Waiting For You.

Katherine looked at the distance as if waiting for someone to come in when a frown formed on her face but even when her expressions continued to change, she did not say a word.

The maids were filled with curiosity but did not dare to come forward and ask. They only exchanged glances as they continued to stand in the corner.

Katherine opened another file but her gaze lingered on the door and in the end, not a word went in her mind. Her frown was turning into anxiety now.

"You, go and check what Luci is doing in his palace?" the maid trembled at the tone, it sounded like she was calling him to cut his throat and torment him until he died.

Nodding her head, she prayed in her heart that nothing bad would happen to their master. But the woman was crazy and worked on a whim.

How she abandoned the crown princes and now transferred her whole staff except two of them on a whim. She wished she would have been of those who left.

Sigh! Thank goodness she did not need to call the prince and let him face her wrath.

She reached the palace where Luci was sitting in a library and scribbling something on the paper.

He turned to her when he felt her gaze and his eyes narrowed. But he changed his expressions instantly and smiled like a sweet innocent kid.

"Do you need something from me?" he asked in a sweet voice as he waved his hands to ask her to come closer.

"No! My lord. I just wanted to know what you are doing?" Is my mother keeping an eye on me now? Why? Did she want to do something and wanted to make sure that i am busy so that i could not interfere in it!

"I was making notes for tomorrow's class. But I can do that later, if my mother needs me. After all, mother is the most important person to me." aww! His cuteness was all over.

He was looking so adorable in that sky blue knickers with white shirt neatly tucked in that she wanted to pinch him but she knew she would be dead if she did so!

"I.l. will tell her majesty about your kind words, your royal highness.'' The maid bowed and left hurriedly in case she couldn't resist his charms and pinch those cute chubby cheeks.

But just as she turned, the sweet smile on his face vanished in an instant as he closed the book in his hands with a thud.

The book was about the lists of royalty that showed a chart of all the royals and their connection to each other and in his hands was a list of all the relatives of Lennox.

Since marquis was out of the question due to some reason, he needed to find another relative before Len would get isolated.

He had thought long and hard why his mother had changed the teacher suddenly and only came to a conclusion that she wanted to isolate Len from every relative so that he would not have any support.

In the name of renovation, she had already asked him to live with her to keep an eye on his growth. Only god knew what other devious plan she had.

No! He could not just sit here and imagine, he needed to know what was happening there.

He stood and left the room briskly but just as he reached towards the exit. Four guards turned to look at him with their stern gaze.

"I am going to meet my mother since she looks worried about me." these damn guards, until he turns 10, they are going to decide whether he should be out or not in the name of his security.

What a damn rule!

"Ah, let us escort you, your highness." the man forwarded his hands as if he wanted to hold a kid making Luci cringe.

He was 25 alright. He did not need to hold hands while walking. Even if they think he was 5, he had passed the age of holding hands. But he could not say so. He had to be the most charming prince to get his things done.

Holding the hands while cursing in his heart. He took hurried steps towards the palace of his mother.

"Your majesty, the royal prince was studying diligently. He said he was preparing for tomorrow's class." The frown on her face only increased, making the maid cower in fear.

She had thought that an ever so strict mother would be happy that her son was studying instead of playing or wasting his time but why did her face look so bitter. As if she had eaten something foul and neither swallowed it nor spit it.

"Your majesty, his highness, prince Lucio is here asking for an audience." The face that was crumbling like a tree in the autumn instantly bloomed as if the first rain of spring had fallen on it, quenching its thirst.

"Let him in. and you, go and bring the best snacks that kids like." baffled by the sudden change in her attitude, the maid wanted to stay and fill her curiosity of what was happening but could only nod and leave. She would just go and come back instantly with snacks and then see why her majesty was behaving so weirdly.

She should have been happy first when the kid was studying and angry when he left work and came here to waste both of their time. That was how it happened so far! Then why did it happen the opposite today?

She bowed her head when she saw Luci entering the room who nodded back with a smile making her heart tremble again.

He entered the room to see his mother sitting on the sofa instead of her office chair but there was no tea and this was not her time to take a break. Was she expecting guests? And why did she look so happy?

"You are here. I was just about to have tea. Come and join me."

Author's Notes: When she changed Luci's teacher, she was expecting him to come and thank her and feel that she cared for him but felt bad when he did not. On the other hand, Luci felt that she wanted him to not come, so he went intentionally. Not only to keep an eye on her but also to annoy her but the result was completely different. And now she think that their relationship had improved since he come to meet her after finishing his work.
