Evolution

Whilst Harkon and his friends had stumbled through the portal into Ring City the necromancers began to panic.

"Shit shit shit Ring City will be upon us."

"I'm too young to die someone save me."

"This just had to happen right before we were going to summon Lord Varimathras."

"Silence all this setback is inconsequential.We now have all the sacrifices we need to summon Lord Varimathras.It doesn't matter what Ring City does to us now.All of you kill the leftover merchants and carry their corpses in your space rings.We're heading home and this time we will summon Lord Varimathras."Secthir spoke authoritively as he tried to calm all the initiates down.

With those orders at hand the initiates proceeded to head towards the trading caravan where the remaining merchants were.The remaining merchants had been attempting to hide and hoped that the necromancers would leave them be but the necromancers didn't.The merchants could only curse the adventurers in their hearts for carelessly leaving them behind.

Orion hurried over before the necromancers could and bludgeoned the merchants to death with his staff in order to gain some more stats.Blood and brain matter splattered everywhere as the merchants couldn't believe their lives were brought to an end by a mere skeleton.

All sorts of notifications appeared in Orions vision as he felt his body becoming rapidly stronger.He simply stood there as necromancers collected the corpses of the fallen merchants and guards and put them in their space rings.

The skeleton and necromancers then went home.All the while Orion was trying to figure out a plan to avoid impending destruction.

"I can't depend on this Lord Varimathras that these necromancers are summoning.The sheer amount of sacrifices required no doubt meant that it would be a complex ritual that would probably take a large amount of time.

That was Orions opinion however and he didn't have enough knowledge of magic to reach a conclusion on how much time and effort it would take to summon Varimathras.He didn't want to depend on a demon with only a small chance of working.

There was also the matter of when an attack would take place as Ring City would no doubt send forces to attack the necromancers.The forces they would send would have a high likelihood of being stronger then that fire mage Orion had fought.Orion was simply to weak to fight them as he was right now so he would need to evolve.

Orion was then hit with the idea to evolve in front of a large group of necromancers.This way they would want to study him and would no doubt want to keep him safe.Which would mean they would send him to another destination which would no doubt be safe.

Orion walked over to the banquet hall where a lot of necromancers were sitting and eating and undead were standing on the side.Orion went to the centre table in the middle of the banquet hall.

Orion jumped onto the table where a bunch of necromancers were eating and picked up two plates which he smashed together.This immediately got everyone's attention including one of the leading necromancers who was eating at one of the wooden thrones at the end of the table.The reason why there was only one leading necromancer and a bunch of initiates was that everyone else had gone down to the basement in order to summon Varimathras or guard the ritual.

The leading necromancer angrily reacted to the audacious skeleton who had interrupted everyone's meal.

"Someone get that damn skeleton down immediately."ordered the leading necromancer as he resumed chewing his chicken leg.

The necromancers immediately tried ordering Orion to get off the table or move him by force.Orion immediately knew that now was the time to evolve.

"commence evolution"

Orions body immediately illuminated a red light and what happened next made the necromancers jaws drop.

Orions body began to grow and develop tendons.His bones immediately developed skeletal muscle.An organ system began to develop within Orions body.Veins and arteries developed around Orions body but didn't pump any blood like an artwork that was just for decoration.To finish the transformation off Orions body grew skin.Standing there was a naked person at least it looked like a person but it was probably a zombie since it was an undead.

Orion was happy seeing the necromancers stunned expressions as they looked upon his naked body.The leading necromancer had dropped his chicken leg as though he had seen the most beautiful thing in the world.He then acted.

"Somebody apprehend that skeleton/zombie thing and lock it in the dungeon for later research."
