Allow Me To Marry You, My Queen! 2

The Mind Dragon Hypnos, opened his mouth, using the Mind Dragon Breath, shooting it towards me. It was an attack that affected both the physical forms and the spiritual world, allowing it to bypass most defenses.

Standing my ground, I opened my mouth, devouring the Mind Dragon Breath. Just as I devoured it all, Hypnos appeared before me, using Mind Dragon Magic, he enhanced his body not just with the power of magical energy, but also with his mind. All this on top of the dragon physique, he was anything but normal.

With a thought, I pulled myself away using telekinesis, barely avoiding the attack. With another thought, I threw myself at him, while enchanting my body with FIre Phoenix Magic, on top of my mental power.

We clashed, our clash creating a shock wave that leveled the whole forest. Hypnos was sent flying away, rolling over many forests before he came to a stop. I flew into the sky, my arms now wings. I flew over to Hypnos who was currently looking at me in approval.

"I taught you all I can do, To think a small brat would have a mind stronger than me." The Dragon laughed, although deep down he was crying, for I had a Body, mind, and magical power far above his.

"Thanks for teaching me everything," I said with a faint bow, to which the dragon shook his head. 

"No need to thank me, just see it as me repaying you for bringing back my youth... on that note, before you go, I want to tell you something about your magic. Your magic is deeply connected with the element of fire, everything I taught you is trying to fuse with your phoenix magic. In other words, you're on the edge of creating a new form of magic, and once you do that, I'm sure you will step into the level of a Dragon God." He said to which I nodded, I had sensed that, but it has been hard fusing other forms of magic with Phoenix magic,

"Okay, go on and see the queen. It's been 2 weeks, time for you to go stand at her side." He said to which I nodded, before thanking him again. With a flap of my burning wings, I burst through the air, shooting straight towards the Empire. As I neared, I geared the Scarlet Armor but my magic wasn't sealed, for the curse this armor held was purified.

With a flash, I appeared on the landing spot for dragons in Irene palace and headed inside where like always I caught the attention of many people. I headed towards Irene's office, where I found her, waiting for me.

"I have returned my queen," I said while getting to one knee, and removing my helmet, 

"You don't need to kneel. I'm happy to see you well." Irene said with a smile, I looked at her wanting to say something, but my eyes narrowed.

"Something troubles you, please tell me what I can do," I said to which Irene waved my words off, and tried to talk about my time in the outside world, but I gave her simple replies, while looking at her, waiting for her to speak. Irene soon cracked over my gaze, and while grabbing her head, she slowly spoke. 

"The Dragons of Alakitasia are planning on invading Ishgar to continue their conquest of the humans. but don't worry, everything is under control." Irene said, not wanting me on the battlefield. 

"My queen, please don't try and shield me. It's clear as day we are outnumbered. if a full-out invasion has started on the continent, hundreds of thousands of dragons are coming, against our few thousands of dragons. See me as your knight, and not as a child." I said to which Irene sighed not knowing what to say.

"I'm close, Dragon Slayer magic will be created soon. I need you to stay with me, instead of out there. You're my shield right?" Irene asked, making me unable to speak for a moment.

"When I go to the battlefield, you can come with me. Alright?" Irene asked to which I sighed in defeat, before nodding lightly. With that, Irene secretly sighed in relief, now that she had to find another reason to keep me away from the battlefield.

"Well, let's go. There will be a meeting." She said to which I nodded while following her to the throne room. There, all of the nobles were talking on the matter of the war, many swallowed by fear, but they went quiet as we arrived, many of them looking at me. Like always, I took my spot next to the throne, calmly sizing up everyone down below.

And so the meeting began, Irene's ears were instantly hit by how she should marry someone from the the Holy Light Empire, how this marriage would unite our two empires, and with the help of the gods, we would win this war.

Irene didn't know how many times she had heard this, and honestly, she was thinking about it. As things stand, humans were going to lose. And if she can't complete creating Dragon Slayer Magic fast enough, who knows how many humans would have died?

They were out-powered and outnumbered. The human race was in a bad spot right now, she couldn't help but look towards me, where she sighed softly. There were two moves she should do right now, sending me to the battlefield was the first, and marrying was the second... but seeing just how many nobles were being manipulated by the Holy Light Empire, she realized that the Holy Light Empire's control of her empire went deeper than expected,

While they were causing small conflicts with them, they would have been working on getting the nobles over to their sides. Should she risk the future of her empire, for the sake of humanity, or should she risk humanity for the sake of her empire? She picked humanity over her empire, but there was one move around this.

"I can't marry... I plan to marry my knight. As you all said, I need an air to the throne. I want a husband who is at least as strong as me. If anyone could defeat him, I am willing to reconsider." She said, shocking me. Although my body showed zero reactions to this, my mind was racing at what all of this meant.

"Instead, I believe Rung should marry someone else. If any of your daughters are willing, I will give them my full blessing. As for the war with the dragons, in a week at most, I should have created Dragon Slayer Magic" Irene said leaving the room quiet as no one knew what to say after this...

"Sorry, I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that," Irene said with a bow while standing before me, her head lowered.

"No, I am instead not worthy of marrying you. Say the word, and I shall search the land, finding someone worthy of your hand in marriage." I said quickly, rarely would you find someone with such a pure soul like Irene. Her soul was so beautiful, I was left disgusted with how lacking my soul was. Although I couldn't sense my soul, I knew it had to be dirty.

"Is my soul as pure as you think?" Irene asked lightly while looking at her palms, she wasn't sure if her soul was so pure. 

"Of course, out of all the souls I have sensed, many although near your pure soul, all fall short. Your soul is bright, this translates to your charisma, and how you can win over the hearts of many. If anyone could change the world, it's you." I said seriously, leaving her quiet for some time.

"But I don't want to marry. Does that make me a good person, knowing that so many problems could be solved if I simply married the prince? I was going to just give up and marry him, but when I saw you, I saw a way to escape this troublesome matter. And now, I'm selfishly putting my needs over everyone else. If we Dragnof and the Holy Light worked together, I'm sure we could summon a god with the power at the Dragon King level, or even stronger. Yet I fear the price they would demand, so I ignore this possibility. My people are dying, yet I selfishly avoid a way to help them... how do I have a pure soul" She asked while sitting back in her chair, 

"That only makes your soul even more beautiful. My queen, please don't downplay your effort. You are forced to pick between letting poison into your empire, or the future of mankind. It was my fault you took a step back when you were thinking about marrying, it was my fault things between the two empires grew worse. It's all my fault, and it's perfectly normal for someone to be unwilling to do something. Yet even so, you were going to go through with it. To put your happiness aside for the sake of others. You look at the bigger picture, and instead of looking at the most effective way to do something, you look at the most peaceful way... that's beautiful." I said with a soft smile.

"I became your knight, not simply because of the deal... but because I believe with all my heart, you can change this world. So, If you truly are unwilling to marry, then allow me to be your shield. Allow me to marry you, my queen." I said stunning Irene

"I mean no disrespect by my words, I don't dare to see myself worthy, but please use me like the shield I am," I said leaving Irene unable to say anything before she shook her head.

"You're just a kid, It was bad enough I used you to buy time," Irene said to which I looked at her seriously,

"In mental age, I'm over 24 years old. You can enchant something to show you the age of my mind." I said confusing Irene, but seeing how serious I was, and that she was curious, she pulled out a crystal ball, which she enchanted to have the power to show mental age.

She touched it, and it showed she was only 25 years old. but when I touched it, it showed I was 24 years old. This left her confused, so she looked at me to explain.

"When I was 3, I remember my past life memories. I was just 17 years old when soldiers slaughtered my whole family. Their screams are something I will never forget, but also my motivation to change this world. Maybe my high affinity for power is because I was burned alive like my mother... but that doesn't matter, and it isn't important. All that matters is that you need to stop seeing me as a kid. last time mistake will not happen, I understand I'm a knight, and my job is to follow orders. So, give me your orders." I said to which Irene opened and closed her mouth, before sighing.

"Fine, but if you hide that you're In pain from me even once, you will go back to being a citizen." She said to which I nodded seriously. 

"Than, as of this moment... Ryu Dragneel, you're my husband-in-name, we shall marry after the whole war is over. So, go show your might on the battlefield. Buy me time to create Dragon Slayer magic, I will put you under the command of someone I trust, so follow his orders well." Irene said to which I nodded in joy.

"I will not disappoint, I shall wait for you on the battlefield," I said to which she nodded, before having me go get ready, while she rubbed her head, not knowing why this matter was stressing her out even more.
