34 A Deity! (part 1/2)

TO THE CROSSING DRAGON WATERFALL

A large orb that was covered in darkness was trying to manoeuvre it's way to the centre of the Crossing Dragon Waterfall.

"Stop it! If we don't I don't think that even all the towns have an alliance it would be enough!"

Lard exclaimed. His tension was higher than before. He was sure that if Marie had retreated, she would tell her father what had happened, which would mean the ancestor of the Rox family would move out to eliminate such a dangerous beast, sparing needs for how it would try to destroy villages or towns.

It was obvious that this beast was one of the monstrous Demonic Beasts! It would be quite difficult to identify a Demonic Beast from a Beast, but it was possible! It is said that each demonic beast had a guaranteed chance of Multi talents and had the ability to adapt to their environments. The beast that they were fighting would likely adapt to the elements the soldiers had used. It would also recover all of its wounds when something like this happened, this may cause all of the efforts that the soldiers had put in to go to waste.

This was something that the soldiers had to prevent, the fate of the villages and towns depended on this. There was a chance that the ancestor of the Rox family may come alone, being ill-informed was one of the worst disadvantages that a party could have.

If the Rox family ancestor did come alone, there would be a chance of him being annihilated in the siege! If they knew that this was actually a demonic beast, then even the whole of the continent would be willing to help! The core of a Demonic Beast was known to be a cure for nearly all known illnesses, could be used as a catalyst or even an offering! But there was one last point that made almost everyone drool in greed, and that was its ability to increase talent if consumed!

But these benefits only came if they slew the Demonic Beast and stole its core. Even if the Continent combined all their forces, they could barely kill it. Storys and legends from olden times all had shown what happened if a Demonic Beast had been released to the world. Boundless slaughter, blood and apocalyptic would be some of the bright lights that would shine down.

Really, none of this would matter, if it were not for the Rox family Ancestor dying. If he died, then that would mean the fall of the Rox Family from the other towns. If the Rox family died out, wouldn't their families become the slaves of the others? That was something that they really didn't want for to happen. After all, they had worked hard for many years to build their families and all of it would just be dashed if the Rox Family went down.

The pressure they had on them was quite real. The soldiers were running on the ground since they couldn't levitate or fly. It was because most of them weren't profound in the element of Air.

"Try attacking its shell! It is said that the orb, or otherwise known as the shell is the most vulnerable part of the Demonic Beast! If we can't attack while it is in this form, we will lose our chance of victory, if it gets into that pool of water, it is likely that it will change its element to Water and Dark!"

Lard explained. He had a frown plastered on his face. He knew that the only way that they could even contend with such a beast was likely because it was still a child! A Demonic Beast that was mature could fight on level with even the greatest of the greatest powerhouses of the continent, compared to that, this was only a child.

"ROAAAAAAAR"

It once again started to roar. It was from inside the orb. It was quite close to the source of the water, but the soldiers were a bit closer.

"Archers, fire!"

Lard commanded. Though it was quite indestructible for the first few seconds when the orb had surrounded the beast, it wasn't completely invulnerable. The orb would start off strong and hard, but it could only soak in damage for a couple of seconds before it softened and became useless. That was the reason for the beast running away.

As arrows lauched, they were closing in on the orb. The beast had noticed such a thing and had started to try to dodge them, but the orb was too big, some had hit.

There was a bit of crackling from the orb.

"Once more! Keep it going, we only have this last chance!"

Lard yelled hurriedly. The orb was closing in on the waterfall. The soldiers were near the edge of the waterfall, under the stream.

The arrows once again fired, but this time, the orb had sped up, nearly reaching the waterfall. None of the arrows had managed to hit!

"Retreat!"

To be a good leader was to know when to retreat. It was quite obvious that they absolutely no chance of stopping the orb from entering the waterfall, they had to make a retreat otherwise their lives would go to waste. Before the orb had neared the waterfall, the best choice was for them to quickly try to take it out, but now that the orb had almost entered the waterfall, making it impossible from entering the waterfall.

They had to inform the Rox Family about the Demonic Beast, otherwise, a great disaster would fall upon many!

The orb landed right in the middle of the waterfall. In a couple of seconds, the beast had turned from a black and red colour to a dark blue...
