20 Sorcerer’s Stone

Haru carefully looked at every detail present on his Status Window, trying to understand his newfound strength.

 However, as he examined it, his brows furrowed when he noticed something peculiar, and he asked, "There seems to be a problem here. There is a skill, but all I see are question marks."

["Hm? Oh, that."] Understanding what Haru was referring to, his system replied, ["You don't have to worry. In time, it will reveal itself. Hehe~"]

Haru couldn't shake the feeling that the system knew more but wasn't divulging it for some reason.

["Forget about that!"] His system quickly changed the subject, asking, ["How powerful do you feel now? It's amazing, isn't it!"]

"I do feel strong..." Haru said, glancing at his impressive Status and sensing a profound strength coursing through his body. He couldn't resist clenching his fist in wonder as to how strong did he become.

His gaze then shifted to the nearest wall, then back to the fist he had just clenched. Somehow, he had a hunch that if he punched the wall, he wouldn't be hurt, and instead, he would leave a mark on it.

["Why don't you go and test it against the wall if you want to see if you've truly gotten stronger,"] his System suggested.

Listening to his System's words—or rather, following his instincts—Haru moved toward the wall and delivered a powerful punch with his right hand.

Bang!

"What the..." Haru murmured in disbelief, not because of the absence of pain when he punched the wall, but because of the cracks now showcasing on its surface. There, a distinct fist mark had formed where his punch had landed.

["See! Don't you feel powerful now!? All because of the Class and the right Skill that I rewarded you. Right now, your strength is now around level 20 Awakened, despite being a level 5!"] His system chimed in with her usual proud words.

'Level 20?' Haru had sensed an increase in his strength, but he hadn't realized just how much. He turned his attention to the Skill, which surprisingly seemed to be the primary source of his newfound power.

["See! See! How strong it is! One more thing is that, unlike the spells, the abilities grow and give more power when you would rank up more."] She cheered enthusiastically.

"I have a question." Ignoring the weird description of the skill, as he looked at his status, he found something and asked, "These stats points... are they used to increase the stats?"

["Bingo! Wait, I thought you never played any games! Anyway, you can distribute them however you want. After each level up, you receive a set number of stat points. Since time is of the essence, I'll explain the rest later."]

"Any advice on where to allocate them?"

["Oho! Good thing you asked, besides I was going to tell you either way-!"]

"Can you just hurry up?"

["Ahem! Anyways! Since you already have good amount of strength, and given your Quest will require you to face multiple enemies at any moment, it would be wise to prioritize good stamina to last long, sufficient speed to evade their attacks, and ample defense for worst-case scenarios."]

"So it's stamina, speed, and defense, huh?" Haru mused, listening to her explanation. He agreed with her advice and decided to distribute the remaining 60 stat points equally among the three categories.

[AGI – 34 -> 54 -> 135]

[STA – 31 -> 51 -> 128]

[DEF – 27 -> 47 -> 118]

With the upgraded stats, Haru's confidence surged even further, and he felt prepared to confront his enemies.

'Don't worry, Aki, I will be able to protect you now!'

["Woah! Woah! Hold your horses, stupid. There is still one more thing left!"]

Hearing her words, Haru asked doubtfully, "What do you mean?"

["You really are a stupid! Didn't you get something really good from the Yellow Card earlier? Use it!!"]

"The only thing I got from it was a useless marble... How do you even know that?" Haru asked suspiciously.

["Duh! You are my stupid Host. I know everything! Also, does it even matter whether or not I can hear your thoughts or know everything about you?"]

'She can read my thoughts...'

Despite having some suspicions about his System from the start, considering her distinctiveness from the Systems his classmates had, Haru didn't let it bother him. For him, protecting and saving Aki was his foremost concern, other things can come later.

Pushing aside his unproductive thoughts, he inquired, "Anyway, what's so special about this marble? The system didn't provide any information about it earlier."

["Of course it wouldn't! It was Initializing that time! Listen, you are very lucky to obtain a Sorcerer's Stone! Not anyone can get it on their first try with a Yellow Card! Anyways, as the name suggests, it is a stone that can provide you with the knowledge of utilizing a Spell! Amazing, isn't it!?"]

"Seriously? How do I use it?" He asked as he brought a small yellow colored Marble from his pocket.

Although he had the doubts about being able to use magic when he saw the spell section, but to his disappointment, it was empty. But now with the opportunity to learn a magical spell made his heart excited and hopeful a little.

["Just eat it."]

"Are you serious?" Haru asked, unable to shake off his doubt, having heard stories about people choking after accidentally swallowing marbles.

["Do you think you have time to worry about that? The monster can come at any moment! JUST EAT IT!"] She scolded him.

'Damn it!' Although Haru still had his doubts, he still heeds her words because he too could hear the increasing growls outside and immediately threw marble into his mouth.

However, the moment the marble touched his tongue, contrary to his expectations, it immediately melted away.

[You have consumed a Sorcerer's Stone!]

[Checking the required INT....]

[Requirements are met!]

[Imprinting the knowledge of the stone!]

In that instant, unfamiliar knowledge and information flooded his mind, detailing the intricacies of the spell and the utilization of Prana, imprinting itself into his consciousness.

"So, the energy I sense within me and in the surroundings is all Prana? The very same force that triggered this apocalypse?" Haru asked, finally comprehending the nature of the small, dust-like particles of light he sensed floating in the air since his system initialized.

["Yup! Prana is source of all energy. Now, let's see what kind of spell you will get."]

Immediately afterward, a new window popped up in front of him.

For a few moments, silence enveloped the classroom as Haru focused on the name of the spell and its details. He had anticipated acquiring a spell like a fireball or something of the sort, but not a spell that involved summoning chains.

"What am I going to do with these chains?"

["Well, since you can manipulate them at your will.... hmmm.... how about bondage play with your Zombie Waifu afterwards? Kya! How kinky!"]

"..."

["Oh gosh! Why is it so hot in here!? Trust me! I am definitely not thinking about you both like that... shit... why is my nose bleeding all of a sudden?"]
