Arrival of greater forces

Varick was the first to enter the building with Orion following close behind to make sure that nothing unfortunate happened to him.The rest of the group followed close behind which included Torrent.

Orion wasn't worried as he could hear the sounds of whispering coming from upstairs with his advanced hearing.There was only two voices which most likely belonged to goblins.

Varick and the group was prepared to scour the first floor but stopped when Orion gestured for them to go upstairs.They abruptly understood what was happening as they ascended the stairs.

As they ascended the stairs Orion could now properly hear and make out the two voices speaking.

"I'm telling you to hurry up and send reinforcements.They already killed a high number of us and its gotten quiet outside.I fear that Gasgal has already been killed."Grinsy spoke as he continuously looked over his shoulder for the group that killed his friends.

"Just relax I've already sent some red caps,shamans,bruisers and red cap bruisers.They'll arrive at your position shortly.Wait...who is that behind you?."the second voice spoke as Grinsys eyes widened in realisation and abruptly looked behind himself in time to see Orion throwing an enchanted net over him.

Orion had heard enough to realise that Grinsy was calling for reinforcements.He then looked towards where the second voice came from only to see a large purple orb.There was a moving image of a goblin inside the purple orb.

Orion then looked towards Grinsy who was rapidly losing strengh and stamina as he desperately attempted to escape the enchanted net.Grinsy proceeded to lose consciousness and fall asleep.

"As expected of the mages guild their magic items are powerful and useful."Orion internally praised the enchanted net as well as the mages guild.He then grabbed the net and put it over his shoulder so Grinsys unconscious body couldn't fall out of the net.It was easy to carry due to Orions remarkable strengh.

The rest of the group proceeded to funnel into the room where Orion was.They were immediately glad when they saw the mutated goblin inside Orions net.Torrents face was filled to the brim with horror once he saw the purple orb.

"That's a communication orb why the hell do the goblins have two of them."Torrents face then furrowed in realisation as he remembered that trading caravans were still being attacked and their people and goods were still going missing.

Communication orbs were normally used by magical organisations in order to be able to communicate long distances with their members.The fact that the goblins were able to figure out how to use it meant that their gained intellect probably wasn't inferior to that of humans.

"So your the group that Grinsy was talking about.You should count your remaining seconds.Some of our red caps and sorcerers will be arriving shortly."The goblin on the other end of the communication orb said in a malevolent voice.

"Whatever red caps are I don't want to find out what they are.Ruth you cast a teleportation spell and teleport us all back to Ring City."Torrents orders were frantic and panicked.

Orion immediately thought about what red cap goblins were.In folk lore they were goblins that were incredibly violent and skilled at fighting.Apparently if they didn't commit violence for a long time then they would simply dissipate and disappear.Orion didn't want to believe in the disappearing part however.

A few seconds later Orion heard the sounds of a large number of fast and strong foot steps approaching the farm.

"They are here"Orion abruptly said which startled everyone but Ruth who was quietly casting a teleportation spell.

Torrent handed a space ring over to Orion and gestured for him to keep it.

"You should keep it I don't want my belongings to fall into the hands of the goblins.I'll go hold them off for as long as I can.We're supposed to keep you safe after all."Torrent said as he ran out the building.

Orion instantly heard the sounds of clanging metal and spells being cast as Torrents lonely battle commenced.

With the last notification Orion could no longer hear the sound of clanging metal or spells being cast.The battle was clearly over and Torrent was most likely dead.

"Valdel your the strongest of us now can you please go and check what's happening outside from the window."Eric asked Orion as he was shaking nervously.

Orion then looked outside the closed window where he saw a horrific sight.Goblins of all shapes and sizes were in the tomato fields.There was also the battered and decapitated corpse of Torrent in the middle of it all.The goblins were all cheering and mocking the corpse and also consuming the corpses of their fallen comrades.
