CHAPTER 318: Saving The Beauty

Cough...

A shrill, pitiful scream rang out from the tent. This extremely tragic scream, which couldn't be completely suppressed by the tent's boundary, came to an abrupt end. Han Shuo caught a faint echo with his great senses.

The only remaining Yin Demon was slowly drifting in that direction in a probe. However, Han Shuo had already felt the magic fluctuation ripple out in all directions before the Yin Demon even came close. With his extraordinary knowledge, he knew immediately that this was a soul inspection magic. Han Shuo quickly withdrew the Yin Demon.

After the soul inspection magic was released, a dazzling crack suddenly appeared in the sky. It patrolled the area like a bright eye.

Han Shuo immediately held his breath and entered the realm where nothing affected him, his body hidden in the lush foliage of a large tree.

The fluctuation of the Soul Inspection Magic drifted out gently like ripples of water. As it passed through Han Shuo, he felt a slight surprise. However, he easily avoided the inspection with a tight lock on his consciousness.

"There's someone there!" A soft cry suddenly rang out from the tent.

A figure shot out of the tent like a bolt of lightning. A team of knights followed closely behind the silhouette, chasing swiftly to the east.

A rustling sound quickly came from that area, and Han Shuo could clearly hear a person running away from where the knights were stationed. It seemed that there were others who were also paying attention to this force of the Brut Merchant Alliance. However, they couldn't have been hiding very well since their tracks were discovered.

Han Shuo stayed where he was without moving. His eyes swept through the tents in the distance again, stopping at the few in the centre of the group. The retreating Yin Demon was released again. It flew in the direction the sound had come from.

Why had the knights of the Brut Merchant Alliance come to the Dark Forest? Han Shuo was filled with doubt, his bright eyes gazing at the tent in the centre as he silently pondered.

Rumble...

A huge explosion echoed from the direction that figure had rushed towards. After that, a strange cooing laughter sounded sinister: "Hehehe, I wasn't expecting two beautiful women. Don't think of escaping."

"Cecilia, you go first. I'll stop him!" A familiar female voice sounded from the distance.

Han Shuo had been calmly watching the tent and suddenly turned pale when he heard this voice. His heart had been as still as clear water, but it was instantly disturbed. It shot out like a sharp arrow, flying across the sky and drawing a silvery arc through the air.

It was Emily's voice. If it had been someone Han Shuo didn't know, he wouldn't have stuck his nose in their business. However, since it was Emily, he definitely wouldn't let anything happen to her.

"You want to run away? Hahaha, you can't escape!" The wicked cooing of an owl rang out again, accompanied by the sounds of spells and weapons colliding.

Han Shuo's heart burned with fear as he utilised the Demonic Ninth Heaven Art to the utmost. He reached this area in the span of three breaths, much faster than the Yin Demon.

Broken, uprooted trees filled the area. Emily and Cecilia wore pure green magic robes, their delicate faces painted with green plant sap. Their entire bodies seemed to merge with the Dark Forest as they leaned against a large tree trunk, casting spells incessantly.

Several members of the Dark Mantle, their strength, agility and endurance enhanced by Cecilia's magic, threw themselves fiercely in front of the Brut Knights' attacks.

There was a thin, middle-aged man with short, red hair and a cruel smile on his face. He stood behind the knights with his hands behind his back, watching Emily and Cecilia fight while cackling nonstop.

"Who is it?!" The thin, middle-aged man suddenly spotted Han Shuo rushing over. Surprise flashed through his eyes as he raised his left hand to form a complicated magic formation. A tremendous power then surged out of his palm and quickly attacked Han Shuo.

Bang!

It was like being hit by an iron mountain. Han Shuo immediately felt dizzy. He glared furiously at the middle-aged man, unable to move forward.

"Eh!" The middle-aged man shouted, his eyes shifting from Emily and Cecilia to Han Shuo. The lines in the centre of his palm twisted up like a snake, faintly revealing a trace of blood.

Whistle...

Han Shuo finally mobilised the Demonslayer's Edge, its murderous intent billowing into the sky and filling the area. The middle-aged man suddenly roared into the sky. His originally one metre seventy-five centimetres tall body began to grow with unimaginable changes.

The man's smooth, shiny skin was instantly covered in a thick, hairy coat. His slender, long arms became very strong and sturdy. His body stretched to ten metres before transforming into a huge black bear. The bear growled and slammed its paw down, smashing Han Shuo to the ground.

Han Shuo had intended to fly up but suddenly staggered. He'd discovered that the gravity around him had increased tenfold. In his surprise, Han Shuo couldn't react in time, and the feeling was extremely unsettling.

"Bryan!" Emily was about to cast a dark spell when she finally spotted Han Shuo's appearance. She didn't have time to be happy when the black bear's palm slammed down like a small mountain. Emily screamed in panic.

Since his movement had been affected, Han Shuo's mind raced in the face of this crisis. As he saw the giant paw slam down, he immediately injected magical yuan into the Demonslayer's Edge. Bloody-red light exploded and shot into the sky from the weapon that had absorbed an enormous amount of killing intent from resentful souls. Bloody clouds continuously drifted out, turning into thin, bloody-red threads that wrapped around the Demonslayer Edge.

From the tip of the Demonslayer's Edge, a glaring red light abruptly erupted. The endless, vicious, resentful intent shot straight at the bear's paw.

The bear's grey pupils wavered slightly, the thick fur on its arm standing up like needles. That paw sent out waves of light that rippled like the surface of water disturbed by a thrown stone.

Rumble rumble...

Loud rumbling sounds echoed from the collision of the Demonslayer's Edge and the Black Bear's palm. Bloody-red light radiated in all directions, accompanied by the Black Bear's agonised scream.

A force that could topple the mountains and overturn the seas surged violently into Han Shuo's arm. The power was pure brute force, without any skill, and even Han Shuo's rock solid body could not withstand it. The vessels in his right hand that held the Demonslayer Edge burst open.

"What the hell! What kind of person is this!" Han Shuo could only curse. After his strength had increased so much after entering the Separate Demon Realm, he had thought that there wouldn't be many people who could surpass him in strength. He had been unexpectedly injured by Kosse last time, and now he was even wounded by a single blow.

"Who are you?" The big black bear shrank back to a thin middle-aged man after the blow. However, his palm was now dripping with blood. He looked at Han Shuo, a look of terrified disbelief on his face.

Ignoring his opponent, as soon as the terrifying gravity was lifted, Han Shuo rushed over to Emily and shouted, "Hurry and get out of here! More experts are coming."

Cecilia, one of the three Dark Mantle heavyweights, had watched the fight from beginning to end. A strange look filled her eyes as she looked at Han Shuo. Upon hearing his cry, she suddenly turned to the front and quietly shouted, "Retreat!

As her words fell, Cecilia pulled out a magic scroll. Her long, slender arm held the scroll and shook it violently, a space door appeared in front of her amidst a blinding white light. The members of the Dark Mantle who were fighting the knights seemed to know in advance that Cecilia would do this, as they immediately disengaged from their opponents and entered the space door.

Without waiting for Han Shuo to react, Emily grabbed his hand and pulled him through the door without any hesitation. Cecilia then jumped in as well.

It was as if they had used a transportation matrix. A white light flashed as they all appeared in the middle of a river. Heads poked out of the water, the whole group resembling drowned rats, gulping fresh air in large mouthfuls.

Bryan, shouldn't you be in Brettel City? How come are you here?" Emily had let go of Han Shuo's hand and asked after sticking her head out of the surface of the river.

"Uh, it's very easy for me to get here. You know." Han Shuo winked at Emily several times, his voice calm.

Emily was stunned for a moment before she remembered the Cemetery of Death in the Dark Forest. With the transportation matrix there, Han Shuo could easily run back and forth no matter where he was.

"Damn it! Why did we end up here? Hurry up, they are chasing us!" Cecilia's voice sounded in the distance. Her body was dripping wet as she suddenly shouted.

Emily sent a signal to Han Shuo with a glance at Cecilia's scream. The two of them immediately followed the Dark Mantle members out of the river and along a path that led into the Dark Forest.
