Ji Chen nodded in satisfaction at Mu Lu's envious face. He could see that Mu Lu was admiring his talent.

"It sure does feel good to be looked at with that expression!"

Ji Chen told himself.

Ji Chen had been looked at by such stares by many. But he had worn a mask that covered his eyes, and many of the envious lookers never really knew his personality. This made Ji Chen feel as if the stares were missing something... As if they were looking at an empty figure without looking at what was inside.

Since Mu Lu knew his personality, Ji Chen knew Mu Lu was truly admiring Ji Chen for his true self. That was a feeling that Ji Chen had wanted to feel for long.

Ji Chen took a step forward, entering the Portal.

The inside was blurry, bleak and deep. What was inside was the same as what could be seen from the outside. There was no ground and the powerlessness was another feeling.

Though there was no ground, Ji Chen could still use his Qi to fly.

Ji Chen saw a figure a bit further than him, it was Mu Lu. Mu Lu had seen how Portal's worked and he had a rough idea of what to do.

The Portal was a direct link to anywhere. The further away from the destination, the more stress would be put on the host. The host of the Portal, the one who activated was actually the least vulnerable when this technique was activated. This could also be a suicidal move, the Portal would make it so that it would collapse if the host was distracted or had a bad sense of Qi, but Mu Lu was still quite moved that Ji Chen could trust him so easily.

The time that Ji Chen had talked to Mu Lu was less than an hour. How was it possible to trust him this much? For an opportunity for a Heaven's Passage to kill a Divine... This was almost unheard of! Just a simple exaggerated movement could cause the whole Portal to collapse, Mu Lu was starting to trust Ji Chen more and more.

"What are you waiting for? Keep moving!"

Ji Chen showed no signs of stress, it was as if 'Portal' was just a side-trick.

"A-are you alright?"

Mu Lu stutteringly asked. Techniques like 'Portal' made the user exhausted, thirsty and powerless for quite a period of time, yet, Ji Chen didn't have any of those symptoms.

"What do you mean? I am completely fine!"

Ji Chen exclaimed.

Mu Lu nodded.

-This must be the difference between Sky God and a Divine! Never did I think it would be this great!

"What are you nodding for! Start moving, I'm feeling quite a bit powerless, don't make sudden movements or use exaggerated speed, otherwise, this whole 'Portal' will collapse!"

Ji Chen chided.

Mu Lu nodded obediently.

"Haha! Just like an obedient slav..."

Ji Chen laughed to himself but remembering Mu Lu was still sensitive to 'slave', Ji Chen stopped himself.

Mu Lu didn't comment. He just kept a cold face with a heavy expression.

Ji Chen and Mu Lu started to move, it seemed as if they were venturing deeper into the abyss.

At one point, Mu Lu turned around and faced Ji Chen:

"Are you sure you aren't uncomfortable? You still have that ring on don't you?"

Ji Chen was quite restricted in Qi Control due to him wearing the 'Blood Seal Ring'. This ring made it impossibly difficult to use Qi and his Cultivation.

"Though it is quite difficult, I can still handle it! Those three always told me to take off the ring, but their faces would always turn red when I did. Every female gets mad when I take off this ring, I'd rather not!"

Ji Chen stubbornly rebuked. Ji Chen was already quite sweaty, he looked as if he had chewed on a bitter bug.

They continued their whole journey in silence...

---POV of Marie---

I was born noble from birth. I have many admirers and followers. There are many who are jealous of the position and identity that I hold. I am one of the most genius characters in The Town of Consequence, yet I was told to pass a dirty test that required me, such an honourable person, to become a mere squad commander? I am special, how dare these maggots below my father command me?

"Speed up!"

I shouted at the lazing guards. They snapped back from their sleep and started to move whip the beasts.

I was sitting on the inside of the carriage. It was quite comfortable, there were luxurious decorations in every corner that would even make the highest echelons of the 1000 towns scream in fright.

The journey from the Town of Consequence to here was around a few thousand miles, so the ride had taken about a day. I was so bored that I had started to stop Cultivating, my inspiration for Cultivation was down to zero, I couldn't tolerate to Cultivate!

I am already The Third Layer of Human Realm! What use is it to Cultivate when I can already match the power of those Village Chiefs! Most of the younger Generation are stuck at the Mortal Realm, I, who is only 16, am a supreme Genius, the rest are all trash!
