In the middle of a wide farm, surrounding a massive mansion. I know it's rather weird to see a mansion surrounded by a farm. Why will a rich man choose to have a farm surrounding his house?

Well the Strom family's head was a farmer. And thanks to his abilities he successfully built his own company. Talk about rags to riches.

The Strom family only has 3 people in it. The Head, His wife and his son.

His son is very famous.....well for bad reasons.

His son, Mon was very famous due to him being a false awaken. Many sympathized with the kid as he's very outgoing and his dreams was well known. He dreamed of heroes and knights yet his dreams shattered instantly.

And 5 years later, the same boy is now farming in front of his family's mansion. The rumors of him dreaming of heroes doesn't look very obvious as his face seems lazy. His black hair has a medium length, it looks clean yet it's messy at the same time. His height is pretty decent reaching 6'2. He looks pretty good, but not at the stage of girls fawning over his looks. He also wears oversized T shirts, coupled with dark pants. All in all he looks very casual.

Since I was 11 years old or the year after the Awakening age. I've already given up on being someone like the first king. My dreams of defeating the strongest evil, marrying a princess and being hailed as a savior, vanished along with my hope.

Awakening is a ceremony where children try their luck to get a chance to be an Unordinary, people with abilities.

Almost 60% of people successfully awakens and gains powers and abilities. Abilities such as Breathe Fire, Walk on Water, Super Speed, and even stop time.

And among those 60%, 10% of them are false awakens. A state where people completes the ceremony yet they don't gain any abilities.

And yes I was one of such people, I was so happy, completing the ceremony and being successful, yet....

*sigh*

Anyways that's in the past. My dream of being famous vanished and instead I became lazy. But I still know my priorities.

"Mon! wash yourself and let's eat! " My mom called out for me as she's standing in front of the mansion.

I was very near as our lands are very wide. There are a lot of farmers and servants roaming around the area though so it's pretty safe.

Coming! I shouted and I immediately washed myself so my parents wouldn't get hungry waiting for me.

I sat at the chair and after thanking the provider of the food, we immediately started eating. We were talking about random stuff until it reaches the state where they talk about Parallel, the school of Unordinary Humans. They were talking about the 5 individuals who were considered as geniuses among genius. The 5 gifted people of the Human continent. And they're talking about me being in the same school as all of them. Parallel provides education at the age of 15, so the 5 gifted will be at their first years.

Parallel gives education on almost every job out there. Combat, Support, Medical and Scholars.

I enrolled for Parallel this year as part of the Support team as I had no combat capabilities.

Parallel will start the day after tomorrow. And that will be my freshman year as well.

After talking for a while they seemed to have stopped, as they look at me bitterly.

I long forgot about that dream. I don't care about heroes and knights anymore. But, I feel bad for my parents. They were probably the people who suffered the most from that incident. Looking at your bright kid get broken.

I stare at them and just smiled. And they seem to understand that I don't care.

After eating, I was tired after working in the farm so I immediately slept.

In the middle of my sleep, I immediately jolted up.

What the fuck?

That dream was scary.....No that nightmare was scary.

I dreamed that I fell into a hole and a large bull with a machete in his hands attacked me.

That was definitely a minotaur. An evil being created by the miasma of dead people.

Damn.. I stood up and looked outside it was like 4 oclock in the morning so It was still pretty early.

I immediately went outside and strolled around the farm. There's already a decent amount of people outside so it's not scary at all.

I walked in a dazed not caring about what's going on with my surroundings.

Then suddenly I got back to myself and I was still in the farm but I was already far off our mansion.

No worries I'll just ask the workers here.

I approached one worker and asked where was the mansion. He then seemed confused but still pointed at the general direction.

Ah, don't worry I'm Mon. I said as he looks like he doesn't know me. I don't visit these parts after all.

I walked to that direction and after only 10 steps I fell into a huge hole.

Shit! I shouted unconsciously. Thankfully it was shallow only about a floor deep. Damn, I could've died there.

The worker seemed to notice me and immediately called for me and asked for help.

Damn, I'll just wait here. I said as I look at an opening in front of me.

I was very anxious for some reason. It almost feels like...this happened to me before.

Wait....my dreams?!

Then I realized..... I stared directly at the opening in front of me.

Grrr....

I heard low growling. Then after a few seconds of holding my breath. The tip of a weapon revealed itself through the light of the moon, entering in the hole I fell through.

Fuck...

The Minotaur then fully entered the space I was in. It was massive almost as tall as the entire cave. It's horns were long and sharp and his muscles were bulking.

I stared at it for a few seconds until it roared and rushed at me. Shit! I ran to the side as it looked like it was tackling me and not swinging his huge machete.

As I was very quick with my decision I escaped it's tackle. I then ran to the opening it just came out from.

Please tell me he's alone. I prayed

I dashed and entered the cave. Holy shit, It was riddled with dead animals and their bones. There were also human bones left behind. Why is this in our land?

On my right there's his living space as it has huge rugs, I'm guessing it's his bed. and on my left are the bones.

As I had no choice I dashed to the bones and hid beneath the them.

I was held my breath once more as I heard metal clanging due to it getting dragged.

I heard heavy breathing in front of the entrance as it searches for me.

I can only buy a little amount of time, hopefully rescue comes faster.

No, I should think rationally. What do I do?!

I was panicking as I think of ways on how to survive this.

Should I just die? I'm a failure anyways.....

Is what they thought I will think of in this situation but hell no.

Accepting death because I failed in awakening is dumb. Accepting death in itself didn't even cross my mind.

I got a plan but it'll be hard.

After a few seconds, The minotaur seemed to have realized where I was hiding as it rushed here getting ready to swing his sword.

I jumped out and dodged the swing but splinter of bones exploded all over my body. I immediately closed my eyes. Which is very dumb in this situation but I had no choice. If. I lose my sight here I'm good as dead.

As I closed my eyes, I fell on my back. The mino seems to realized my situation so It readied up another swing.

Damn, I thought I was dead there, thankfully it didn't grab me.

I stood up, but my leg was fatally splintered with bones so I failed.

Fuck! I pushed hard enough for it to work. I didn't dodge the swing as it grazed my back. It didn't grazed deep at all. As the very very tip hit, but with that force. I flew forward and nearly loss consciousness.

I felt pain and helplessness in front of it. I was weak and an ordinary.

The minotaur readied up another charge and this time I can't dodge it.

I fought back my drowsiness with every last bit of strength. And as the minotaur was just inches away from me, I pulled out a huge sharp bone directing it on the minotaur's head and using the ground as the base of the force.

" Checkmate "

The minotaur let out a loud screech. Loud enough for the cave to shake violently.

The minotaur slowly died with it's head falling beneath my foot with a huge bone shoved on his skull.

The cave violently shake. Huh, atleast I took you out.

Then I saw guards rushing at my location as I fall down.

But I managed to hear something before I fell asleep.
