163. First Stage

The light pillar's sudden appearance alerts everyone. Ben knows it must be the sign of Nirvana being found by the enemies. He wants to rush toward the light pillar's location but then he sees Wendy is acting strange.

"N-no, it's my fault. It's because I healed Jellal. He knows Nirvana's location, it must be him. It's my fault," says Wendy, blaming herself.

"Shit!" says Ben as he flashes to Wendy.

He extends his hands in front of her and says, "Sleep!"

Ben casts a Sleep spell on Wendy and makes her sleep. It makes the others confused, except Hibiki.

"So you know about Nirvana," says Hibiki.

"I know a lot about it, including its effect. Switching light and darkness," says Ben.

"What do you mean?" asks Lucy.

"Nirvana is affecting people's hearts. It turns evil into good and the opposite, or I must say switching good and bad. But it hasn't been activated completely, so it only affects those who have their hearts waver which makes them weak to Nirvana's effect," says Hibiki.

"Is that why he put Wendy to sleep?" asks Lucy.

"Yeah, if she stays like that, she will get affected by Nirvana," says Hibiki.

"Magic that affects physique can always be blocked. But Magic that affects the heart and psychic is very difficult and almost impossible to block. The only way to defend it is by having a strong heart," says Ben as he makes 7 clones.

"You guys stay with Wendy, I will go to Nirvana's location and destroy it," says Ben to his clones.

The clones nod and Pride carries Wendy. Ben also tells Bella to stay with Wendy because what he's about to do is very dangerous.

"Hmm? Where's Erza?" asks Lucy.

"She has run off right after Wendy slept," says Hibiki.

"Don't worry about her, she can protect herself. You two need to be careful because the enemies have found Nirvana. We don't know what they can do with it and what they've planned after finding it. However, they will surely try to remove us, so you need to be careful. My clones will take care of Wendy & the cats. You can stay with them if you want, but you still need to be careful," says Ben to Hibiki and Lucy before he leaves.

Ben runs in the light pillar's direction because he knows it is where Nirvana is located. He will destroy it once and for all to give Roubaul his peace. It is his duty and his way to repay the old man's kindness.

But suddenly, Ben gets attacked on his way to Nirvana. He senses the air around him twisted and feels danger coming fast from the front. Without thinking much, Ben teleports high in the sky.

The trees below him are suddenly being cut into many pieces. He just evaded some invisible slashes that came from the front. Ben looks to the front and sees someone with black & white hair walking slowly toward him as he falls on the ground.

"What a surprise, you can evade my invisible scythe. I must say that you are strong, just like what Father said," says the guy, Midnight.

"Midnight of Oracion Seis, huh? I don't have time to play with you, so leave before you regret it," says Ben.

"Heh, you have a big mouth. Why don't you make me leave if you can?" asks Midnight, challenging Ben.

"As you wish then," says Ben who suddenly appears in front of Midnight.

Ben punches Midnight but then his punch goes sideways and failed to hit his target.

"Reflector, huh? You have good magic there," says Ben calmly even though his attack failed.

"Oh? You know?" asks Midnight curiously.

"Of course, I am proud of my knowledge about Magic. Reflector is something that I know too and I know how to counter it. Just like this," says Ben as he raises his right hand that has been covered in a dark purple aura in front of him.

Midnight suddenly disappears from his spot but then he is seen on another location, far on the left of his initial location.

"You know, I am a Sun Dragon Slayer and Light is one of my main power. If you want to create an illusion, then don't make it by distorting light, I will see through it easily," says Ben to Midnight who lays flat on the ground.

The previous Midnight was just an illusion that the real one made by twisting the light. It will fool other people but not Ben who knows about light like the back of his hands. Besides, Ben has a strong magic sense, so he could sense the real Midnight's location.

Midnight feels himself become very heavy when Ben raised his hand. It made him fall flat on the ground and can't stand up anymore. He never felt 40 times gravity before which means his weight also increase 40 times.

"Your magic has a flaw, and that is your inability to use it at more than one place. If you use it elsewhere, you can't protect yourself with it. That's why it will be useless against me who can see through your illusion and know your real location," says Ben as he approaches Midnight.

Midnight tries to get up but the gravity pressure is too strong for him. Ben arrives in front of Midnight and puts his right hand to the guy's face.

"As I said, I don't have time to play with you, so Sleep!" says Ben.

Ben casts a Sleep spell on Midnight and makes the guy sleep in an instant. He can punch the guy but it might get reflected because the distortion shield is still active. That's why he uses the Sleep spell by touching Midnight's head so it won't get reflected.

*GURAGURAGURA*

Right after Ben puts Midnight to sleep, a tremor strong tremor suddenly appears. The ground beneath him is lifted high before it starts to crumble. He grabs Midnight and moves to save themselves.

Ben looks up and sees a gigantic structure coming out of the ground. It has 6 massive & tall spider-like legs that make it stands very high. Many buildings can also be seen above the gigantic structure.

"Damn, they've activated the city," says Ben in frustration.

Brain has hastened his plan after Ben threatened him before. He felt that his plan will fail if he doesn't move fast and activate Nirvana city before Ben find him. So he moves fast and defeats Jellal who opened the Nirvana gate while sending Midnight to confront Ben.

He also defeated Erza who has come to find Jellal and threw them away from Nirvana city. Brain has predicted that Midnight will lose against Ben because he knows Ben is stronger in their previous fight. But he never expected that Midnight will lose this fast against Ben.

"Damn, that brat has made me panicking and rushing everything. But finally, Nirvana city has been activated. Now, let's start my plan immediately before he comes and ruin everything," says Brain.

Brain treats Ben as the biggest problem now, more than even Jura, a Wizard Saint. Their previous fight and last encounter have made Brain very wary of him. Even more so when Ben defeated Midnight effortlessly before.

However, that biggest threat is puking right now as he clings onto Nirvana's leg. He tried to climb Nirvana so he can destroy it from the inside. But he forgets that he is a Dragon Slayer and will suffer motion sickness.

*BAM*

Ben falls to the ground and curses, "Fuck this curse."
