17 Mu Lu's story (2)

In a couple of seconds, the battle was decided.

The smell of blood lingered in the air. The bodies of the dead laid in a pile. Their decaying bodies having faces of shock and horror. There was many that still had an indifferent face, it seems they knew how the battle would end.

"Better than before. That Profound treasure I gave you hasn't gone to waste!"

Ku Jin patted Mu Lu's shoulder and spoke in a proud fashion. Mu Lu was after all his disciple, he couldn't help but feel enthralled every time he imagined what kind of person his disciple would become in the future.

Mu Lu simply nodded his head and started to use the power of flames to burn the dead bodies.

"Elder, how close are you to enlightenment?"

You see, the Heavens never cared about what realm you were. Enlightenment was what brought ascension. Ascension was a mechanic that was a mystery in the eyes of the public, but many higher echelons knew that to ascend meant achieving a higher mastery over the Five Core Elements.

These Elements were what created the Universe and what could also destroy it. They were: Water, Fire, Air, Earth and The Void.

"I'm still quite far away! I have only done Water, Fire, Air and Earth. The Void is still around millennia away to master."

The old man sighed as he spoke.

"Elder, that isn't too far away. If we can get a rare treasure from Marshal Death Cave, then you could receive Enlightenment!"

Mu Lu spoke sincerely. If Ku Jin ascended, then the treasures that he had would fall upon him.

Ku Jin laughed as he shouted:

"You cheeky brat! You're thinking about the treasures you will gain after I ascend, aren't you! It's still a millennium too early!"

Mu Lu started to laugh and smile. It seemed as if he could never massacre a hoard of Heaven's Gate and Entrances.

Marshall Death Cave was a mysterious spot in the Fourth Heaven.

Firstly it was never a cave, to begin with, but someone from the old named it, so it couldn't be changed. It was actually a forest that had much wildlife and lots of biodiversity. The forest had many dangerous creatures that would kill even the strongest in a couple of seconds. The toxin in the air made it so that anybody below Heaven's Passage would instantly die if inhaling accidentally.

"Are we going to go in or what?"

Ku Jin made a lazy face as he asked Mu Lu.

Mu Lu nodded and stood behind Ku Jin.

Marshall Death Cave had signs of containing lots of treasure. Many had taken the challenge in the past to raid Marshall Death Cave. Even their bones couldn't be found.

Many Kings and Sovereigns of The Fourth Heaven had perished due to the greed for treasure from Marshall Death Cave, mistakes couldn't happen.

In front of Ku Jin was a large skull. The skull's mouth was the entrance. This was where the massive spike in Treasure Qi could be felt.

"Amazing! Even I can't seem to know how deep this Treasure Qi can go! I take it back you can't go!"

Ku Jin laughed in excitement.

Mu Lu just stood there. He was indeed quite shocked that his teacher had laughed so wholeheartedly, it seemed that this Marshall Death Cave was going to be quite the challenge.

"I'll go in! You stay outside, try not to touch any traps, even I'm not sure that I can protect myself, let alone you. Just stay behind!"

Ku Jin laughed as he walked into the Skull mouth entrance.

Mu Lu took Ku Jin's words. He was, after all, not strong enough to even place a finger onto Ku Jin's cloth, let alone trying to stand equally with Ku Jin. He would just be a hindrance.

Mu Lu watched as Ku Jin's back as he disappeared into Skull mouth entrance.

And that was the last he had ever heard from Ku Jin again...

It seemed as if Ku Jin had been wiped from existence.

There was no word from him for about a few years.

Mu Lu had to camp out in Marshall Death Cave for quite a couple of years. During that time, he felt naked. It seemed as if he was being through.

He would get weird dreams and some sort of... Connection with 'something'.

Mu Lu wasn't one to be scared. He minded his own business. He just believed that he was hallucinating from staying in Marshall Death Cave too much.

One day, Mu Lu suddenly had the urge to escape. He sensed great danger and an aura that would bring even king's to their knees.

Mu Lu had built a wooden house during the time Ku Jin had gone in. He didn't want to believe that Ku Jin had died. Though Ku Jin was his teacher, Mu Lu never had too much respect for him, after all, he would become someone that Ku Jin could only look up to the future. Mu Lu held some gratefulness, but that was it.

Mu Lu, instantly when sensing such an aura, got up and ran out of his wooden house. The house he had built seemed as if it was smashed in an instant.

-Impossible! Even the wood used to build that took me ages to even scatch!

Wood in the Heavens usually had different properties. The wood in Marshall Death Cave was known for it being tough yet beautiful. This wood would require even an Early Stage Demigod feel useless. Mu Lu could only do this because of the amount of time he had to cut the wood.

A voice sprung out of the blue:

"HAHAHA! A successor!"
