Prologue | Welcome to the Killing Game

Extreme Knife's Edge is a popular game show that sixteen students are put into a randomly picked location against one another and they have to murder their peers until only one remained. It appealed to a lot of high schoolers. Especially to the Gifted Protagonist themself. Reilly Costanova, stared at the screen intensely as they watched the students kill each other off one by one with gruesome ways in the fourteenth season of Extreme Knife's edge, where they were currently in the randomly generated arena of a hotel and water park. There were only eight students still alive at that exact moment.

Reilly wasn't fully there in the head. They enjoyed watching the murder show, and they dreamed of joining the game in one of the seasons and watching the game was their favourite pass time. Never mind homework, they rather watch it than do homework. They were in class when it was revealed that auditions were being held for season 15 halfway throughout season 14. At that news, Reilly's usually bored eyes lit up like a child on Christmas, and they ran straight home at the end of the day, broke out their parent's recording camera and recorded their audition, thinking nothing much of it. "My name is Reilly, Costanova, from Hainaki Shimuri School for Gifted Students. I am auditioning for Extreme Knife's Edge season 15! I am the Gifted Protagonist, and I would do a good job at playing the game because I know there have been no Gifted Protagonists, and I believe that I am meant to progress the game and win! If I had to, I would make sure to torture my victim, or victims, slowly before killing them off to end their miserable lives!" They say with a laugh, before stopping the recording. It was only meant to be a couple of seconds short. "nothing too long" Reilly mumbles to themself as they import their video and upload it to the website that had open auditions and sent it in. Knowing there was only a 50/50 chance of being picked with THOUSANDS of different gifted students that were probably auditioning with them, they didn't care if they got in. Reilly tried and that's all that mattered to them. They resumed watching the program that day and couldn't help but find the little flaws in the crime scene that lead to the culprit before the current gifted themselves figured it out.

After a week of agonizing wait, the winner that last stood, the gifted Assassin boy named Kaname Elizabeth, had finished off his final peer by stabbing knives into the wall through their hands, and then slit their throat with his katana. He has rewarded his freedom, and the season ended. Then, not even a week later, it was announced 16 participants of the 15th season were picked, with the winner of season 14 being forced to take part again with no memory of the previous season. It has been that rule since Extreme Knife's Edge began.

Reilly stared out the window, bored, as their teacher drowned their ears in useless survival tips and tricks due to being in the military before teaching.

They were aimlessly doodling on the page in their notebook, not really paying much attention to it. "Mx. Costanova, this is not an art class. Please stop drawing and pay attention to the lesson." Their teacher called to them, snapping them out of their mindscape. The class gave a quiet laugh. "Hm? Oh, sorry." They apologized blankly, and the teacher picked up where he had left off in his lecture. When the bell rang, signalling their freedom from school, Reilly gathered their items and headed down the hall towards the entrance foyer, but not without hearing the usual words spoken behind their back.

"Look, it's that... fan crazy, Extreme Knife's Edge fan... ugh." - "apparently they auditioned for the 15th season coming up." - "if they get in, I bet they're the first to die!" The group giggle amongst each other as Reilly walked by.

They didn't really care, they weren't bothered by the bullies that whispered and laughed about them behind their back. It wasn't different from the past times it had happened, they grew numb of it eventually. It actually pissed them off at how they brushed off the tragedy of Chaos as just a story or just a part of the past. "how sick of them..." Reilly hissed to themself, gritting their teeth as they walk down the stone steps of their school.

The walk home that evening was peaceful for Reilly. Nobody from their school lived in their neighbourhood, so they didn't deal with them heading home. As their house came up, they notice the mailbox had its flag up, notifying that they had mail. They open the lid with a creak, and peered in, seeing the letter addressed to them. They close it and put the flag pole down, heading inside with a quiet sigh. "Probably just my grandparents sending me a letter to see how my schooling is..." they thought, as they closed the front door behind them.

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!"

They call out in the bright house once they made sure the white painted wood was closed properly. "Welcome home, Reilly!" Their mother calls from the kitchen. They took their shoes off at the front door and walked deeper into the house. The Costanova family house was a regular 1500 sq ft, two-floored house an average income family lived in. "Hi, mom... where's dad?" They asked their mom. M/n turned and looked at her child with the hard expression she had whenever talking about something she doesn't want to. "He had business to attend to." Is all she sarcastically said as she returned to preparing dinner. Reilly set their bag down on the floor and sat at the island, putting the sealed letter on the table. "I got a letter today." - "oh? Who's it from?" She asked, turning to face her child, interested. "I don't know, I haven't opened it yet," Reilly admits, shrugging their shoulders. "Well? Open it." Their mother beckoned, seeming very excited to see what it was as she put her hands on the island's counter. They took the sealed letter and broke the seal, opening it. They pull the paper out and unfolded it.

Dear Participant,

As the host of Extreme Knife's Edge, I would like to congratulate you on being picked to participate in the 15th season!

This season's generated location takes place at Hokkaido Wakkanai High School for Gifted Students, where it's your job to be the winner by Murdering your fellow peers until you're the last one standing. Of course, you won't remember reading this when we come to pick you up, but I wanted to wish you the best of luck!

May the last person standing win!

Principal Monoia Kumaina.

Reilly looked at their mother, who was looking at them excited to hear who it was from. "Mom... I... got picked to participate in Extreme Knife's Edge..." that wiped their mom's happy expression off her face. "WHAT?! You AUDITIONED after we told you not to?!" She exclaimed. "Yes. Yes, I did." - "you are NOT participating!" - "I have no choice! I got picked, I have to." She recoiled at her child's words, before looking ashamed. "Go to your room. You DISOBEYED, me and your father." - "Fine! It's not like he actually cared about us in the first place, so why should he care I am taking part in the gamble for my life!?" Reilly shot back, taking the letter with them as they stood from their chair and ran up to their room, slamming the door shut behind them. They sat on the bed and sighed. They laid on their back, staring at the ceiling with an unamused expression dawned on their face. "Whatever. It doesn't matter if you want me to participate or not... I'm going to play my role in the game!" They grumble to themselves as they closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep.

A few weeks passed and they forgot about being selected to participate in season 15 of Extreme Knife's Edge. They woke up like normal and got ready for school in the empty house looking bored. Reilly was normally the last to leave the house and was the last to return home. They exit the quiet, dark house, that morning and locked the door behind them. As Reilly put their keys in their pocket, they began their long walk to the hell they called school. During the long walk there, a car slowed beside them. The window lowered to reveal a man with black shades over his eyes. "You. Are you Reilly Costanova?" He asked. "Uh... yeah...?" Reilly replied, confused. "Get them, boys!" The man exclaimed and in a flash, a man grabbed Reilly's arms and pinned them behind them, while another man wrapped a rag around their mouth and nose. They smelled a chemical that made their eyelids slowly slide closed.

.

When Reilly reawakened, they were laying underneath a desk. They sat up from the cold, hard floor as much as they could without hitting their head on the desk looming above them and quickly looked down at their clothes, seeing that they were in their school uniform still. They sigh in relief, and then looked around the room. It appeared that they were alone in the, surprisingly well lit, classroom. They climb out from underneath the desk and notice the desk where they normally sat in school with their school bag was under the window with plexiglass instead of the regular glass. Reilly looked out the window to see that they appeared to be in an abandoned suburban area with the sun setting. "Huh?? Why is the sun going down... and where am I?! This isn't my school!" They asked themself quietly. The sound of the doorknob turning snapped Reilly's attention to the door, making them raise their guard.

The door opened to reveal a boy her age with hazel brown hair, a pair of glasses over his chocolate eyes, a forest green t-shirt under his unbuttoned, pale green jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers. Bracelets littered his arms as a watch rested on his left wrist. He looked just as confused as Reilly while he entered the room carefully. "Hey... do... do you know where we are...?" He asked them cautiously, fear evident in his eyes. "No... I don't... you?" Reilly asked with the same caution as he had. "Nope. I just woke up in the classroom down the hall, all alone." He says, pointing back down the way he came from. "Me too... I just woke up here. In this classroom." Reilly sighed.

"Oh... well, my name is Kim Saeyoung Choi, I'm the Gifted KPop singer. You can just call me Kim if you would like..." - "Oh, that's where I heard of you before! You produced a lot of popular KPop songs these past few years. You even produced a song with the Korean boy band last year." Reilly says, pointing to the Korean boy in front of them, after putting the pieces together of why his name sounded familiar. "Indeed I did... although, I don't like people making that connection..." he sweatdropped with an uneven smile. "Well, it nice to meet you, Kim. My name is Reilly Costanova, I'm known to many as the Gifted Protagonist." Reilly introduced themself, and Kim looked at them confused. "the Gifted... Protagonist? I didn't know that Gifted Title existed... that's really cool." He bashfully smiled. Reilly grinned. "Everyone says that." Reilly sighed. Kim then points behind him at the door. "Wanna head out and see if there are any more people out there? I have a feeling we're not alone here." - "sure-" before Reilly could finish their thought, the announcement system came on.

"Is this thing on? Oh... ahem. Attention! Attention all students! Please report to the front foyer as soon as possible for a meeting with the Principal. I repeat; Please report to the front foyer as soon as possible." A pitched voice came through the speaker, and just as fast as it turned on, it turned off.

"The Front Foyer?" Kim asked. "Perhaps we should head there. Other students should be there too." Reilly suggested. Kim gave a firm nod of agreement, and they ran out of the classroom, the wood door slamming shut behind them as they ran out into the hall. They look to the right, into the silently ominous, empty hallway and slowly began walking down the long corridor, looking at all the papers, and flyers that littered the walls. Advertisements for different clubs and events were written on the papers stuck to the reddish-orange bricked wall, unevenly littered. Some were bunched together, over top of each other in some places, but many were spaced out along the long wall. To both Reilly and Kim, it looked like a normal high school for Gifted students. It had rooms for them to practise their Gifted Title in together, and classrooms for homeroom. The sound of metal hitting the floor faintly came from behind, making Reilly and Kim stop on their tracks from fear. They turn and look back to see a small figure running towards them with a large figure following behind. As the person came closer at a fast speed, Reilly's eyes widen at the realization.

"Kim, run! That person is being chased!" Reilly exclaim as they turned back forward and ran, the person caught up with the two and Kim followed Reilly's demand and the three of them ran down the hall and around a corner, through a large door, and they jumped, miscalculated, from a really small flight of stairs onto the ground in the Front Foyer, where 13 other students their age looked at them confused, annoyed, or concerned.

"Hey! Are you okay?!" A girl in a mint green trench coat exclaimed, rushing over to their aid. She crouched down beside them, adjusting her black lensed glasses. "We're fine..." the ginger-haired boy breathlessly says, as his rats poke their heads out of the neck hole of his orange hoodie happily. "Good! Don't need anyone getting hurt here." The girl sighed in relief. "My name is Leslie Kindlewood, the Gifted Doctor!" She greeted. "I'm Reilly Costanova, the Gifted Protagonist, this is Kim Saeyoung Choi, the Gifted KPop singer-" Kim gave a small wave. "And I don't know who he is." Reilly says, pointing to the boy talking to his rats. He looked up and gave an unusual smile. "My name is Eamon Cole, the Gifted Animal Caretaker!" He introduces himself, when suddenly, a sarcastic laugh came from one of the other students, snapping everyone's attention to the boy in mostly black. "Eamon? What a name." The fiery redhead calmly says, his eyes closed with, perhaps a smirk on his face that was hidden by his face mask, as Leslie helped the three students up onto their feet. "Oh yeah?! And what about you, punk??? What's YOUR name??" Eamon angrily snapped. His blue eyes open and met Eamon's gaze in a narrowed glare.

"My name is Kaname Elizabeth, I'm the Gifted Assassin." - "ELIZABETH?! what a surname!" Eamon gave a sarcastic laugh, glaring at Kaname as he mocked him. "You little-!" It ticked Kaname off because he went to walk over to Eamon with gritted teeth that were covered by his mask. "Guys! Relax!" A brown-haired girl with a school uniform says, running in between them while trying to defuse the tense situation. Her body was tense from the argument that was about to ensue. Reilly's gaze travelled to the rest of the unknown students. Suddenly, a pair of hands slap themselves on to Reilly's shoulders, making them jump in surprise. They turn to the messy, orange-haired girl with Heterochromia, blue and red, eyes. She clapped her hands together with a deranged smile on her face. "I scared you! Hah! The old trick still works!" - "what trick??" Reilly asked in distress, a sweat bead sliding down their face. "My cloaking trick, silly!" She grinned. "I am the Gifted Witch, Lucinda Evergreen!" She introduced and pointed to her own self, giggling quietly as though she was trying to hold back a loud laugh. "And you're Mx. Reilly Costanova, the Gifted Protagonist!" She points to them, her hand flicking to them quite unnaturally fast and sharp. "How did you-?" - "We had the same Phys. Ed class in Middle School!" Reilly's mouth went into the shape of an 'O' as Lucinda skipped off, back towards her previous spot. "Hate to interrupt this meeting, but has anyone have a clue where the hell we are?" The black-haired, aqua eyed boy in a soccer uniform demanded, crossing his arms. The sixteen of them stood in silence in the foyer, unsure if anyone knew the answer to his question. Nobody moved or said anything, but looked in between each other with a shake of their heads. "You are at school!" The pitched voice from the announcement system exclaimed, making the entire student body look around the room. "Who are you?! Show yourself!!" Two coloured, half-shaved haired girl exclaimed aggressively, annoyed at the voice already. There, hopping up on to the welcome ceremony set up's pedestal, a child with half pink, half purple hair, wearing a suit. He had a big grin on his face as his Ice Blue and Fiery Red mixed eyes shone with mischief. "What is that thing?!" Kim exclaimed. "Hey! I'm not a Thing! I am Monoia Kumaina, your headmaster!!" He exclaimed, ticked off. Kim recoiled and nearly fell back onto Eamon. "H-He's talking... the CHILD." Kim mumbled to himself

"Monoia... Kumaina?" A pastel pink haired girl asked quietly, clenching her gloved hands against her chest as she stepped forward slightly with the rest of the students that Reilly didn't know their names, or their Gifted Titles yet. "Correct! Welcome to Hokkaido Wakkanai High School for Gifted Students, where you will be spending the time here murdering each other!" Everyone gasps in horror. "M-Murder?!" A boy in front asked. "Yes! Bludgeoning, Stabbing, Drowning, Poisoning, Suffocating, all of that, to win!" - "win what?!" The shaved head girl snapped. "Win your freedom," Monoia says calmly. "You are all currently locked in this school mixed living campus with no way out. But... if you murder someone and you get away with it, you win your freedom, at the price of everyone else's lives." Everyone looked at him with hopelessness. Reilly couldn't help but feel the hopelessness that radiated off of everyone thanks to Monoia's words. "I... must murder someone... to see my parents again...?" They ask themself. "You all have your own student handbooks, filled with the rules, the map of the school, and your profiles in your pocket, so there shouldn't be any reason as to why someone else has yours unless it is to be used for framing each other. That's all for now! Enjoy your time here, kiddos!" Monoia says as he disappeared behind the pedestal. "... what do we do? We're... trapped here..." Kim whispered to himself, looking lost and unsure of what to do with himself. "Question is... why is a child making us, teenagers, murder each other? Does he have a sick thought on reality and finds this entertaining?" Eamon quietly asked. "This is SO not cool." The electric blue pigtailed girl sighed while throwing her arms up in the air, as her electric pink-haired sister stood beside her quietly. "Nothing about this school is okay, Hanaya..." her sister mumbled quietly, catching the attention of the girl beside them "Aren't you a really popular Vocaloid Artist?" The purple banged girl asked. "I am. The name is Hanaya Mikai, the Gifted Vocaloid Artist; and this is my sister, Saki Mikai, the Gifted Stage Manager." - "oh yeah! You go by Hatsume Miku on stage." She points out to Hanaya. "It's a pleasure meeting you! I am Jessica Hall, the Gifted Hairstylist."

"Guys! We need to figure out our surroundings. Before we do that, let's read up on the rules so we don't anger... The child." Everyone nodded and opened their Handbook. Reilly opened their handbook to their profile, and they clicked the rules button to the right of the screen, revealing a long list of rules. "The gates accessing the school building's dormitories close at 2 am. Any violence against the Principal is prohibited. Any unauthorized entry to any administrative room is Strictly Prohibited. Stay in your specific gendered bathrooms all over the school building. Leave the doors to your dorm rooms unlocked unless you are using it-" As Reilly read through them all, they felt themselves question it. "Why are there so many rules about... times and prohibited areas?" No answer came to answer their thought. "Perhaps it's best if we split up and search the entire floor, see what we can find. We can return here to report our findings." Saki quietly says.

Everyone agreed, but Reilly had a bad feeling. "But what if someone actually murders someone?" They ask. "Nobody WANTS to murder here, Gifted Protagonist. Don't worry your pretty little head." Kaname says as the group split to the two different hallways, while one person stayed at the front foyer. "What are you doing?" - "I-I just wanted to check out if I can get the gate unlocked... uh... I'm Summer Marie Nyūton... the Gifted Arts Prodigy..." - "I'm Reilly Costanova, the Gifted-" - "protagonist. I know. Kaname said it out loud," Summer says with a shy smile. "What do you do to get it?" Summer asked. "My Gifted Title? I guess it's because I get the lead roles in activities and such and do it so well. How about you?" Summer shrugged. "I just do art. Photography, Sculpting, Drawing, Painting, Fashion, Digital, Singing, Dancing, Acting... everything in that area." Summer says softly with a smile, looking down at her feet before returning her attention to the locked gate in front of her, ending the brief conversation. With that, Reilly, accompanied by Kim, went to the way they came from, only to find the monster chasing Eamon was gone. "Wait... what the hell?!" Reilly exclaims, looking frantically around, only to not see it anywhere. "Where'd it go?!" They asked. Kim shrugged nervously as they continued down the hall. "I want to explore the classroom I woke up in... I want to know if I can find something that might prove to be helpful for us.." Reilly says with a sigh, as they turn and enter the classroom with the turn of its handle. As Reilly entered the classroom, the student already inside it stopped what he was doing and looked at them curiously. "Hi... sorry. I'm just here to look for something... but I guess you guys beat me to it." - "Yes... I suppose we did. My apologies." He says politely. Reilly quickly returns to the hallway with Kim. They walk past the two classrooms they came from, and down the doorway leading to the hallway that Eamon came from. Almost immediately after walking through the doorway, they were greeted by a door with a sign above the door with the words Nurse's Office on it. "You keep going, I'll check in here." Kim nodded as Reilly walked towards the Nurse's door. They watched Kim disappear around the corner before they opened the Nurse's Office door slowly and quietly only to have it open quickly by Leslie Kindlewood, the Gifted Doctor who was the only one in the medical field that they knew of. "Oh, why hello there Reilly! Did you need anything?" She asked the Protagonist who was standing in the open doorway. They simply shook their head. "Uh, no. Just wanted to know what was in here." - "oh! Well, it's my Gifted Office! Come on in." Leslie says, moving away from the door. Reilly entered and closed the door behind them as they look around the white, pristine room. "Very clean." They comment. "Indeed. This room is like a walk-in Hospital. It has a heart monitor, blood infusions, casts, medications, lethal drugs, powdered vitamins, etc! It's so cool!" Leslie smiles brightly, pointing at everything in the room that would be in a hospital. Reilly nodded. "Indeed, it is cool. I'm guessing you're spending time organizing everything, huh?" they asked, pointing to the desk covered in bottles of unknownities. "Indeed. Nothing was in the correct spot, so I took it upon myself to fix it!" Leslie said proudly with a wide smile. "that's cool... I better keep looking around. Thanks for your time, Leslie." - "Aw, it's no problem! We'll meet up at the front foyer in twenty minutes!" Leslie says as Reilly left the room. Kim returned to Reilly. "Anything?" - "just an elevator that won't open. Gate or door." - "huh. Maybe it leads to the other floors?" - "maybe." He shrugs. Reilly looked at the wall before sighing in disappointment. "Damn it... We know almost nothing about this place, and now we have to live here and murder each other??" Kim doesn't answer, he just stood there in almost awkward silence. "I'll stay and try to figure out if we can open it. You continue looking around." Kim suggests. Reilly nodded in agreement. "Okay. You take care of yourself."

"Always. You too." Kim says as the two-part ways. Reilly began backtracking the way they came from. As they walked past Summer, trying to pick at the gate, they could hear someone screaming at someone.

"YOU LEAVE HER THE FUCK ALONE BEFORE I PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE!"

Reilly and Summer both quickly rushed to the source of the screaming, which was in the Hairdressing Office with Eamon glaring at Kaname, who was looking at Jessica's shaking form, but was returning Eamon's deadly glare. "What's going on here?!" Lucinda asked excitedly, joining Summer and Reilly as a witness of the argument that persued. "Mr. Edge Lord doesn't know how to back off!" Eamon hissed. "Oh, I'm SORRY that your sour for the fact that I was speaking the truth." - "guys! Break it up!" Reilly exclaimed, stepping in between the two and pushed them both firmly back away from each other with their hands. They continued to glare at each other until Kaname scoffed. "Fine. Don't say I didn't tell you the truth." He grumbled as he left the room rudely shouldering Reilly as he left. "Rude..." they mumble as Kaname disappeared.

Reilly let out a quick sigh before looking at Eamon and Jessica. "Everyone okay in here?" Reilly asked the two friends. "Yes... thanks for stopping in." Jessica sighed in relief as the tension in the room faded away with Kaname. Summer joined them shortly, quietly whispering something to Eamon that Reilly couldn't pick up from where they stood. "Anytime. I'll be around, see you guys at the front foyer." The group nods as Reilly left the room. They walk to the left, past the bathrooms and poke their head into the cafeteria's doorway, to see Saki in the cafeteria, watching Hanaya with an unamused look as she was running around the cafeteria, chasing the shaved head girl who was screaming curses at the top of her lungs. Reilly only shook their head as they continued down the hall. When they came to a flight of stairs leading down, they slowly walked down to the floor labelled "Living", which Reilly discovered was their bedrooms and personal bathrooms.

They slowly walked by each of the sixteen doors to find theirs, and when they finally found it, they open the door and entered. It was a cream coloured room, with the standard bedroom items. Bed, dresser, lights, things to do while in the bedroom when bored and alone. Then there was the door in the far corner closest to the door. Reilly approached the door and tried the knob. It creaked open with Reilly's force input, illuminating the darkroom with the beam of light from the lights in their room, revealing the private bathroom with a shower. They close the door with their nameplate sitting on its wood, and they headed back up to the front foyer, where the students were already beginning to gather in. "Hey, Reilly!" Lucinda greeted, skipping over to the Gifted Protagonist with a bright, creepy smile on her face. "Hey Lucinda.." they greeted back nervously as Lucinda hung off of Reilly like a koala. "Since we're all together now, we're going to reveal what we discovered." The aqua eyed boy spoke up. "Who wants to start?" Kim immediately rose his hand when that was asked.

"I found an elevator that doesn't open," Kim says. "I discovered two Gifted Offices. The Hairdresser's Office and the Nurse's Office is a single hospital room." Reilly says. "The stairs leading upward are locked, and the gate wasn't unlocking no matter how hard I tried to pick the lock," Summer says quietly. "The kitchen is always well-stocked, Monoia popped up and told me and Saki that there's no worry about the shortage of food," Hanaya says, distracted with braiding Saki's hair. "For real?" Jessica asked. "It's definitely real." Saki nodded. "Oh hell yeah. Free infinite food." Jessica quietly cheered to herself. Kaname rolled his eyes before opening his mouth. "Anything else?" Nobody answered.

"Seems like that's all for today... we'll meet in the cafeteria again tomorrow unless Monoia calls for us to meet somewhere else." - "wait. Before we disband, I want to point something out. While I was going through my bedroom, I noticed I had a hammer in one of my dresser drawers. Perhaps we should promise not to leave our rooms during night hours stated on the handbook..." the boy with brown and blonde-streaked hair from Reilly's awakening classroom suggests. "Okay, then! We'll all promise not to leave our rooms during night hours, right?" Everyone nods in agreement. "Okay. Good."

There was a four ringing sound of a bell echoing through the school, catching everyone's attention.

The announcement system turned on. "Ahem. This is a school announcement. It is now 11 PM, which means it is officially Night time. The gates leading to the school building from the Dormitories will be closed in three hours. Goodnight everyone!" Monoia says through the announcement system before it went silent. "Since it is our first night here... we should get some sleep." Everyone nodded in agreement with that statement put out by Eamon. "Well then, we'll see each other in the morning." With those words, everyone turned and headed down to their rooms in the basement. Reilly, after entering their bedroom, locked the door and sat on the soft bed, their eyes travelling around the room. "What are we going to do? What'll happen if... we don't do what he wants? Will we all die?" they wonder to themselves as they flopped onto their back on the bed, staring at the ceiling above them. The lights soon dimmed to a more 'night-time' appropriate tone, startling Reilly slightly. Their eyes soon felt heavy and so, Reilly laid down more comfortably on the bed, and closed their eyes, slipping in a night of peaceful sleep.
