250 New Aes Sidhe

I looked at the purple lightning dancing around the sword for a few seconds.

The first thing that I noticed was that I was already familiar with this ability, and second… it was slowly wearing off.

"How long does it last?"

I could see that she was somewhat nervous.

"If you don't do anything, it takes around five minutes, but once you use it to hit something the time shortens."

"Can I touch it?"

"Sure here, careful with the blade."

I took the sword and watched the aura wear off for half a minute before moving it around doing quick slashes and thrusting motions a couple of times.

The speed at which it decreased didn't change despite the movement. If I'm not wrong the total time, it's about five and a half minutes, as she said five minutes isn't an exact number, but I think that she should be able to control it with some training.

I waited for a while, and when the aura had decreased to a third of the initial amount, moved to a side and pointed towards a training dummy, the sword rotated in the air and changed its trajectory slightly to the team and hit the dummy in the center of the chest.

When I threw the sword, I didn't aim to the center, the purple lightning magnetized the sword so it would hit the target.

This wasn't the first time that I see this ability, it reminded me of Gabriel's power. I never paid much attention to his power since he mostly used it to energize the magnets in the MRGR's barrel but seeing her using it, I thought that the effect should be similar.

"Can you control the duration or pass another ability to the weapons besides the purple lightning?"

She was starting to get more anxious than before with the questions and began to think that I thought badly about her power.

"This is not a test Sophie, I just need to know everything you are capable right now so we can find the best way for you to develop your abilities. I don't know how much you know about my powers, but one of them allows me to see your potential. And because of that, you don't need to worry."

My words surprised and calmed her at the same time and after that, she answered my questions.

"I can only use the purple lightning the same as my brother, but it didn't work the same way as his and I couldn't control it when I infused the MRGR. About the duration, I don't know if I can change it, it always lasts about the same time, but my bro never let me practice too much."

I nodded while thinking.

There was something else about her power. That prismatic aura changed and kind of imitated her brother's ability, so probably it takes this form because of him. I don't think that her power is limited to just the one she showed me, I think she can do a lot more than that.

About her not being able to use her power on the bullet think that it's not right either…

"The bullet you infused was an MRGR bullet or a normal one?"

"When we tried it the MRGR's bullets were scarce, so we had to use a normal one…"

It started to make sense. The lightning ignited the black powder, and it exploded, probably they never tried it again since Gabriel was scared of her hurting herself or something like that.

A plan was slowly formulated on my mind as I took into consideration her abilities.

If I'm correct, she will eventually be able to control her infuse abilities, as well as the element she is able to imitate, that can become a huge advantage when used on the right way.

In melee range, she will be able to have an elemental advantage, but without other advantages, she will not be able to handle stronger beasts and might be an easy target.

If she manages to create infused ammunition of some sort, she would be a fantastic long-range fighter, Also since Hope changed her battle style we currently lack a long ranged fighter in our team.

"Let's try something."

I went to another chest and pretended to take something from it.

I bought from the system three bolts and three arrows. And I grabbed one MRGR bullet from the chest. The bolts and arrows were made from different materials.

Metal, wood and animal bones.

"I want you to try infusing these."

"Okay."

She complied as I showed her the different kind of ammunition and extended her hand to take the bullet first.

"Start with the bolts."

The results were as expected, I looked at how the aura passed form Sophie to the different kinds of bolts. The wooden one wasn't able to handle the pressure and broke after a certain amount of the aura was passed to it. The other two could resist the amount of power, but the metallic bolt seemed to be in the limits.

Using this little experiment as a reference, I was already creating a training plan to help her control her ability. From what can I see the MRGR bullet probably wouldn't be able to resist that amount of aura anyway.

About learning to use her aura to infuse other abilities besides the purple lightning, for the moment I'm thinking of pairing her with Hayley, that way she might be able to end producing ice aura to infuse the bolts.

All this will have to wait until her real training starts because now G and the girls have just arrived at the roof.

After introducing G to Sophie, we started with the usual warm up, weapon practice, Krav Maga and the sparring.

During the weapon practice I explained to her how to use different ranged weapons, and during the sparring I made Sophie practice her accuracy with the training dummies.

By the end of the day, she was exhausted. Instead of sending where she would be alone, we invited her to eat with us, and she ended spending the night at Isabella's apartment which had a free room.

Four more days went by.

Hayley came back two days ago and thanks to the system I knew what she was up to.

[Party Member Hayley Killed a D-Rank Beast, 25 EP rewarded]

I knew she was alright thanks to the system, but after I saw the notification I got worried at the thought that she might try to go for the other corrupted beast, but I was proved wrong when she came back with the team a couple of hours later, there were a couple of people hurt but nothing serious.

I finally heard the full story, and I found out that she took a mission to explore and map a specific area of the swamp. She told us that she found an undead semi-human beast when they were exploring, the beast didn't have minions, but proved difficult to fight because of his resistances and regeneration abilities.

After the fight, they came back to regroup and inform us.

They didn't find other clues about the presence of another undead, but they were mapping the swamp so despite being two days they didn't cover much terrain.

There was another outing in a couple of days, and this time I was going to take Sophie with me so she can get some real combat practice.

As for the chihuahua… That bastard is as slippery as always.

The last four days went by between Sophie's training (which consisted of her trying to break 5 metallic bolts in less than five minutes) and trying to find the chihuahua.

Hayley was a little more distant than how it used to be but started to hang out with us in the afternoons, and we are talking again.

I think that this change in her attitude was mainly due to Sophie's appearance.

I didn't need to ask her to spend time with Sophie as I planned. They seemed to spend a lot of time together and hit off from the beginning.

Pushed by Isabella and Hayley Sophie finally decided to move in yesterday, she spent the last few days here anyway.

We helped gather her stuff from her house and moved them to the empty room in Isabella's apartment, so she is now living here now.

It was just a matter of time for her to officially become a part of the Aes Sidhe…
