154 Assassination plan

After discussing the best way weaken the NDR we decided that taking Chambers out of the picture was a must, his scouting abilities were the most annoying and dangerous for us. Depending on the situation we were going to also eliminate Pollard, who would most likely take over Chambers duty of scouting and intel gathering but his ability wasn't as good as chambers. The mission was planned to start tomorrow, and after discussing for a while, we selected the people that were coming with me.

Because of the time, I couldn't bring G, the plan was going to take place at night so he would become a burden to the mission. Instead, I was going to take with me a shield-bearer that wasn't a goon from yesterday. Milo was also coming. Usually, Johanna and Zak would have been good candidates, but both of them were going to stay in the clinic for a couple of days more.

We lacked a mid-range controller and bringing the two subleaders was not going to happen so after some discussion, we decided to add Hayley to the group.

We didn't want to add any NDR's goon to the mission it was dangerous to have someone that might get out of our control. The last member was Rose, we needed someone capable of scouting without being noticed, and in this area, there weren't many good prospects.

Finally, I had to talk to Dante for him to contact the last piece of the plan, we needed Pinky's help to move through the sewers. Chamber couldn't see what happens in there, and the sewers are under Pinky's control, so there is no way for Pollard to send scouts there.

After discussing more details, I met Mark, who had a strength enhancement, his strength was a tier lower than Zak's, but he also had a low tier enhanced reflexes to compensate, he was specialized in defensive techniques, his primary objective was to protect Milo and Hayley in the case that they were attacked.

The next day we were going to leave after lunch, it wasn't necessary to leave early because we needed to strike in the night.

After that, I went to the armory to get a standard spear and throwing knives for practice. They also told me that they were considering to start charging me from now on for the uniforms…

I was surprised that when I arrived home, no one was there.

After looking around I found Rose laying on our bed doing something in the Astral Realm, she is probably training Paws or something. I could feel that she was outside of Green Shelter, so I left her alone after kissing her forehead.

Since the place was empty, I went to check if Isabella and Dana were back.

In the end, the only people I found on the entire floor was Emma together with Alfred and Watson. They were in their apartment doing nothing.

I had my doubts about talking with Emma, but unlike what I thought before, Emma could talk without problems. It was like talking to an artificial intelligence. I remember Dante telling that unlike the goons that were just mindless followers, Emma could think on her own, but she was going to prioritize the orders she receives over anything else.

I went to get the cards to play with her, I wanted her to use her brain as much as possible. I explained her a simple card game and talked with her as we played. I was able to hear from time to time her thoughts.

All I got was the F-Rank version of mind reading even if this came with some unexpected advantages, the power was at the lowest rank, so I could only get some of the thoughts on the most external layer of her mind. I couldn't know if there was a more profound feeling in her heart, or if there was a way to repair her mind, but thanks to the short conversation with her, I managed to change a little my view of this people… I could feel her thinking about the plays that she had to do next and she tried her best to answer when I asked about her.

I tried to see how much she remembered from her life before this, I asked about her family and the gym where G saw her a couple of years ago. She managed to describe me a little of her family and the house where she grew up, but there were a lot of things about herself that she didn't know. Maybe if I pushed her a little harder, she might be able to remember, but I didn't want to risk doing something that might damage her mind even more.

Afterward, I tried to do the same with Alfred and Watson, but they didn't answer questions, and there was no reaction on their minds either, so I didn't even try to teach them how to play cards.

I taught solitaire to Emma and told her to play when she feels bored. I hope that she manages to identify feelings and expected to see her playing with the cards because of it.

I left her with the cards and went to the roof where I practiced throwing knives and the chakrams. From what I noticed I usually have to at least use my combat skills in real battle to get the related ability, but it's possible that since I have the short blades, chakrams, and the throwing axe skill, the last one might evolve without the need of a battle situation.

Since just throwing knives was not enough I also tried to use Infuse Weapon on them, instead of using slow or time bubble I infused the weapons to move slower than usual.

The only reason that this might help was to mess up with the opponent's rhythm, if you are under attack you usually calculate the time between the strikes, but if every weapon had different speed, and they don't arrive in the order that is supposed to it was confusing and you have to split your attention in more than one attack instead of the one that is nearer to you.

Also, if I manage to infuse it with this ability which has a visible effect, I should be able to add the others abilities like delay, slow stacks, and slow regen to the weapons too.

I worked on it for most of the afternoon, as expected I didn't get the throw ability, but I managed to infuse throwing weapons without problems and level up poison resistance due to the use of the chakrams. Apparently, Lv. 2 was enough to resist this poison since I didn't need to use detox again after that.

I remembered that I haven't eaten anything today, so I went to the apartment to eat something before the others arrive for the training. Dana was there with Dante and Cai-Cai, of course under the gaze of Isabella who was reading an anatomy book.

I greeted them and went to the get something to eat. While I was eating a bowl of cereal, Isabella told me about her day, there was a moment when she got a headache, and I said that she shouldn't overdo with the special view because those are more taxing for her brain, and she wasn't used to it yet. She promised to not force herself and thanked me again.

After that, we shared some experience about the special view modes, to make it easier for each other to understand the power better. At that moment I discovered that the number of vital points that Isabella could see was higher than mine, probably because of her knowledge, Thanks to aura view I still receive more information than her, but hers is more precise. Perhaps if I level up my anatomy knowledge, I will be able to see more than what I see now.

At that time Hope arrived and sat with us to talk. I told her that Isabella knew everything now and that she had a power. The situation repeated itself as Hayley, and G came back too.

They were all happy for Isabella being part of us, and Hayley even told me that I should have told her sooner.

I took the chance to also explain to her that we were going out on a mission tomorrow so she should get ready.

As soon as Rose appeared we left the place and went to the roof for the regular training.
