149. Jupiter Cannon

Ben is impressed by Phantom Lord's walking castle. It's really impressive, but this is not the right time, so Mira scolds him. She tells him to get ready for battle before she leaves to warn her Guildmates.

After getting scolded, Ben leaves in the castle's direction and gets ready for any confrontation. Phantom Lord must have brought their building here for something. His suspicion is proved when a very large and long cannon appeared from the castle and aimed at the Fairy Tail building.

The Fairy Tail Mages are panicking, but Mira manages to calm them. Then she goes to the front line with Erza. They are the only S-Class Mages left in the guild, so they have a responsibility to protect their comrades.

Erza immediately uses her Requip and changes her armor into Adamantine Armor. While Mira now transforms into Satan Soul: Halphas. They are getting ready to intercept Phantom Lord's Magical Convergent Cannon: Jupiter.

This cannon is known for its immense destructive power. It is a very powerful weapon that shoots a very strong compressed energy beam. If this cannon is activated, it will destroy the Fairy Tail building and even Magnolia.

They can't let that happen, so Mira & Erza will stop the cannon. The cannon is getting charged and they are standing between it & their guild building. They prepared themselves to block the powerful attack.

*PSHEW*

Phantom Lord finally shoots their Jupiter cannon toward Fairy Tail. Erza stands in the front with her shields ready to block the dark beam. Mira is preparing her spell to counter the dark beam and reduce its power.

But before the beam reaches them, golden light flashes beside them. It is Ben who has his whole body covered in golden flame. He stands in front of the 2 girls and gets into a stance. He extends his hands to the front with his palms open.

A big golden magic circle appears on his hands and he says, "Dragon Slayer's Secret Art! Energy Release: Solar Flare!"

Ben shoots a big gold beam toward the incoming dark beam from Jupiter Cannon.

"Wait! That's too low," says Erza in realization when seeing Ben's aim is lower than Jupiter's beam.

"Don't worry, he knows what he's doing," says Mira.

*PSHEW* *BOOM*

Ben's attack hit Jupiter's beam's lower side just like what Erza thought. But that's what Ben aimed because now Jupiter's beam is redirected upwards. It moves to the sky and hits nothing but air.

Countering the beam frontally will need more energy rather than redirecting it. If he can stop it with less effort, then Ben will choose that option. What they need to worry about isn't just Jupiter's beam, after all. So saving energy is important.

Jupiter's beam finally ends after a few seconds and Ben also stops his spell. Erza finally realized why Ben aimed the beam's lower side. Mira has realized it from the beginning though, that's why she is very calm.

Before Mira & Erza can say anything, Ben disappears using his teleportation. Many Fairy Tail Mages are coming to their position, so he decides to hide again. It's not like he doesn't want to meet them, but they'll surely ask him many things to him, and he wants to avoid that.

Just like what he predicted, they ask Erza & Mira about him. They want to know who he is because they couldn't see him clearly. Erza who gets troubled by their questions finally gets angry and tells them to stop.

"We still have enemies to fight, so just focus on it now," says Erza strictly.

"That's right, you just need to know that he is here to help us," says Mira while smiling.

The Mages just nod and don't dare to ask anything else. Now they need to focus on facing Phantom Lord that has come to their door. Makarov isn't here, but they still need to fight regardless.

Everyone suddenly hears Jose's voice and he demands Lucy to be handed over. He also demands the one who has fooled him to be handed over too. But everyone refuses without any hesitation as Lucy is their comrade. They don't know the other one that Jose wants though.

"Fine, if that's what you want then I will grant it. Jupiter will be shot in 15 minutes with more power. I wonder if you can stop it again," says Jose as if what Ben did before was just a coincidence.

Suddenly, a lot of dark ghostly figures come out of Phantom Lord's base. They're figures that Jose summoned with his magic, Shades. The ghosts fly to Fairy Tail Mages' direction who are preparing themselves to fight.

But they know they can't just focus on the Shades because Jupiter will be shot again. They need to find a way to stop Jupiter too even though Ben the mysterious man might stop it again. But they don't want to rely on him as this is their war.

Natsu decides to attack Jupiter by flying there with Happy's help. He attacks the cannon from outside but his attack caused no damage. So he decides to attack from inside and enters the castle.

Meanwhile, Ben is looking at the situation from Fairy Tail's rooftop. "Master Makarov isn't here, so someone needs to face Jose. Well, let's find out how strong a Wizard Saint is," says Ben while grinning excitedly.

Ben disappears from his spot and appears in Phantom Lord's castle. The distance isn't too far so he can reach it with teleportation. He spreads his sense to find the biggest magical source and he finds it on the top floor.

"That must be Jose," says Ben as he smirks and teleports there.

Just like he thought, he appears right in front of Jose who sits on his throne. Jose is surprised by Ben's sudden appearance in his room.

"Who are you? You don't seem to be a Fairy Tail Mage," asks Jose while looking at Ben's Guild Mark in his forearm.

"I am a challenger. Wizard Saint Jose Porla, show me your power as a Wizard Saint," says Ben smugly.

"Don't make me angry, kid! I am here for Fairy Tail, not a stupid brat like you," says Jose pissedly.

"Really? I thought you come for me too. Have you changed your mind? Boring~," says Ben as he transforms into Lucy and picks his nose.

Jose now realizes that Ben is the one who disguised as Lucy and pissed him off before. So he gets up from his throne and looks at Ben angrily before laughing creepily.

"Hehehe, good, you come here yourself. Now I don't need to search the whole Magnolia to find you. You want to see a Wizard Saint's power? Fine, I'll grant it to you," says Jose as he releases his full Magic Power.

Ben flinches when he senses Jose's full Magic Power. He thoughts his Magic Power is high enough, but it's still below Jose's. He has more than 360 thousand MP points, that's far beyond normal S-Class Mages, but it's still below Jose.

"His MP might be around 500 thousand if gets converted into points. Maybe that's the requirement for Wizard Saint-level Mage. Well, there are 10 of them and they have different strengths based on their ranks, so I don't know for sure."

"They say that the gaps on higher levels are much bigger than the lower levels. Even rank 10 and 9 of Wizard Saints might have a very big gap, not to mention for the higher ranks. Then the 4 Gods of Ishgar must be much stronger than this. Damn, it makes my blood boils," says Ben excitedly.

It's been a long time since Ben fight someone stronger than him. Although MP isn't everything, having more MP means they can use stronger and more spells. That means this won't be an easy fight for Ben, but he is very excited now.

"I couldn't go all out in my last battle. But it seems I can and need to go all out now. Let's find out how much I grew in the last 1 year," says Ben as he also releases his full Magic Power.

Jose gets a little surprised by it and grins, "It seems you aren't just an idiot kid, but you're still an idiot for provoking me."

Ben & Jose gets ready to fight for their own reasons.
