CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

It was another sunny day. Desi went out again for her morning jogs like always. She was particularly tired that day. She normally completed three lapse. But that day, to complete a round was very difficult for her.

She found a side bench and sat. Dog Daphne followed too.

"Daphne do you think something bad is going to happen today? I can't shake off the feeling that it would!"

She hadn't finished talking when dog Daphne started barking happily.

She looked up and saw Michael walking towards her. And today, he was alone.

This must be the bad feeling she's been having!

Michael moved to the space beside her and sat.

"Good morning, Young Master Kingston." she greeted politely. She wasn't in the mood for their bickering.

"Good Morning Miss Le grande, I've taken a fancy in your dog, do you mind sharing its name with me?"

Seriously, he had taken a fancy in her dog! Wasn't he implying that her dog was better than her? Why was this guy so sarcastic with his words? She fumed within herself. Imaginary anger smokes could be seen coming out of her ears.

"Her name is Daphne." She said with a fake smile.

"Oh Daphne, nice."

He stared at Desi with a hint of warmth in his eyes.

Desi felt uncomfortable with the stare. Just when she was about to say something. She heard his deep magnetic voice.

"I have a proposition for you"

In Desi's house

The laughter from Beth and Nessa could be heard.

Elizabeth Tanner Kingston couldn't believe that she had bought a lot of fruits and vegetables to visit the Le grande's. Oh yes! She had wanted to woo that girl for her son. Who would have thought that Desiree's mother was her prank mate in basic school. Vanessa Stewarts, now Mrs Le grande.

She remembered when they had first met. Nessa had gotten so angry that the teacher was being partial with awarding marks to paintings. And she was quite sure that hers was the best. But the teacher awarded the best mark to her own daughter Micah. Jessa felt very bad.

Then, it happened that one day they went for an excortion to the woods.

Nessa was paired with Micah, they were both to stay in the same tent.

In the middle of the night, she saw Nessa throwing Micah's favorite dull away.

While she, Beth was hiding at a corner watching her.

After Nessa left, she went and picked up the toy and tore it to shreds. She was still on the process of doing so, when she heard a voice.

"What are you doing?" she heard.

She froze. She thought it was Micah. When she turned around she saw Nessa, leaning on a tree. She didn't know how to explain to her.

"You hate her too? Finally! Someone with the mindset!"

"When did you start hating her? Tell me, I want to hear all about it." Nessa said and clung her arm to hers. From there they chatted throughout the night and even slept in the same tent.

After basic school they both lost contact because Nessa remained in country B while she traveled abroad.

Who would have believed that her dear son would be interested in Nessa's daughter.

"Since Desi isn't home we'll have to keep this visit a secret" Madam Kingston said.

"Of course" Mrs Le grande.
