114 Former Demon Lord

One of the guys dragged Scott's body in a specific direction as the guy was like a robot I couldn't follow him by going inside his head. The rest of the team was taken by the rest of the ambushers in a different direction.

In both, the ambusher group and the scout team were people hurt, and I wasn't sure if they were going to take care of the wounds of either of them soon enough. I hated to admit it, but it was good that that Pinky was here, the minions could take care of the wounded once we leave this place, and if they can't move fast enough they can carry them easier than if it was just Ca-Cai and me.

Since I couldn't follow either of the groups, I searched for more people that could think, and in the meantime explored the mind of the guy that planned the attack. His name was Brody Chambers, and as I supposed he was the one that could spy from far away, it was quite impressive, he could see everything from above and his range covered the entire city, the only drawback was that for him to see someone or something it has to be out in the open, that was lucky… this guy was a pervert.

I went deeper into his memories and understood a little more about how they split the work. Chambers was in charge mainly the kidnaps, Pollard was in charge of assassinations he has an ability to control animals and use them to scout and find the targets if compared with Chambers ability it may look like it wasn't that good, but animals can go everywhere and reach even farther. This was probably the reason that they managed to get information from the inside, it had nothing to do with a traitor, he used small animals to spy at least that was the case of Green Shelter.

Both Chambers and Pollard work under the orders of Kevin Ramsey and John Hamilton, those two were the heads of the whole operation. Even if Chambers was one of the people in charge, he had no idea what the powers of Hamilton and Ramsey were, he had some theories from what he has seen, but the only people that knew all the details were those two, this goes for their powers and for the reason behind the kidnaps.

Besides those 4 there were 3 more people under Ramsey and Hamilton orders, at least he knew about.

Cecily Blake, a young woman that before the meteor shower was Ramsey's secretary, and after the event, she continued to work with him. She somehow is the one that decides the destiny of the people Chambers kidnaps, the method for determining was unknown to Chambers.

After he kidnaped someone he was sent to Ramsey and Cecily, there were 3 possible outcomes for those people. They disappear, Chambers theory is that they are used to fill the blood pool. They become a mindless goon like those that were sent to kidnap or kill, these were common, and there were dozens like them on the area, how I know? Because I can go into their heads… but it's empty. The last option was that they become servants, they follow all the orders but somehow retain a part of their personality which makes them different from the previous category.

The second person that worked with them was Myles Yaxley, head of security… before and after the event, an ex-marine seal who had a dishonorable discharge. His power was also fight related, but Chamber had never seen it himself, he knew that because Pollard told him about it.

The last one was a woman he knew nothing about … he just saw her talking once with Hamilton, when he asked about it, all that Hamilton said was "she's an ally." He had never seen her before or after that.

As I get closer to Ramsey's condo, the number of people that I could dive into got higher, as expected the minds of the servants indeed had something left on them, but most of the memories had been wiped, and their minds had been changed to be easier to manipulate.

At least with something left on their heads I was able to follow the track of everyone and learn a little about them.

Scott's body was thrown into a pile with a mix of beasts, and human bodies next to a pool filled with blood, under the pile was a duct to drive the blood into the pool. Spencer already figured out that the blood had to come from somewhere, so there was no surprise there.

The rest of the team was locked up for now.

Together with Pinky and Cai-Cai, we were already outside the condo, Cai-Cai was licking the air, and Pinky also was sniffing around.

The reason was that we all could feel the smell of blood coming from the inside.

'You brought us to your dominion!! I can't believe that you have been surrounding my country… you!! … you have planned this far and hide it so well!! Snake goddess we have to escape! This is a trap!'

Seriously I should just eat this guy… wait if I do that… does that mean that he was right??

Cai-Cai was looking at me with scared eyes too… how can she be so easy to manipulate? … Seriously I'm starting to think that Lucy is the smarter animal I have met thus far.

Now think Dante… how do I get help from this two?

I started to dive into my memories of stories that Spencer or anyone else had read. It didn't take me to much time to remember one of the light novels that Rose read once. It's not like I stole the plot or something, but I needed to understand what he was talking about…

'This is not my domain pinky~, what you said before is true thou, I used to be the Demon Lord~.'

I changed the tone of my voice for it to sound more dramatic.

Pinky and Cai-Cai looked at me with fear of what I was going to do now that I brought them to "my" dominion.

'But that was until I met the Hero and his party. It was a long fight~ it lasted for weeks, the whole … mmm … Blue continent was destroyed during the battle, but unlike me, the hero had his friends to support him, and in the end that was my doom~. Even after I was defeated the Hero had mercy and believed that I could change my ways, he decided to forgive mi past actions and give me a new opportunity on life, by following him~. I joined him on his Journey, and that's how I met the Snake Goddess otherwise how else would be able to get along with her if I was still completely evil?

Pinky nodded as if what I was telling really made sense… rats are complete idiots, no one else would believe this.

Cai-Cai nodded to and was thinking"yeah as the Snake Goddess I would have noticed something evil lurking around me"…

Is she starting to believe this whole story? I continued anyway

'After my defeat, those who used to be my generals evolved and started to rampage and fight to become the next Demon Lord~, the Hero got hurt during a battle with the Swamp Lord subjects~, he managed to stop them, but now he is recovering from his injuries. A group that was supposed to learn about what was happening here was taken by the… (Crap, Southern Lord is taken…) Mmm ~… Blood Lord?~… yeah, the Blood Lord~… we came here to learn about his evil plans and save the hero's friends!!'

I hope this works… I feel foolish after telling all that nonsense. I made a posture as looking at the horizon where the sun was almost ready to announce the beginning of a new day.

'So …Pinky as the Southern Lord are you ready to help the Hero on his journey and defeat those that want to destroy him~?'

I'm pretty sure that Pinky has stars on his eyes.

Cai-Cai was looking at me with the same eyes… I can't believe that she also thinks this is real… what is wrong with you?

I have to split these two soon.

'I will support the Hero!!!'

Cai-Cai, you are already on our side, but seeing her determined gaze, I didn't want to explain it… at least not now.

Pinky nodded after hearing Cai-Cai words.

'I'm sorry for my earlier words former Demon Lord, we have to help the Hero's friends and defeat the Blood Lord!!'

'Yeah!' I could almost see an imaginary fist on the air coming from Cai-Cai. At least they are motivated.

'Good, the Hero is going to be glad to be an ally of Pinky, the Southern' Lord~.'

That has to be the most stupid phrase I have ever said. I will never tell anyone about what happened here or the teasing would never end.

'You have all the southern kingdom, ready to help if you need it.'

I nodded with satisfaction.

'Good, because we will need to invade the Blood Lord Domain and create as much chaos as possible if we want to help the Hero's friends.'
