Kali said. "Then I'll accept the offer, are we in a romantic relationship now?"

"Eh?" Hisui was flustered, her cheeks turned bright red. She didn't expect Kali's answer.

Kali chuckled, "Princess, you shouldn't tease me. Otherwise, I might really take you for myself."

"You're joking right?"

Kali smiled and said, "Who knows? Anyway, why don't we head back? I don't want the king to have a bad impression of me."

"He already has a bad impression of you."

"You're not wrong about that, but hopefully by bringing his daughter back safe and sound. I could gain some favor."

"Shameless."

Kali walked down the stairs with Hisui behind her. She had her guard on since it was getting dark despite it being early. There was no telling if someone was going to attack them or not. Somehow, she had a feeling of deja vu.

"Then, let's go."
