Chapter 24: Day Break (4)

~Third POV~

Escaping and quite alarmed of anyone inside the Mansion the duo both hurried along as they entered inside the next room where Mavis found the Day Break book location as they entered inside immediately.

Once entered the two soon found themselves to be in another large room housing the Duke's library, with all of its walls, segmented into long vertical sections, adorned by bookshelves packed full of books, some of which sported ladders to reach their upper shelves.

A large desk, complete with a chair and some pens, is present, along with a light, semicircular sofa, which in its hollow part houses a round table, and has two round lamps nearby, on one side.

Two more, large lamps sporting small spheres secured to them by ropes hang from special hollow parts in the ceiling, which is covered in square tiles. Near the door granting access to the room is a closet, flanked by another, smaller desk paired with a chair.

But ignoring the scenery quite quickly Mavis directs Silva to the book section where Day Break is located getting his attention, "Quick the Day Break book is around here. Just get it and destroy it."

Getting the picture Silva got the book but his eyes widen acting surprise getting Mavis's attention as he instead placed it inside his person getting her attention as he speaks to her, "Not yet. Just one thing left before returning this back to the owner. And this…!"

*Click*

Going towards the desk pressing a hidden button Mavis's eyes widen slightly surprised as Silva gathers the under as her eyes flashed with him explaining, "Can't leave without giving this Everlue fucker a trip to be arrested. Betting the Magic Council inspector wizard would like an arrest warrant for this. All of Everlue's secret under-the-table-handed dealings."

With a confident smirk retrieving the papers Mavis took a quick brief look on them reading as her eyes narrowed, "Yup. That'll send someone like Everlue into the slammer. But can't exactly just reveal this without – Oh…"

That was when Mavis noticed the Recording Lacrima on Silva's person as the sounds of the floor stone began to shake with Silva turning around and holding the papers.

*Krik*

The sounds of the room rumbled lightly as Silva has his hand on his Rune Sword and Ricochet at the ready listening to the sounds of another voice entering the room, "I see. I see. It was you who harmed those beautiful maids!! Boyoyoyo…"

*Booo*

*Gwooooo*

Coming out from the ground was Duke Everlue using his <Diver> Magic landing down on the ground.

Everlue is a short, plump man with skinny arms and legs. He wears a formal black suit, with his jacket fastened with a large gold button and adorned with a decorative red flower. Beneath his jacket is a white collared shirt, a blue necktie, and dark blue boots. He also sports a curled mustache that directly protrudes from his nostrils, as well as a bushel of wavy hair atop his round head.

As he was about to speak his eyes dilate seeing a stack of papers that Silva held his dirty deeds as he proclaimed, "You are looking for these Duke? Sorry, but the Magic Council Inspector Wizard would like to have a few words for you."

Growling and gritting his teeth Duke Everlue now realized the situation he was in seeing his copies of secret under-the-hand table deals already bringing out his forces, "Err!!! You arrogant little shit!! Now you've made me angry!! Come out, Vanish Brothers!!! Boyoyoyo!!!!"

*Zn*

That was when two of the bookshelves are shown to hide a passageway to another room and can be slid open anytime, revealing two sheets on its opened left and right edges, sporting kanji which read, respectively, 'Hidden door' and 'Opened'.

Coming out was the older one is also the smaller of the duo, despite still remaining a massive and mildly tall man; his head is mostly shaved, with noticeably long, dark hair being present only on the back of it, where it is tied into a braid reaching down below the man's back, with a light ribbon circling the end, taking the form of a tuft; an hairstyle which is highly reminiscent of a Chinese queue speaking out, "So it's finally time for business. Good afternoon young man of Fairy Tail."

The younger mercenary, paradoxically, is also the larger one, being notably tall and massive, standing at almost twice the height of his brother, and possessing long limbs, especially if compared with his massive torso.

He has long, dark, and curly hair, which is arranged in a distinctive hairstyle, with four large, straight tufts jutting upwards on top of his head, getting smaller near their outer edge spoke out somewhat surprised, "Mama would scold us for receiving money without working for it. This kid is supposed to be Fairy Tail Wizards? Mama would be shocked."

Silva merely smirked activating from his pockets the Magic Tool Judgement Field a sit activated creating a small sphere activating the Magic as Mavis's eyes widen seeing the item again, "Now then folks. You all are stuck in this room with me. Best be prepared to be defeated and arrested Everlue for your dealings and your harming Zekua Melon."

Still recording and under the effects of the Judgement Field forcing Everlue to comply not realizing his been caught as Silva's Recording Lacrima is active catching everything ranting like a complete lunatic answering truthfully, "Yeah right! You won't know how I achieved to be where I am being fair! I cheated and killed to reach the top giving no shits about the Magic Council! Like that arrogant writer his place! I blackmail the fool if he didn't write I would revoke the rights of citizenship for him and every relative connected to his family!! In the end that upstart did write it but not before breaking the man down by placing him down in solitary confinement in my dungeon for years!!! I'll take any lowlife who calls himself an accomplished writer and talks back to me with pride too high for his station, and I'll break him!!!"

Silence has fallen towards the room as Everlue soon paled realizing what he confessed to with even Mavis looking shocked before wording out loud to no one but Silva listening, "Wow… he has to be a REAL idiot to say that in front of everyone here. Are all Dukes like this or just him specially?"

Silva on the other hand growled hearing the man gripping his blade handle tighter as his eyes had a fierce glare to it with Everlue regaining his composure demanding him, "Wha—?! You little shit what did you do!!!"

Revealing his Magic Tool of Judgement Field, the older Vanish Brother recognized it immediately knowing how everything went in a calm tone, "Judgement Field. I see… you used that at the start where everyone within has to tell the truth."

Growling and gritting his teeth Everlue demanded the Vanish Brothers to attack Silva ready to fight, "What are you fools doing!! Attack him and get back my belongings!!"

Silva for his part prepared to fight as the older brother began to speak out as he safely hid the documents, "I rather figured that you Fairy Tail wizards… would be under the mistaken impression of being the most powerful ones around. But naturally, wizards don't stand a chance against professional fighters like us bodyguards!"

Silva for his part merely waved the tip of his blade at them mockingly as he voiced out to them having his Ricochet ready already preparing his spells faking confidence and taunts, "If you think that then let's get this started! I'll take you both on even to level the playing field but even then, your 100 years too early to face me!"

That got them annoyed tick marks on their faces as the both of them nodded and the younger brother spoke with a hardened expression, "Big brother, I think this guy is seriously mocking us."

*Tmp*

Stepping on the ground the older brother reacted first and rushed at Silva with his Magic Pan getting his attention as his eyes were on him as the younger brother jumped ahead to where Silva would dodge.

The older brother prepared his frying pan closing the distance preparing to strike announcing with complete arrogance in his voice, "You fool! You shall face our strongest attack that no one has survived before! <Heaven and Earth Extinct Slaying Attack>!!"

Using his frying pan to strike and the younger attacking from above their standard style Silva with his Ricochet shield with a glint of joy seeing them rush to him or to be exact his shield getting both brothers closer unknowingly into a trap.

But contrary to what they would expect Silva stood in place taking both attacks head-on using his Ricochet as it suddenly glowed taking in both of their attacks making the Vanish Brothers' eyes widen as Silva spoke, "Yeah you guys are professionals in your field… but tell me can you both survive without getting a scratch from a point blank attack of both your combined attacks?"

*Shiii*

*BAM*

"Shit!"

"Damn it!"

Using the magical properties of the Ricochet shield to reflect the physical attacks back at the Vanish Brothers taking the full brunt of their attacks flying Silva didn't hesitate to use <Slashing Form> with the intent to rush at them.

One of the brothers saw him going for them twirling his frying pan in an attempt to block the sword strike as sparks fly between the clash with Silva the one backing away from the clash but then a yin-yang circle pattern appeared below him.

*WOOOSH*

The older brother's weapon vanished with the younger brother's eyes widening rushing forward to help as Silva had his Rune Sword ready to strike with both of them readying to retaliate but it was merely a feint.

*BANG*

*BAM*

The both of them instead attacked the Ricochet shield and it glowed again as Silva used <Mana Burst> rushing against them causing a small shockwave with him replying with a smirk of his own, "Now them, boys what say we play a game call yeet the babies!"

*BAM*

Using his <Mana Burst> on himself to propel himself faster with the force behind him towards the Vanish Brothers with his Ricochet acting as a shield bash in between them causing the two brothers to be knocked back with the increased force enough to destroy the wall of the mansion into the outside.

*BAKOW*

Silva looked through the hole in the wall and the damage done with surprise in his thoughts thinking to himself, 'Those two were about as high as level 50 each giving me a LEVEL UP… but lost this much? Then again though it's not like they can survive a bullet to the head. After all, we're just humans at the end of the day.'

The Vanish Brothers were soon through outside as Silva's attention was now on Everlue fuming in anger at the scene as he had it enraged taking out his key for retaliation, "Nooooo!!! Those fools were supposed to kill you!! I have had it with you!! If you want things done right, you have to do it yourself!! I commend the Gate of –"

"<Strong Form>!"

*Vooom*

*THUD*

"ACK!!!"

Suddenly attacked by Silva's blade sheathed as he rushed Everlue while using <Mana Burst> to propel himself managing to land a critical blow to Everlue's chest as the area around him began to crack under pressure dropping his Celestial Golden Key.

And said Golden Key luckily managed to land near Silva's feet as he landed with him casually taking the Golden Celestial Key giving it a good look.

What seems to be an ordinary golden key with the crest of the Maiden, a symbol reminiscent to the letters M and J combined together, stamped on its bow at the center of the bow is white, stamped with the crest of the Maiden, colored in purple. Surrounding the heart-shaped center on either side are simple curves, spiraling on the top and bottom. The blade's end is shaped like a heart.

Taking the Gate of the Maiden Key away from Everlue Mavis's eyes widen slightly seeing the Golden Celestial Key in surprise, "Whoa! Talk about a score Silva. You managed to find one of the 12 Golden Zodiac keys those Magic Tools are rare to find with 12 of them around the world. Now I have to know are you just that lucky."

Silva for his part shrugs as he began to use move forward toward Everlue he tries to get back up again struggling with his body bruised from the previous attack as Silva spoke, "Sorry pal but I need you to be knocked out. Plus, I will notify the Magic Council about this right away… your life is over."

*BAM*

Slamming his fist down on Everlue's body tumbled as Silva gained 50 EXP from the man as he informs the Rune Knights about the incident for a client while getting the older Vanish Brother Magic tool the giant frying pan.

Tossing it around with a smile on his face Silva talked to himself about the pan as Mavis merely shakes her head at his actions, "Huh? Seems like a pretty good weapon to add. Maybe I can use it to cook in my kitchen for a big pancake. Or some good rice. Mmm…."

Twirling his new weapon collected at the back tying up he merely waited till the Rune Knights come over with his evidence.
