Eye of Shadow

A world for a stage and people for puppets, seldom do they free themselves from their forced destiny's. A journey of a 150 tears and 150 false redemptions. The truth once assumed concealed is the passing joy of another, or the mocking call of the many. They are followed by the world of old viewing upon them eternal judgement, and total alienation from their past inner and outer being.

Earth

(3rd person POV)

Back on earth, people were able to at their leisure view what the connect person saw. Or on some rare occasions they were able to see in the so called first person experience. People wanted answers as to what it exactly was, and before the government could issue a statement anywhere people started digging on their own.

The people who they all saw in the screen were all reported missing by family members, acquentices, or employers on social media before any response could be made. Conspirincies mixed from aliens, to the rapture but nobody had a clue as to who or what caused it. It took a few days but finally a US government statement was issued publicly condemning the kidnapping and unlawful conduct of the unkown terrorist organization.

But instead of causing any form of answer it perplexed more people then ever, since other alternative governments like China, Russia and certain EU nations all lobbied it was not from any known organization or could possibly be done by them. It was agreed upon first that it was some kind of attack, but others didn't agree to the statement and held it to be a warning from god.

The most bizarre was the fact it reached everyone in the world instantly even those not conscious at all, or were in medically induced comas. People who were at hospitals in comas still had their screen public to see without any way to turn it off. People tested all sorts of things but only a few things got confirmed by people in the world of disinformation. You could sleep in the first first person mode and literally become the other person. The topics regarding how it worked was something heavily debated but it was a complete fact, that anyone could invoke by mere thinking of it.

The voting system showed that they could chose by who was still alive to see their view point, it would read off the names of the people still alive and ask them to select one vote. The majority of the votes were usually to people nearby the person already connected, and they only had a very short voting window.

Watching the zombie on the screen, anyone who held the belief it was still the same world as their own was quickly disrupted, the general consensus was that it was some kind of different world that was not similar to their own. They knew the teenager who ran off was still alive somewhere in that world but they were more focused on voting to see the next group leader's view point or try to feel a hot girl's body in first person. So Vorruck was forgotten to a large extent, merely the fact he didn't turn into a zombie at the time of being bitten was all he had known about him.

Anyone not near the connected person was like a ghost that didn't exist until the voting came and they knew they were still alive somewhere. But the thing that shocked them and some even had heart attacks over was the stabbing of Ebon. Millions were in first person feeling the knife slide into the body and the inability to fight back at all and scream made many need therapy afterward.

The sensation of dying in the hands of another was something nobody alive felt before as their very own life slipped away, only for it to end and wake up in their own body the way they left it fine.
