38 [Bonus chapter] Told him

Len blinked. If it would have been any other time, he would have blatantly told her that he was not going to have sweets anymore but looking at her pride face that looked too excited, he smiled and mirrored the same enthusiasm.

"So, there is no other question related to your class and studies?" she asked again when they came in terms with their changing relationship and its development.

Len shook his head. He would do extra work later that she did not need to know. If she was happy with his work getting lessened, no matter what the reason was, he would let her stay in that bubble of happiness.

She nodded with a look of satisfaction on her face. Soon, the maids came with snacks and tea and placed it on the table.

"Umm, your majesty, shall i go and call Lucio too. He would be starving!" She raised a brow at that. Luci and starving?

She could already imagine the butler doing his work while he will only be supervising while having all the snacks given by maids thinking that he was a poor boy with such a difficult task, yet she nodded her head.

It would be better if she could have a meal with both of them. Maybe looking at the acceptance of Lennox, he might change his mind too.

She nodded slightly when Len sprung up from his seat as if nails were hurting him.

"You can ask the maids to call him too." he shook his head and ran out of the room.

Taking hasty breaths, he leaned on the wall near the room. His heart beat was so fast from the moment he nodded his head and suddenly the place felt so cramped as if he could not breathe in there.

He was so anxious that he could not explain. He needed luci to lighten the mood.

He opened the door and entered the room with a worried look on his face but was surprised to see that Luci was having apples that were cut in the shape of a bird while the steward was doing all the filing work.

Luci stood up abruptly when he saw the door being opened but his expressions soon turned to casual when it was only Len who entered.

"Brother, I know that you will come back soon. Do you want to have apples with me." with a wide knowing grin on his face, he gestured to Len to come closer who frowned.

"And here I thought that you are getting tormented by so much hard work." he took a sigh superficially as he walked in and stood behind the steward who was bowing his head.

"How much of the work is done?" he asked as he flipped the recent pages and was impressed to see everything was done well.

If taken from the point of view of efficiency, what Luci did was a good decision but…. If they would give all their work to their staff, it shows their lack of efficiency and there are always chances of confidential information leaking out.

"It is almost done, your highness. I was just going to double check it." len nodded and then picked up the file.

"I will do that. You may leave. And you, her majesty is calling you to have tea with her." Luci nodded her head nonchalantly as he stood up from the sofa and patted his hands on his dress.

His complexion had turned rosier and his smile was adorable but the look in his eyes did not look like a kid.

"Have you ever thought why mother is trying to get closer to you?"

"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" thump! The thought that did not leave him even for a second though he told himself that he did not care about the reason, came bare in front of him again.

His eyes snapped back to Luci who was looking at him with a knowing look.

"There is no such thing. He is only trying to be a good hostess." Luci snorted. He knew that his brother had noticed the small efforts too and the moment she asked him to work while taking Leone with her for a walk, it was clear that he was the target.

"She wanted to be closer to father. She knew that father only cared about you out of both of us because you will take his place in the future.

She must be vying for his attention and you are just a ladder. I did not want you to keep your hopes high only to regret in the future." he reminded as he was sure that len would be fooled. If he did not know the past, he would have believed that the emotions of his mother were real.

Her pale face in the morning was too believable and natural.

"Once father would meet her and talk to her, she would forget about us so, do not.." he could see that his brother did not believe him as his face continued to turn darker but just as they reached the door of his mother's dining room.

They noticed four personal knights of his father and a dark smirk formed on the face of Luci.

"My goodness! The result came sooner than I had expected!" He covered his mouth with both hands and took an audible gasp.

The knights turned to look at both of them and bowed their heads.

"Your highness the crown prince, second princess, may the light fall upon you.

You can not go in at this moment since his majesty is having a personal conversation with her majesty." Len, whose face had turned colder, nodded and turned to leave when Luci followed him with hurried steps.

"See, i have told you in advance but you never believed in me."
