Having just returned from the Necromancer's dimension, Han Shuo spent the next few days resting. When he was fully rested, he went to the dark forest and captured some magical beasts, and continued to practice the Soul Tremor magic.
After a few days of practice, Han Shuo was finally able to manipulate his mental power at will. When a Soul Tremor spell was cast, a wild beast would simply fall down, blood gushing from its nose and mouth.
When Han Shuo was able to control Soul Tremor as he wished, he began to study the spells that higher-ranked necromancers should know.
The most important of these were the summoning spells for Bone Demons, Old Fey Zombies and Mummy Lords. As necromancers progressed, not only would the level of their summoned creatures increase, but they would also be able to summon other types of creatures. Necromancy Grand Magus like Han Shuo should be able to summon bone demons, old fey zombies and mummy lords.
In reality, apart from a few differences in the incantations, there wasn't much difference in summoning the three. Even though their soul marks were different, the power required to summon one of them was roughly the same. As long as Han Shuo mastered the summoning of the bone demons, he would be able to summon the other two undead creatures by simply changing the incantation slightly.
However, just like the Soul Tremor spell, the more advanced a necromancer became, the harder it would be to master the more advanced spells. Han Shuo's understanding of the necromancy magic of the late Archmage was now useless.
Starting from this realm, Han Shuo would have to carefully study necromancy magic on his own. Fortunately, the Cemetery of Death had many books for Han Shuo to peruse. The number of references to the essence of necromancy were too many to count.
With the three evil knights and twelve mystical demons still being refined, Han Shuo used this time to study more advanced necromancy magic.
The days flew by. One day, while chanting his incantations, Han Shuo suddenly felt a familiar presence outside the Cemetery.
Suddenly awakening from his deep contemplation, Han Shuo held the skeleton staff as he walked out of the Cemetery and ran into the dark dragon Gilbert wandering outside, "What are you doing here?"
"Esteemed Master, I felt your presence and it just so happened that I was in the Valley of Sunshine. So I came to find you." The dark dragon Gilbert cheered up when he saw Han Shuo appear.
Gilbert didn't seem to have changed much. However, Han Shuo could sense from Gilbert's body that his aura seemed to have strengthened a bit. After Gilbert entered the Cemetery of Death, he immediately started talking, telling Han Shuo about what had happened in the Valley of Sunshine.
From Gilbert's stories, Han Shuo gradually came to understand the situation in the Valley of Sunshine . Ever since Han Shuo had schemed against the various powers that had converged on the Hidden Valley with the Mithril Mine, the four great powers had formed a temporary truce. Instead, they had focused all their attention on crusading against the culprit behind the scenes.
Laureton had previously said that the first faction to find the culprit behind the scenes would rule the Valley of Sunshine. So all the powers, great and small, tried to find the culprit behind the scenes. But even after so many months, there were still no results.
Trunks understood that the real culprit, Han Shuo, had long since left the valley. He pretended to be concerned, but he also quietly expanded the Soul Destroyer mercenary group. Unwittingly, the silent and unknown Soul Destroyers had gradually become the fifth major power in the Valley of Sunshine, thanks to their abundant funds and the prestige of the Tribes.
After consuming one of Han Shuo's rebirth pills, Trunks' strength had risen from Swordmaster to Great Swordmaster. Of all the different factions in the Valley of Sunshine, only Laureton, who could go berserk three times, could beat him. Florida and Adam Melo were both inferior to Trunks.
It was during this time that the Soul Destroyers rose to prominence. As they shot through the ranks of their peers, they absorbed even more outstanding experts. Trunks previous ruthlessness now had an added edge of insidiousness. He wasn't in a hurry to deal with Florida right away, he wanted to torment him slowly.
Gilbert took on a number of missions with Trunks, completing each operation perfectly. In the process, Gilbert frequently visited many brothels, using the skills Han Shuo had taught him to secretly absorb some yin energy. As a result, his strength also improved rapidly.
After listening to Gilbert's account of the situation in Sunshine Valley, Han Shuo was actually a little worried. Currently, Trunk's Soul Destroyers were the fifth greatest power in the Valley of Sunshine. This also meant that the Soul Destroyers had the right to participate in the battle for control of the Valley of Sunshine. Before, when the Soul Destroyers didn't have that level of power, only Florida would spare no effort to suppress them. Now that the Soul Destroyers really had that kind of power, the other three sides would naturally pay more attention to Trunks.
Unfortunately, even Laureton of the Berserker Warriors would not be as friendly to Trunks as he had been before. After all, Trunks had the power to threaten his band of mercenaries in Cairo. There were no friends that lasted forever in this world. Once there was a clear conflict of interest, it was very likely that some dirty things would happen.
Han Shuo thought for a while, understanding in his heart that Trunks and the others might find it more difficult to develop in the future. However, Han Shuo believed in Trunks ability and didn't care too much. After thinking for a while, he smiled slightly and said to Dark Dragon Gilbert, "I have something for you.
"What is it?" After Gilbert explained the details of the situation in the Valley of Sunshine to Han Shuo, he was surprised by Han Shuo's reaction.
Han Shuo removed the green dragon's magical core from his space ring, shiny green energy swirling inside. The massive amount of energy contained within immediately caused Gilbert to go crazy with joy as he exclaimed loudly in delight, "A supreme magical core?"
"That's right. This is a green dragon's magical core, I believe this magical core should be useful to you?" Han Shuo grinned at Gilbert and asked.
Unable to stop nodding his head like a chicken pecking rice, Gilbert was tremendously excited, his right hand already holding the Green Dragon's Magical Core in his palm, laughing wildly, "Useful! Too useful! I can feel the tremendous energy it contains. With this Green Dragon's Core, which is of a higher level than mine, I'll definitely be able to evolve to the second level!"
"That's good, swallow it right now and just evolve in the Cemetery of Death." The magical core of this green dragon had obviously been prepared by Han Shuo especially for Gilbert. Seeing Gilbert looking surprised and excited to the point of madness, he smiled.
Aside from his lechery, Gilbert could also be considered a loyal follower. Earlier, in the forbidden land deep in the Dark Forest, he had shown a loyalty that had touched Han Shuo's heart. If not, the then berserk Han Shuo might have been lost forever.
"Thank you, Master. Master, you are too great! Your loyal servant praises you from the bottom of his heart..." Gilbert sang incessantly as he clutched the green dragon's magical core. Gilbert had interacted with humans for a long time during this period. His bootlicking skills had improved greatly and he hardly ever repeated a single sentence.
"Alright, alright. Just swallow the magical core of the green dragon for me. Less of this nonsense." Han Shuo interrupted Gilbert's cajoling, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
Gilbert stopped his nonsense this time, nodded his head animatedly and said to Han Shuo, "Master, I need to transform into my original form, which might be inconvenient in the Cemetery of Death. I'll just go outside."
"Go, but you must be careful. Don't mess up the formation I set up." Han Shuo desperately reminded him as Gilbert excitedly ran towards the entrance of the cemetery with the green dragon's magical core in his hand.
"Calm down, Master. I know what to do!" Gilbert replied, avoiding the two large formations Han Shuo had set up. He did not swallow the green dragon's magical core until he had reached another area.
It looked like Gilbert would be able to become a level two super Magical beast in the near future, Han Shuo thought. He decided to continue studying necromancy and practising incantations in the Cemetery of death.
A few days passed when Han Shuo suddenly thought of the dwarves in the valley. Remembering the dwarves' skill in weapon forging and his promise to the ancient lizard king Dagassi, he left the Cemetery and travelled to the valley where the dwarves lived.
Winter had passed, and the Dwarven Valley was filled with the fresh scent of flora. The dwarves guarding the valley all recognised Han Shuo. Han Shuo easily entered the dwarf village and saw some dwarves brewing fruit wine. When the wine brewing dwarves saw Han Shuo, they all cheered endlessly, adults and children alike.
Encouraged by a woman, a dwarf child less than a metre tall walked up to Han Shuo with a glass of fruity-smelling wine. "Uncle Han, this is for you, it's very tasty." The dwarf child stood on tiptoe and handed the glass of wine to Han Shuo.
Kneeling down, Han Shuo rubbed the little dwarf child's head and accepted the glass with a smile. "Thank you!"
The smiling face of the dwarf child blushed as he shyly ran to his mother's side and said, "Uncle Han thanked me.
All the honest dwarves, young and old, roared with laughter. The village was filled with merriment. It seemed that the dwarves had been living quite well during this time.
When Bennett heard the news and saw that Han Shuo had arrived, he shouted from afar, "Yo, Han! It's been a long time since you came!" He had just been forging weapons and was naked from the waist up. His face was covered in soot and he held a large hammer in his left hand.
"Hehehe. I've been a bit busy lately. Have you all been well lately?" Han Shuo asked smiling.
"Of course, spring has arrived. We haven't even finished the food you gave us for the winter. There's still plenty of bacon left. We've mined some ore, and I've just been teaching the youngsters how to make dwarven weapons. Life is much better than it used to be. Bennett chuckled as he replied, looking visibly refreshed.
"Where is the village chief? I've come to discuss a great deal with you all."
"Han, the gates of the Dwarf Village are always open to you. Forging weapons for you is an honour for the dwarves and doesn't count as business." Chief Calvin, leaning on a stick and stroking his braided beard with a beaming smile, emerged from a distant stone house.
Calvin looked visibly older, and his body was growing weaker. When one reached a certain age, difficulty in walking was inevitable. Calvin's beard was now completely silver and he had to use a cane. It looked like he couldn't resist the effects of ageing either.
Calvin, however, was in high spirits, and his chuckling gaze made him seem full of benevolence. When two young dwarves saw Calvin appear, they took the initiative to go up and support the chief. Bennett asked, "Elder, why have you come out?"
"Han is here, of course I have to come and see him. Bennett, I'm not as old as you think, can't you see I came over on my own? Hehehe !" Calvin laughed and bowed to Han Shuo. "The dwarves in this village will be forever grateful for your favour. There's no business between friends. We will forge all the weapons you need, that is our attitude towards friends."
When he had come over this time, Han Shuo had wanted the dwarves to help him forge some weapons for the lizardmen in the underground world. Han Shuo promised the ancient lizard king Dagassi that he would help look after the lizardmen. Although the lizardmen had received some weapons from the corpses of the Redbud Knights, these weapons were far from enough for their use.
Besides, the lizardmen were built differently from normal humans. Han Shuo wanted to ask the dwarves to forge some weapons tailored for their use. Of course, the city guards of Brettel City also needed the weapons forged by the dwarves. After all, the weapons forged by the dwarves were much better than normal weapons.
Calvin listened carefully to Han Shuo's explanations. When Han Shuo finished, Calvin smiled as he said, "Don't worry. The children happen to be very free these days. We still have enough food at the moment and don't need to hunt. I will make arrangements for them to forge the weapons you need."
"Thank you, Elder!" Han Shuo expressed his gratitude sincerely.
"Haha, there's no need for such polite words between friends. It's rare that you have come, try our freshly brewed fruit wine." Calvin said proudly, pulling Han Shuo towards the women brewing the wine.
