159. Painful Truth

Roubaul explains to them that the Legal Guilds have planned to start confronting Balam Alliance. They will destroy a major portion of it, especially the one under Oracion Seis' control. But they can't do it alone or they will get destroyed, so they formed their own alliance.

"Legal Guilds' alliance?" asks Ben in surprise.

"That's right. We are allying with Fairy Tail, Lamia Scale, and Blue Pegasus to destroy Balam Alliance," says Roubaul.

"Ooh, 3 big Magic Guilds, that's great. But won't the Balam Alliance targetted us later because we are just a small guild?" asks Ben.

"Don't worry, the other 3's names will prevent it happening," says Roubaul surely.

Ben is still skeptical about it, but he doesn't say anything else and just lets Roubaul talk.

"The job will start tomorrow, so prepare yourself. You will meet with the other Mages in Blue Pegasus Master's villa near this forest," says Roubaul as he gives a map to Ben.

Ben takes it and sees that the villa is quite close to the forest. They can reach it in a few minutes by car.

"Alright, let's prepare our stuff," says Ben to the girls.

They nod and leave the building to pack their items. Then the girls rest for the rest of the day while Ben trains. He doesn't need to rest that much and will still be in his best condition tomorrow.

The next day, they are getting ready to leave for the meeting. But then Roubaul suddenly calls Ben to meet him in private. The meeting time is close so the girls finally go first on foot.

"What's wrong with you, Gramps? We are about to have a meeting with the other guilds and you suddenly called me. Why didn't you do it this morning or last night?" asks Ben grumpily.

"Sorry, I need to muster up my courage and have just gathered it," says Roubaul with a sad tone.

"Courage?" asks Ben with a strange expression, he has a bad feeling about this.

"Ben-boy, I want to tell you something. Please don't interrupt me and let me finish it," says Roubaul.

Ben raised an eyebrow confusedly but he still nods.

"Remember about Nirvana and Nirvit? I told you that the villagers and I are Nirvit's descendants. It's a lie, we are not their descendant, we are them, the Nirvits. We are the one who made Nirvana, I am the one who made Nirvana," says Roubaul very seriously.

Ben widens his eyes in surprise before looking at Roubaul strangely. He wants to say something but Roubaul talks first.

"I know you won't believe it easily, so let me explain everything to you first," says Roubaul.

Ben nods and lets the old man continues his talk. Roubaul then tells him about Nirvana & Nirvit's real past which is the same as what Ben learned in Magic Library.

"I was the only survivor but in the end, I died too. But then I continue to live on as a spirit as if I am not allowed to die so I can atone for my people's sin. I sealed Nirvana and watch over it in this abandoned village. I lived in solitude until one day, a boy with blue hair come to me with a little girl in his arms, it's Wendy," says Roubaul.

The boy asked him to take care of Wendy and Roubaul eventually agreed to it. But then Wendy is getting worried and searched for the boy. The boy told her that he will take her to a Guild so she thought that this is a guild.

To not make her sad, Roubaul then used his magic to make an illusion. He made a Magic Guild using his illusion magic. It made Wendy happy and a few days later, Ben came and became a member of this illusionary guild.

Ben widens his eyes and trembles very hard as Roubaul says everything. He wants to say that Roubaul is lying to him, but the old man suddenly makes everyone in the village appear and disappears in front of him to prove his story.

Roubaul's illusion magic is extremely powerful that it becomes reality. Everyone here is an illusion, but they have a real body and real personality. All of them are Nirvit people who live 400 years ago and created Nirvana.

That explanation suddenly connects everything in Ben's mind. He always has some strange feelings about the guild and some other things here. But he always ignores them and thinks that he is overthinking things.

Now, everything has been cleared by Roubaul's explanation. The only real living beings in this place are him & his sisters. Ben now has tears flowing down from his eyes as he thinks about everything in these 7 years.

"Then, is everything a lie?" asks Ben with a shaky voice.

"No. I can assure you that I really care for you and love you all. That's why it is very hard for me to reveal the truth, but I know I need to do it. I don't want to keep lying to you," says Roubaul with tears flowing from his eyes too.

"Why? Why are you telling this to me now?" asks Ben with tears flowing from his eyes.

"Because I believe in you. I believe you can destroy Nirvana now which is aimed by Oracion Seis. After Nirvana gets destroyed, I can finally leave this world. So I need to reveal everything to you because I believe you are ready to learn this fact," says Roubaul while smiling warmly.

"Can't you just stay longer with us?" asks Ben with a begging tone. It is still hard for him to accept all of this.

"I'm sorry," says Roubaul sadly.

Ben understands it instantly, Roubaul is tired because he has waited for 400 years. That's a very long time of waiting and now his chance to rest will come.

"But what about the girls? They still need you," says Ben, still with a sad tone.

Roubaul smiles warmly and says, "They already have you. Because you are here so I can think of leaving this world peacefully. With you here, I don't need to worry about the girls because I know you will always be there for them. Now the only thing that still worries me is just Nirvana. Even so, I am sure that you can also handle it."

Ben looks down while gritting his teeth and clenching his fists. He has thought of Roubaul as his grandfather, his parent in this world. He has lost his parents in his old world and now he will lose his parent in this world.

But he couldn't even say goodbye to his biological parents before they died and he has a chance to do it now. So he doesn't want to part with Roubaul without even saying goodbye. The inability to say that word to his parents and little brother will always be his regret.

That's why Ben resolves his heart to do what he can for Roubaul. If the old man's biggest wish is Nirvana's destruction, then he will grant it. This is the only thing that he can do to repay Roubaul's kindness to him.

Ben calms himself down and wipes the tears on his face. Then he controls his breath and stops his trembling body. He stands up firmly and looks at Roubaul with a firm expression.

"Gramps, you have waited for Nirvana's destruction for 400 years. Today, your long wait will be over. I, your grandson will grant you Nirvana's destruction," says Ben firmly before he leaves the building with a strong resolve.

Roubaul widens his eyes when Ben says 'grandson'. But then he smiles warmly and says, "Yeah, I leave it to you."
