"Sir, I want some water."
Hearing this, Xu Jingxi turned back while holding the baby.
The young girl on the pristine hospital bed tilted her head, looking at him with a pitiful expression.
Xu Jingxi smiled as he teased, "How old are you now, and you still have to inform me every time you need a drink?"
"Oh, the baby is more important than me."
She wasn't angry, though; Leh Ying turned over with a smile.
The next second, Xu Jingxi took a big step forward, just about to put the baby back in the crib, when the tiny infant opened its little mouth, ready to cry. He bent down, a kiss landing on the soft forehead of the baby, who immediately settled down, kicked its little hands, and laid down to sleep.
Easier to soothe than Leh Ying.
He looked at the grown-up on the bed waiting for him to give her water, feeling utterly helpless and yet wanting to laugh.
