The Divorce

When they say arranged marriages never go well, sometimes they are wrong, but in this case, they are right. "I told you to divorce my son, he is a business lord and you are an amnesiac girl who can't even remember her own past." Ahmad's mom said harshly. Aisha stared back at her, her tongue was tangled giving Ahmad's mom the advantage to speak again.

"Do you remember who brought you in? My husband, not me, a fool to think you would make a suitable wife, if not for your dead father! Aisha Salih, you are to file a divorce or else I will."

"I have done nothing wrong," Aisha said quietly.

"Your very existence is wrong!" Mrs. Asfour yelled, "It is Khadija next door that I want as my daughter-in-law and not you!"

"Fine"

Khadija has come from the Babour family and is close friends Asfour Family. They have always wanted to marry her to their son, but when Aisha's father past away, Mr. Asfour felt bad for the Amnesic girl and took her in as a wife to his son. However, no one knew how disapproving Mrs. Asfour felt towards this arrangement. Every moment she got with Aisha alone, she would demean and humiliate her until she felt satisfied.

"Leave!" Mrs. Asfour Yelled realizing the clock was ticking away without her response.

"Ok" Aisha replied quietly.

"Don't you dare talk back again!" She yelled as the girl left the room.

Aisha hated her life in the Asfour household. No one approved of her marriage to begin with and treated her like gum under their shoes. Of course, Ahmad, being who he is with good manners always treated her respectfully, but she couldn't help but feel miserable through all this. She left to the nursery where her son lay and a tear slowly dripped down her face. How can she leave him here when he is only half a year old. Growing up without both his parents will make him feel like a piece of his life is missing. However, she knew what she had to do. She went up to her husband's office and opened the door. He looked up from his work and asked, "May I help you?"

"I want a divorce," she said.

"Ok"

She left his study.

After a few days, the divorce was finalized and Ahmad got to have custody of his son with Aisha's approval since he can take better care of him with all the money he has. He prepared an alimony of $100,000,000 for his ex-wife to survive off. He handed the check to his mom to give to her. When he left, Mrs. Asfour took the check and ripped it up.
