Fairy 52: The Lost Girl Part II

While thinking of such future thoughts. All of the sudden, as Zack by chance took an alleyway to return back to the inn. However, Zack halted in his steps, as he almost didn't sensed there is someone else besides him in this alleyway.

Zack took a glance at the piles of crates and barrels in this alleyway. It is not odd to see wooden crates or barrels within alleyways, especially if the alleyway has backdoors placed in them. After all, it is common knowledge, that shop owners will leave their already emptied crates and barrels behind their store, aka, the back alley, so the ones that shipped them the goods, will come and collect them.

Which is why, Zack didn't question why they happened to be wooden crates or barrels in this alleyway. But the person behind them is another story. Zack has a guess who could be the one hiding there, after all, even if Zack removed the magic tracker from Vottes. Doesn't mean the Black Rivers Dark Guild going to let her be.

No, Vottes told Zack himself. Before it took the Black Rivers Dark Guild, and their bounty hunters weeks or days to find her. It took them months in the beginning. It is obvious what this means. In the beginning, they didn't know about Vottes has a tracking device inside her.

In fact, without a doubt, Black Rivers properly didn't know the Old Wizard had died, and properly thought of him betraying them, when he didn't hand over Vottes to them. So it clear as day, that Black Rivers went to investigate what had happened, only to find out the Old Wizard had died, and their promised goods, Vottes Brave herself, went missing.

They didn't know she had a tracking magic tool inside her at first. And used other means to track her down. Which also means, it only be a matter of time before they find her once again. And from the looks of it, it seems to be now.

"It no use hiding, I already know you there, unless you want me to crush you, along with this alleyway, get out." Zack went with a serious tone of voice. As his eyes narrowed as he looked over at the barrels and crates are at. There no way he is not going to be serious, with scum like them out there.

Just knowing what they do, and did to Vottes over the years, and the immoral desires their have for her. Made him angry, even angrier then before for some reason. But even after moments later, no one one shown themselves.

With a frown, Zack begins to release some of his magical power, which put pressure on whoever is hiding. However, the moment he weigh down with magical power, the next moment he unknowingly undid the pressure of his magic power, when he become confuse, and startled, when he could hear a little girl's scream from behind the crates and barrels.

"Ahh!?" Even if Zack didn't put a lot of pressure to hurt anyone. He did unleashed enough to make them discomfortable. But never once did Zack thought, the one hiding in the alleyway was a little girl. Who slowly, and scared at that, walked out of the alleyway.

Zack looked frozenly at the little girl that came from the behind of the crates and barrels. And looked into her green eyes, behind her green hair. Even if the little girl shown clear signs of being frightened of Zack, but her eyes are different.

There is a strong unbreakable will that Zack could see and sense from her green eyes, that stared at him. It hard to even think that the one that shown strong will, that seems almost unbreakable, was coming back a girl around Meredy's age. 11 years old at best.

The little girl herself, is mostly wearing a cloak, that hides most of her body. If it wasn't for Zack's sudden actions, her hood might be hiding her green hair and eyes at this moment. No matter how Zack look at her, this child looks like a runaway child to Zack.

While thinking what her situation could be. Zack took a deepsigh, as he walked towards the little green haired girl. Who quickly became scared when she saw Zack coming towards her, but the little girl didn't show her frighten state on her face, even if her shaking legs that failed to hide her fears.

And just closes her eyes, almost as if she knew she cannot run away from a person, that just casually unleased such that kind of magical power. And given up any kind of hope running away from such a person.

But to her surprise, the little girl felt someone patted her soft green hair instead of grabbing her, or capturing her inside. And reopened her green eyes only to notice the person, who looks like a bad guy shown her a gentle smile, before he went on one of his kneels to become closer to her eye level.

"There no need to be afraid… I am sorry… for startling you, and scaring you. I am Zack Smasher, a Wizard, and you?" Zack went with his gentle smile, and still patted the girl's head before her. Who looked confusedly at Zack.

"Wizard…?" Asked the little girl.

"That's right." Zack went, as the little girl looked at Zack, and then at the tattoo, or more like Nightfall in his tattoo form at his right upper side of his arm.

"My name Is His… I mean it's Visli!" When Zack heard her said that, with nervous face. There no way Zack didn't notice the little girl just given him a fake name. but he didn't care much. And just focus on the little girl, that giving a nervous look toward Zack. Afraid what he will do to her.

"Visli huh… do you mind me calling you Vis instead?" Zack went, as his brotherly instincts begin to kick in.

"No… I don't mind at all Mister Zack Smasher…" Vis or Visli the one with the fake name went with a sigh. She did feel calmer, seeing Zack is friendly, but that doesn't mean her guard is down.

"I see, well then Vis, mind telling me where your parents are? And why you out here so late in the night?" Zack asked with worry.

"Night…?" Visli went, as she just notice he is now night. Zack look at her shock expression, by chance, did this kid sleep behind the crates and the barrels, without noticing it already night now? Her parents must be worried sick.

"Night yeah, it around 10 pm I think, come on, I will take you home. You do know where you live, right?" Zack went, as he offered Vis his hand. Who looked at his hand with hesitation.

"A-About… that…!?" However, as the little girl, Visli tried to answer Zack, or more like didn't know how to answer that. Her green eyes widen. When the young wizard who known as Zack, suddenly grabbed a held of her wrist, and pulled her towards him.

Not only Visli become puzzled, but also scared, as she thought she has misjudged the man before her. However, to her surprise, Zack stepped to the right, taking her with her, she tried to yell, but the sight of an arrow made of ice stabbing into the ground, where they were, startled the little girl, as she stared at the icy arrow that slowly begin to disappear into the air.

On the other hand, Zack, who held the faked named little girl, Visli closed to him. And clicked his tongue, realising the one that the arrow was armed at, wasn't the little girl, but himself. Counting on the place where it landed, and where Zack was, it was aimed at his heart, a kill shot.

'Black Rivers…?' Zack thought, of the only one who wants him dead. And even thought of returning back to the inn before they meet her. But before that, Zack had to make sure this little girl doesn't get caught in this mess of his and Vottes's.

As he turned his gaze towards the one that shoot that Ice Arrow. And there on top of some building's rooftop, lies three hooded men standing there, as they looked at Visli and Zack. However, because Zack was too focus onto the three hooded men, he didn't notice the deadly pale face of Visli.

"Inform the others, we found the target." Went the one that seems to be in change, as he carried a huge greatsword behind his back.

"What about the young man?" Asked the one who seems to fired that Ice Arrow, a Ice Wizard to be right.

"What else, we kill him. Only thing that matters to us, is that little girl stays alive, and recaptured." When the wizard with the sword said that the one besides him nodded, as drove into a sea of shadows, leaving Zack startled knowing what that magic is. And they conversation just now. As the Shadow Wizard himself disappeared from sight.

'Shadow Magic… And… I am not the target…? But she is?' Zack thought, as he took a quick look towards Visli, whose face has already become pale as she realised who they are.

Only then, did Zack realised, they not from Black Rivers… but different people, who seems to be dead set on kidnapping the little girl besides him.

"I give you two options kid. Either we give you a painless death, or painful one. We can give you the painless one, as long you hand over the girl, either way, there no way you going to live past today." Went the leader of the trio, now duo of the dark wizards. And took out his greatsword from behind him, as he jumped off the rooftop, and landed before Zack and Visli, as he pointed the 1.6m long blade sword at Zack.
