40 Ch.40 Amusement park

Arriving at the counter, he immediately gave his needs to the worker. "Hi, do you have fifty millilitres of liquid ethernano, two frosty metals, ten draconian frost-wind leaves, along with fifteen arctic feather bones?" Jax asked as he put the few materials he had collected on the wooden counter.

"Hum, yes. We should have the liquid ethernano and two other feather arctic bones. However, we don't have the rest of the materials here. I can place an order to the kingdom's branch if you want to buy them." He answered while he went towards the back to collect the liquid ethernano and two extra arctic feather bones.

"I see. Could you tell me how much would the fifty millimetres of liquid ethernano, two frosty metals, ten draconian frost-wind leaves, fifteen arctic feather bones, a bag of magic dust, seven speed silver, eight luminous cotton and nine ghastly skin fruit cost?" Asked Jax as he frowned slightly, hoping he had enough money. He didn't mind using everything he had since it would allow him to have a pet that would easily surpass the S rank in the future. After all, an ordinary born Blizzardvern and not an evolved one from a wyvern had the potential to reach the top of the S rank. With all the boost he gave it, it should have the possibility to surpass the S rank and reach SS rank in raw power in the future. Of course, only with good enough luck and enough materials. It was all an investment for the future.

"Hum, let me see." Answered the worker as he took out a list from behind the counter and started to calculate the total cost of the materials Jax had just named.

After a few minutes which kept Jax worried as he wanted the best for his first pet, the worker put the sheet down and looked at Jax. "It equates to a total of twenty-three million Jewels. You're lucky that they aren't trendy, and the price has dropped in recent years. After all, fighting with beasts isn't very popular anymore." He took a breath as he continued his previous speech.

"Right, I don't know which beast you're going to use those materials on. However, I know that research on taming beasts was stopped almost a century ago. However, a new material was discovered called Luminous titanium, which increases resistance to magical attacks and physical attacks such as piercing and slashing. It strengthens the flesh of the monster, making them a lot more resistant."

"I know that the magic council tried to bring back the idea of fighting with monsters almost twenty years back. However, since almost no mage wanted to fight with beasts back then and even today, the council stopped the research. After all, to fight with a beast, you need to tame it in the egg, use a lot of resources to strengthen it, and in the end, it can take a few years for the investment to pay up. Due to this, beast taming has been abandoned, and the material is quite cheap. It's 400,000 Jewels for each block of Luminous titanium, and the beast can use a total of three. So, do you want this material as well?" Asked the worker as he seemed enthusiastic to sell more and talk more since he appeared very bored.

"Well, if those materials work as you say, then I'll take them as well. So, a total of 24.4 million Jewels?" Asked Jax as he prepared to take the bills of Jewels to pay.

"Yes. As long as you pay right now, I'll prepare a receipt for you, and the magic council will send the materials during the day. You should be able to receive them a little bit after 6 in the afternoon." Answered the worker as he started to prepare a receipt.

"Alright. In that case, can you send all of the materials, including those, to the Fairy Tail guild?" Asked Jax as he pointed to the materials on the counter as he paid the necessary money.

"Yes, no problem. Here's your receipt, and we'll send you everything tonight." The worker nodded with a smile. Jax could tell that he would get a bonus for selling so many materials at once and that it was the reason the worker was so happy. However, it didn't matter to him and instead was ready to go to the amusement park. However, as he closed his wallet and saw the 10,6 million Jewels left, he felt terrible for his previous money. Although he knew it was worth it, he understood why so many people rejected beast taming as it was money burning.

"Alright, Cana, let's go to the amusement park." He said as they both left the guild building and made their way to the east of the city where the amusement park was located. It was a bit before his prediction, and they would arrive by nine instead of ten since it went so well in the magic council building.

Walking on the road, they both arrived at the amusement park half an hour later. The front gate had about a hundred people waiting to enter, and behind the gates, Jax could see all kinds of rides which he would soon be able to ride. As he felt some excitement at doing something he wanted to do for almost a year, Jax entered the lane along with Cana, and when they arrived at the counter, he decisively bought a VIP ticket for the both of them. The VIP ticket allowed them to enter the VIP line in the rides, which allowed them to go before everyone else. However, it did cost a bit more as each ticket was worth ten thousand Jewels. However, compared to what he just bought, this was nothing and considering he probably wouldn't come back anytime soon, he paid to enjoy the day as much as he could.

As such, along with Cana, they tried all kinds of rides from the merry-go-round to faster rides which tried to scare them due to the curves and the speed. However, due to his high-intensity training and knowing that he could simply fly if something happened, he wasn't terrified, and it reduced a lot of the fun he should've had. However, the day was still fun with Cana, and they had many laughs as well.

They went back to the guild together. Cana simply wanted to go there and get used to the guild since she wanted to join when she could, while Jax wanted to get some news of the battlefield and collect the materials he was supposed to receive from the magic council.

As he entered the guild, he saw that the members who previously went to the calm sea were back. Moreover, seeing their smiling faces, Jax could tell that they didn't suffer a single casualty which was great news. Upon entering, he welcomed back the members who were drinking at the bar before going to the bar to see the master. "Master, has there been any news about the other group?" Asked Jax as he took a mug of juice the worker at the bar handed to him.

"Well, there hasn't been any news yet. However, last I heard, the monsters were retreating into the ocean, and they will soon come back." Nodded the small man as he drank from his mug. "Right, there were a few members of the magic council previously. They brought a load of items they said you bought. Are they used for the hatching of the Blizzardvern?" Asked the master as it wasn't every day someone started the hatching process of a beast—especially not with such luxurious resources.

"Yeah, all of the materials are to strengthen it before it hatch and create a link with me. All of the materials together cost me over twenty-four million Jewels. However, I'm sure it'll be worth it—right, master. I know we have a few rules of contacting our ancient clients we met through the guild. However, I was hoping to learn music since it improves my control over my sound magic, and I like music. I wanted to contact my first client, miss Joanna Leslie and become her student to learn music. Of course, I'll pay her just like a regular student. However, is it allowed by the guild, or is it considered personal gains?" Asked Jax as he planned to learn some more music.

He believed himself to be quite good at music and wanted to practice and learn a bit more. Unfortunately, except for her and the target of his last mission in Crocus, miss Rekea Robin, he didn't know anyone else practicing music. However, considering that he was in Magnolia, he didn't want to leave too far away.

"Yes, it's fine as long as you pay for her services." Nodded the master as he had noticed that Jax was interested in music lately.

"Alright. I'll go there tomorrow morning in that case. I still have an egg to set up and supper to eat. So, I'll leave first. Don't drink too much, master." Finished Jax as he simply left the Fairy Tail guild building and went towards his own house. It wasn't hard to locate his home as he could see the mountain from afar and the trees surrounding the hill. It was almost impossible to see the interior of the house through the exterior. Still, it was completely different from the interior as it was possible to see practically all of Magnolia.

Entering the familiar walkway, Jax saw some signs that proved that the few kids whose parents wanted to buy the mountain came over again. Frowning slightly, he used the remaining sunlight to make some renovation on the barrier around the house. He added some detection traps all around the house, including in the woods outside the wooden fence and not merely on the walkway and in the trees. He then added some magic in the trees to repel anyone trying to climb over the barrier made of trees and catch them the second time they tried. It would do for the defences for the moment as he spent almost an hour on those small modifications. He had thought about creating pits and trapping them, but considering that he may have left the town to do jobs, it could be dangerous to keep them trapped for days or weeks as they would die.

Approaching the gate, he used his own token for the gate to open by itself as he made his way to his room. With the materials he had collected, he needed to start the hatching process of his Blizzardvern egg. The sooner he started, the sooner it would hatch and the sooner it would help him.
