Chapter 78: Archer

Chapter 78: Archer

~Silva K. POV~

After the whole debacle with the Replica 1 and Mavis wanting to examine it more closely, I was left with the choice of providing the Replica 1 weapons for it to be battle-ready.

Deciding on a fighting style to focus on I decided he should fight long to mid-range fighter.

Oh, right I should probably call him under a different name.

Hmm…

I do happen to need a long-range fighter so how about just Archer then?

Archers specialize in long and mid-range fights plus having someone looking at my back focusing on upgrading the gear.

Alright Archer it is then.

And where else could I find some more impressive gear than the Magic Shop? I remember where Erza mentioned it during my stay at the hospital of the Magic Shop where she gets her usual armor and weapon sets.

Now where…

Ah!

My eyes widen as I smirk finding the Magic Shop with other Mages entering in and out just as I go towards the Magic Shop entering inside.

Gazing my eyes at the series of Magic Tools and Lacrima's inside I walked towards the Magic Shop owner who looked like a middle-aged man noticing me as he spoke, "Hmm…? Ah. Hello, their new customer are you here to ask for help with what our shop has for your needs?"

Grinning with a curt nod I responded in a curious tone about where to find any Magic Guns for my Archer, "Yeah. I was wondering if you have any Magic Guns for me to use. Preferably a Magic Rifle and Handgun if you have any. Just the classics are good."

He had an awe expression motioning his hand to follow me where he keeps the Magic Guns on the sides showing very expensive guns to the regular ones along with Magic Bullets containing different kinds of Magic inside.

Showing to the side edges near the end of the row the man took the rifle and handgun along with a Gunner set of ammunition, holsters, and bullet belt explaining to me, "Here. These should be the ones you looking for young man. This here is a simple Magic Rifle powerful enough and useable with these caliber-size bullets. The same for the Magic Handgun fast firing power but lacking in power but if you're a good sharpshooter then it's the best gun to have."

A rifle that is relatively dark in color, but ornately decorated by intricate, spiraling motifs over its stock and central part.

The other is a revolver handgun as I got a grip on each weapon it has a good view and feels just right for anyone to wield causing me to smile.

But to be sure…

<Observe>.

Viewing the weapons, I grinned immediately for my Archer to have these weapons as I talked to the Magic Storekeeper, "Hmm… I'll take it! If you can provide the spares of extra bullet rounds then you got yourself a deal."

He grinned as we brought up the charges for the Magic Handgun, Rifle, bullet belt, cleaning set, and holsters for them.

Tch.

*Thud*

Closing the door as I make my way back inside with Mavis directing her attention towards me with a curious glint in her eye, "Oh? Seems like you came back, Silva. Did you get what you need for your clone?"

Replying with a curt nod I used <Requip> to get my Archer's attention taking hold of the Magic Handgun and Rifle equipping them along with a spare set of clothing with the gun holsters for them.

Those are the basics, but it cost me about 120,000J for the whole thing, and future ammunition is added in case I happen to run out early.

Why did I have to buy the elemental bullet set?

Fire, wind, water, and earth Magic Bullets at the ready for one's convince. But I'm not sure if I would find myself in a situation where I would need them.

Plus, some firepower to my Replica would be needed just to be on the safe side. Besides that, left me with 40,000J left to my name.

Sigh…

There goes my wallet down the drain…

Need to start taking a job soon to help situate my Jewel problem soon enough.

Smirking at this it was time to start practicing with this Archer in action testing out the capabilities of a digital clone with my skills in action.

Like that, I held out Shambhala activating its teleportation to take us somewhere spacious enough to test-run my Archer's abilities.

*Shiii*

Standing in my private area of the Great Plains I gave my Archer some commands to follow listening intently to my words, "Alright Archer by my first order. I want you to train how to use those guns effectively. Use Mana Constructs or Cryokinesis to create the bullets to spare the ammunition."

Archer nodded and did as he was told as Mavis talked to me from the sidelines in a curious tone of in her voice, "Interesting… It's like I'm watching a complete clone of yours but not at the same time. It's not exactly as strong as you are huh?"

Oh, she noticed huh?

Not bothering to hide the weakness of my Replica I replied in a casual tone, "Right. Physically speaking at least. My Archer doesn't have the exact same strengths as me. But skills on the other hand…"

*Woosh*

Moving around my Archer moved at peak human AGI and STR despite his low stats as Mavis raises an eyebrow looking at my Archer, "Yeah, I can certainly tell. He has your skills but lacks the strength of yourself. Is that why you have the replica practice Gun Magic instead to compensate for its lack of physical attacks?"

Shrugging my shoulders at her question I replied in a neutral tone placing my hand under my chin raising an eyebrow, "Yes. Currently, he would be cannoning fodder. But with my skills, he should hold his own, so I decided I needed an Archer to help support me in requests. And possibly try to learn The Gunner like The Knight when it comes to Requip Magic."

Mavis nods her head in understanding seeing my Archer having the same Magic as my own pondering an idea and voicing out, "True. Would be situational to teach and make him use Elemental Magic for better coverage in my opinion. But for now, I think your idea works if given enough time to train."

Nodding my head for the rest of the time we only conducted a few trainings and tests to confirm what my Archer is capable of.

After a series of tests, it seems like my Archer has complete control over his body unlike me in fights compared to sparing practices.

I tested it with my clones used by Lostvyane and they lost despite having my higher stats the Replica defeated them without any waste of movements.

Another thing I tested was if he gained any skills, I would gain them as well as the process which it seemed to work that way as well when I gained some new skills despite not doing them myself personally.

*Bang*

*Bang*

*Bang*

Standing around observing intently to my Replica actions at handling the guns I provided for Archer he seems to have gotten better adjusted to using them as I can see my skills using firearms increase in the process.

It only took a couple of tries but it seems like Archer is getting a hang of it. With how much effort his placing in his shots he certainly doing most of the effort.

Especially since using <Mana Construct > or <Cryokinesis> to make the bullets is a lot more useable than the ammunition I provided but made sure to use the free constructed ones.

Really prefer if he doesn't use my elemental Magic Bullets unless needed. Maybe I should start making formulas like Tanya Magic in the future…

[<Gun Mastery> LEVEL UP!]

[<Gun Magic> LEVEL UP!]

[<Gun Mastery> LEVEL UP!]

[<The Gunner> LEVEL UP!]

Maybe I should've given him a bow and arrows as well…

It could make an Archer using archery stick. But a gun is faster than a bow and arrow could ever do.

Shrugging at the progressing skill level-ups I'm gaining I decided to check out my skill list to see the current pace of level-up of those skills.

Skill List.

With this, he should be good to go to assist me in Request from the Guild bulletin board. At least I have someone to watch my back in groups.

Mavis chuckled lightly as she floated by my side as I digitized my Replica into my <Archive Magic> and returned it as 'Saved Data' for me to use in the form of a flash drive.

It was way more convenient for me to have a Replica like this with its own weapons at the ready.

The funny part is when they die, I can have my items equipped to them back in my <Requip> space at any time if they were ever destroyed because of my skill looting functions back to me automatically.

Have to give credit for the looting function but I have to wonder what class I should have my next replica master in and what field...

Saber, Assassin, Rider, Berserker, Lancer, or go the Caster class next?

Decisions, decisions, and more decisions…
