157 Welcome To My Kingdom

Next day I woke up when Rose was trying to sneak out of bed. I couldn't let her do that, so I surrounded her with my arms and brought her back to bed.

"Kyaa! Hey! Let me go!"

"Never!"

She fought back a little trying to get out, so I had to use the dirtiest trick possible to prevent her from leaving… Tickle her. She started to laugh desperately and tried to escape even harder.

"Stop! I surrender!!"

I stopped tickling her and snuggled her into my chest.

"Whatever… you ruined the surprise anyway."

She said rearranging her self into a more comfortable position, she also tried to tickle me back in revenge but I had my enhanced touch sense off, and when that was paired with my defensive capabilities her tickles had no effect.

"Surprise?"

"I wanted to bring you breakfast to bed and stay in bed until noon."

That sounded nice…

I felt a little bad about ruining the surprise but knowing that tonight we weren't going to be able to sleep together, I wanted to enjoy every second with her at my side.

At the thought of enjoying our time together, last night came to my mind… If I said that we went to sleep early, it would have been a lie. After leaving the living room, we went to our room, but instead of sleeping, we decided that there were better ways to use our time.

It has been a while since we had time to be alone like that, so we enjoyed our time together, Rose even asked me to use lust inducement out of curiosity, but I resisted the impulse and denied her request… at least for now. There was enough passion anyway, so It wasn't necessary.

The main reason that I didn't use that ability was that I have no idea how strong the effect is. It's an F-Rank ability but emotions work in weird ways, and in a situation like that thing can get a little out off hand… and I want our first time to be somewhat special…. Or at least do it without the feeling that I drug her with a weird power.

I looked at the cute girl on my arms and gave her a soft peck on the lips.

"We can still wait until everyone leaves and go get the food."

She nodded with her eyes closed and tightened our hug pressing her body against mine. We stayed there silently for a while until I felt G leaving.

Hayley was going to the warehouse in the morning to leave everything ready and then meet us at Hunting Team HQ at noon, only Hope was at home, and unless she has something to do, I don't think she will leave.

After a while, we went to raid the kitchen and came back to our room.

Surprisingly Hope also left after a while. I ate breakfast with Rose and enjoyed my morning for the first time in a while spoiling my girlfriend and by just being lazy.

All good thing come to an end eventually, and at noon I had to go and get ready for the mission.

"Rose… I have to go."

She nodded without letting me go, I didn't make any effort to leave neither.

"Like… right now…"

We didn't want to move, but after a few seconds we gathered our willpower and left the bed.

"Are you going to catch up later?"

"I'm gonna be with Paws and Cai-Cai during the afternoon. I will go to you at sunset, there is no use going before that."

I nodded and kissed her lips again before getting ready to leave the house.

Rose went to the living room as I changed into my new uniform. I noticed that the quality wasn't as good as before, but the mobility was the same. On the bright side, it had more pockets, I think that they just didn't have another set like the one that I had before, so they look for the best alternative.

I attached the snakeskin bag on my lower back, the Five-seveN had its spot already on a holster on my tight pockets were filled with the daggers. Finally, I put the Kukri and the tomahawk on my sides. I was about to leave when I remembered the spear, and after thinking for a few seconds, I decided to take it with me too.

If things go wrong, this weapon might be a good alternative for attacking, and I plan to use a shorter version of this one, so it's an excellent training opportunity. Luckily, it wasn't that long or heavy(at least for me), so it didn't hinder my movements while it was crossed on my back. In the end, I check the bullet, but I still had most of the ones that I bought last time, so I didn't need more.

I looked at the sky while I was walking at an average pace.

I haven't felt Chambers spying, so the probabilities of being found out were minimal, the only way for them to know that there is something up, it's either Chambers checking by chance or one of Pollard's pets. With Dante in Green Shelter, the possibility of a beast getting inside and discovering what we were doing was almost zero. And the chances of Chamber noticing us just at the moment that we get into the sewers was also low since it has to be by coincidence.

With Dante's help, we mapped the sewers and found a route from here to the NDR base, we had a guide for this, but we need to have an idea about where we were going.

We were going to descend here in Green Shelter, when we got into the sewers, a rat's team were going to guide us towards Pinky's secret base… as Dante called it.

Besides telling me that Pinky was a stupid and weird rat I didn't know too much about him, but despite what Dante said I knew that he had Pinky on high esteem despite his hate for rats and mice.

'No~… that's not true~… shut up~…'

Tsundere Dante also instructed me to take something that was on the house… I have no idea why but it was a triangular piece wrapped with what seemed to be some kind of light blue leather…

After looking at it for a while, I noticed that it was probably from one of the times that Cai-Cai changed her skin. I was going to unwrap the piece to take a look at it, but Dante stopped me.

'Nooo~. Leave just like that, it's for Pinky… tell him that Cai-Cai sent it to him for being a good rat.'

I looked at him trying to get an explanation out of him… al I got from him was.

'You will get it when you meet him… if he says something stupid just ignore it and play along with him.'

That was all he said, all of us were getting curious about this mysterious white lab rat, and Hayley was a little eager to meet the rat.

Once we were all ready we started moving, our first objective was to get to a sewer cap about a block away from here without being detected.

We just moved there, unless we were unlucky Chambers wasn't going to watch us at that moment. With Mark's help, we took out the cap and descended. Mark put back the cap before coming down, and the place became pitch black.

I could see a little, but to the others, it was impossible to see what was happening. Luckily, we have recovered an essential piece of technology that proved to be vital for our mission…

The flashlight was charged by turning a handle quickly, Of course, there were regular flashlights that work sun-batteries, but the technology hasn't reached a point where the cells work long enough, so for this environment, these ones were better.

The tunnel was illuminated by the two flashlights that we had on our hands.

At our feet, four fat and brown rats were looking at us. They started to run towards the east, and we began to follow them. The light was weak, and the floor wasn't that clear… I don't want to know what I just step on. Also, I had to completely shut down my sense of smell while we were following those rats I would have gone crazy otherwise.

Since we couldn't see the floor, we had to be careful about where we step on. Hayley had her hand on my jacket to follow my steps. After a few twist and turns, I knew that we were heading toward the south and we should be about three blocks away to the southeast of the southern gate.

I was getting bored of walking, but suddenly I noticed light coming from the next turn far away.

We arrived at a chamber with thousands of rats. In the center sitting on a throne made of garbage was a white lab rat that was smaller than all the others.

The rat left the throne and walked toward us, the most surprising thing was that a squeaky voice sounded on our heads as the white lab rat was coming near us.
