Chapter 24: Monster hunters

It took two more days before the portals closed and a few more days before things finally settled down outside, now the streets where just filled with zombies

ok the outside is finally safe, just some low level zombies Romeo said

wow so the portals where open for a week and it took four more days before things came down, where did all the monsters go Sarah asked

I don't know, maybe they took territories, I told you before that they evolved

so we can finally fight them right? Adam asked

not by hand, we need to get weapons first if the zombies are the same as the ones in the movies then one bite and you'll become just like them Nikita said

so what's the plan Romeo asked,

I know this block, there should be a police station near by, we search around there for guns and then we move out, search for any refuge and kill these zombies along the way

alrighty then let's go Adam said all pumped up to be fighting again

the house they where in had a gate and a car inside, surprisingly the place was still good almost like the owner just abandoned it. The moment they stepped into the car and opened the garage door the zombies started pilling up and the gate, Adam opened the gate and with Niki on the wheel drove right through the zombies

while on full speed the door was left open and not long after Adam cought up to the car and hopped in. They soon got to the politic station, Sarah and Romeo went in to search for guns while Adam and Nikita went to stall the zombies

wow what Romeo said is true, they do have levels, which means they get stronger the higher the levels Nikita thought

before she could finish her sentence Romeo had already packed everything with his super speed but some of the guns couldn't fit in the back so he held unto them

they all stopped for a second, normally they wouldn't listen to him but Nikita had seen how easy it was to deal with the level 1 zombies and Sarah and Romeo could see the dead bodies on the floor so he had a point

wow it's heavier than I thought she said but her face went red when Romeo went behind her and held her arms putting them up and pointing them at the incoming zombies

ok so put your hand on the trigger and put your other hand at the bottom of the gun like this, male sure the safety is off, ok carefully aim for the head

Nikita seeing this just gave a cheeky smile and went to stand next to the car

while Adam was at the other side on the lookout behind them

when the zombies where in range Romeo told sarah to shoot but she missed the first time and the bullet hit the shoulder of the zombie

relax ok let's try again

the issue isn't my aim it's your hot breath against my ear she thought and your body so close to mine but she quickly pushed these thoughts away as the zombie started closing the distance between them

hmmm, I was penalized for using those gauntlets but she didn't, why? mine said for using and enhancement equipment, Romeo's gauntlets boost my stats but Sarah is using a gun, it doesn't affect any of her physical attributes, maybe that's why Niki thought looking at Sarah

at this point she had killed ten of them when something strange happened. a zombie started walked out from one of the buildings and started walking faster then the others towards them

no let Sarah kill it Romeo said, stay calm and take your aim

the zombie fell to the floor

another level 2 appeared with a level 3 but they didn't attack, they started shacking and suddenly they duplicated and they're duplicates also started shacking and duplicated, this happened three more times till they here over a thousand

Adam we don't have time to argue we can't take that many head on Nikita said

yes we can, with our speed we can dwindle the number while Sarah kills the rest with the guns and Romeo can watch her back, that way we all get to do something and level up

with the plan set Adam and niki dashed at the zombies bashing they're heads with a single punch and with the speed they numbers where quickly dwindling but there was an issue

some zombies stayed behind and kept multiplying while the rest ran towards Sarah

ok Sarah we'll upgrade to this he said bringing out a cult M4 carbine

so you hold this to your shoulder like this and then you aim, hold it steady and strong ok then you aim and fire, it took a while put then she started killing them one after the other, in just a few kills she had reached level ten

hey Romeo it's not Shooting anymore

that because the mag is empty you need to reload

hey how long where you going let those things duplicate niki said holding the head of a zombie

but the more she fired her gun the more zombies and other monsters she attracted
