"The trench depth needs to be at the least a full head deep, but preferably a few more heads deeper for cover. And wide enough for three men to stand on each side of it."

She was giving a demonstration to the entire army, she dug a simple line trench in the ground at a spot using undead. They didn't arrive yet, but she wanted them all set to start work on it tomorrow when they did arrive. The demonstration explained a lot to them, what they were digging out and why.

"So if you fail to dig this out fast enough, the enemy might just shoot us to death. I have also received this letter today!"

It came directly from the blood mage by one of his men, it was written in demon tongue preventing outsiders to read it easily.

"The soldiers the desert battle, surrender, or betray orders will be executed using Voodoo. There is no escape, there is only way to survive! That is to hold that entrance at all costs!"

The soldiers looked shocked, and some were angry at the news.

"What the hell! I shouldn't have come here!"

"We are just bait aren't we!?"

"Calm down! I am also on the same boat, if I chose to leave the battlefield I will also die. So if you want to live, you better fight like it!"

The soldiers looked at her, and some were still angry but remained silent. The majority realized they really were stuck here, and with the group whore no less as the leader. Despair was visible on some, but they pushed through it.

The old rail system was on the ground for their path, the system was perfectly preserved only being a month ago it was used. The season was changing to the rainy season, but it didn't rain on them yet, the next day they arrived at their fated destination.

"So this is it, home sweet home huh."

"At least their is lumber to gather nearby, and fresh water."

They had a fresh water source that was past the sloped entry and two cliffs, the first thing she did was place a scout on each cliff top.

"Let's get started! I want you all digging the trenches in rings going down the slope, start from the top."

She began ordering where they go, and they all began digging. The undead she summoned began working on it too, she was going to build trenches around the slope going down. The trenches were simple with them setting up tents for living in as they worked, the slope was heavily pitched.

"With the slope being so big, and so pitched even without any defenses it would take them hours to reach the top with defenders on it."

"That's good, but we need a full year not hours."

Her hundred plus undead were not using tools and dug with their hands, they worked all night when the sun didn't weaken her undead slightly. She could also last longer instead of a few hours, they worked all night.
