22Chapter 21: The Devil games

AN - i was tempted to try a gamer story as my 2nd story since pacing is a necessity in them, but then i thought about all the numbers, perks, and other shit like that and realized i'd fucking suck at it. I have a few ideas on what i'd want my other story to be, though i'm not decided on it yet.

Anyway i still don't own anything but my OCS.

There's hardly any dialogue here, since i'm basically skipping over this arc, so this is a skipable chapter.

{Tara's POV}

Waking up and doing my routine was pretty much second nature to me. Kuroka helped wake the other girls up, and we all went for a morning shower. No one cared about our nudeness anymore, and the shower went by great. Irina had discovered the joys of leaving our tail out in the mornings, even if her tail hardly passed her waist, she still enjoyed having it out. Rias was a little jealous, but after finding out the Dragon Seeds and the Evil Pieces were incompatible, and she'd lose the connection she had to her peerage if she used it, she eventually gave in. Though it may have needed a few cakes to console her, and for me to keep Irina from gloating anymore then she already was.

Our morning started as it usually did, we got dressed, went down for breakfast, accepted that the super loli would always show up for her milk and cookies, and talked as we ate. Today was the start of the Youth Devil's Gathering, and we were all ready for it. Though Martha, Irina, Kuroka and i wouldn't be doing anything. We may be affiliated with their peerages, but we couldn't participate in this event. Serafall helped get us in on the spectating side of things, so we would still be there for them. So after we all ate, broke off into the groups of Rias and her peerage, Sona with hers, and Irina and Kuroka with Martha me. we wanted to be with our groups, but for this, we couldn't. So there we were, all ready and waiting, and Serafall let's herself in. Magical girl outfit, with the wand we bought her strapped to her side, and everything.

"Magical girl Levia-tan reporting in! So-tan's, and everyone else's too, time to shine in the spotlight is nigh!" Everyone, minus Sona since she was still embarrassed, rolled our eyes at that. Serafall just pouted at our response and just rushed to Sona's side. "So-tan, they're being mean to the best magical girl in the underworld! Help meeeee." Sona couldn't even look at her sister, and just took her glasses off and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Leviathan-sama, could you please act your station?" Serafall made this pained whine, and Sona gave in. Their usual routine later, we were all teleported to hell. Thinking 'hey, i've gone to hell,' would always make me laugh. We were at this building that i didn't care to look at too much, since it was too big, just like all Devil architecture was, and i was used to it by now.

We all walked together for a bit, then a wild Sirzechs, and was only stopped from latching onto Rias because Grayfia held him back. Our groups broke off, after Rias and Sona got hugs from their actual siblings, and me and the girls went with the sis-con satans. They made sure Kuroka knew she couldn't go anywhere on her own, which we all knew why since she wasn't fully cleared yet, and we talked about casual things. I was fine being around them both now, even the usual whisper my instincts had become while i was with Sirzechs, didn't feel like bolting out of my skin to get away from him, thank Ophis for small blessings and being a force of ungodly nature. Our relationship, both mine and Martha's, with Sirzechs was a little strange. We were close, and i think a part of all of us knew there was a chance for him to become a brother to us, though i don't think he really knew how to do so.

With Rias, it was easy. For us? Neither of us had brothers, and we didn't exactly know how to put him in that label. We had maybe half a year of total interaction time, he was that busy, so we never had enough time to properly find a dynamic between all of us. Though i'm pretty sure we knew how it'd go. Martha would keep him in line, like Grayfia, i'd let him indulge in his hugs of Rias, and chill with him, and he'd chill with me and talk with Martha. The two could actually hold conversation, and delve into magic shit where i'd zone out on, while the two of us just talked about random shit. Just like now, those conversations were nice. We ended up in the viewing area of the Youth Devil's Gathering, and we saw the others come in. The competition all looked towards Rias and Sona's peerages, and the gathering began.

I was tempted to call out to Sairaorg, since i didn't get the chance to do so when we came in, but i'd do it later. We watched them talk, and disagree about something, which ended up with Sairaorg having to shut it down. From there, the introductions had begun, and Sairaorg chose to go first. Hearing him declare he'd surpass Sirzechs was great. There was silence, then some old fucks started whispering or shouting, but they all shut up when Sirzechs looked at them. The rest of the contestants, except for Rias and Sona's groups, were still stunned. Then they went back to the introductions and goals... Now if only i could figure out why this one guy was staring at Asia... Eh, i'll blast him later if he tries anything.

From there, some blue haired asshole got up, introduced himself, all cocky and shit, and directed a side glance to Rias, Sona and the other female king. He seemed to have some form of self control, considering Sirzechs and Sairaorg were in the same room, but i knew that look. I narrowed my eyes as i looked at him, and i couldn't help the low growl coming from my throat. The guy froze for a second, and i saw as he looked around. When he spotted me, i made sure my eyes were their dragon variant, and i just stared at him. I hadn't bothered putting my tail back in, everyone knew i was a dragon so there wasn't a point, so it may or may not have been menacingly swaying behind me. Though i only got a few seconds of intimidation off before i got whacked in the back of the head.

I looked and saw it was Martha, who rolled her eyes when i looked at her. "You can threaten the leech later. This isn't the time or place to do so Tara." I clicked my tongue at that, and turned back to the room. I gave the guy one last look, and threw in a glare for good measure, then looked back at the other people in the room. The other female king, an Seekvaira woman, which was a name i knew i was going to shorten to something else later, and her goal. Then came the guy looking at Asia more then he should've, and i looked at him. {Doesn't something feel... Off about him?} Martha looked at him too, and i heard her hum as she did. {Seems similar to Ophis. Maybe one of those snakes she mentioned.} {The fuck?! Then shouldn't we tell them?} {We could. But unless he uses it, we can't do anything. No one else seems to notice it, and we can't get him eliminated without favoritism being called, so we'll just have to wait.}

I groaned at that. There was someone within range, but i couldn't deal with him. It was an annoying thing. After the guy was done, the last of the introductions happened, and it was Sona's turn. We knew of her dream to create a school, so it wasn't a surprise to us. But when the older Devils outright laughed at it? I could feel Martha's annoyance and the subtle layer of anger course through her, and i was no better. Serafall was also getting a little pissed, so the three of us did our thing. Serafall let some of her presence out, and Martha and i roared. Martha was VERY supportive of Sona's dream, and looked forward to being her vice-principle, or whatever position they worked out for her, so her roar may have been a tad bit louder and more annoyed then mine was. That combination of dragon roars and a pissed satan, made everyone silent.

The old fuckers knew that if they wanted to live to see tomorrow, they'd have to shut it. The guy i glared at seemed to be even more afraid to look in my direction, and the other kings just looked caught off guard and a small bit afraid. Wasn't sure if it was us or Serafall they were scared of, but i could be both, so i just shrugged it off. "Nee, it isn't nice to laugh at people. Right everyone?" Serafall just added another nail to that coffin, and the old guys didn't say much else. They saved the best for last, and Rias went up. Sirzechs knew of Rias' goal, they'd talked about it before, but it still made him proud when she said it. The older Devil's learned their lesson, and just accepted the goal, and things went from there. The brackets were announced, and the first matches were set. Seeing that it was Rias vs Sona right off the bat made both me and Martha blink.

We just looked at Sirzechs, and he just awkwardly scratched the side of his cheek. Serafall just let out this neutral hum, and my girls just looked interested. They started speculating how long it'd take and who'd win, we all, minus Martha and Serafall, bet on Rias winning. She was very good with her magic, Kiba could out-duel Tomoe, Koneko and Tsubasa had an equal understanding of martial arts, Saji could maybe hold off Akeno, though Tsubaki definitely could. Her Mirror Alice would force Akeno into CQC, and Tsubaki was good with her Naginata. Mom could probably drop them all though, but Sona would plan around her, so i wasn't sure how that'd go. Ruruko, Momo and Yura could do anything though.

Yura and Momo were great with magic, and we'd found out Ruruko was actually talented with [Renewal Taekwondo.] She gravitated towards the kicking style like a moth to a flame, but Tsubasa and Koneko were still better then her. Which was normal, since Koneko had practiced for years, and Tsubasa fought a lot in her life. If it's Momo and Yura, they could probably restrain mom or Issei long enough to pull something off. Though i wasn't sure what. Rias had more power on her side, even if Asia was a pure healer, and Gasper was still a nervous wreck, but Sona was more balanced out. Besides, she knows about almost everything Rias and her peerage can do, so the plans she could make might be an issue. Though Issei could just use his 'Balance Breaker,' and boost a fuck-ton and bulldoze his way through anything. Ddraig could too, but he was sitting the gathering out, unless something fun came out.

We were talking about how it could go, and then the match itself actually started. Rias was at the front and moved with Akeno and mom, Kiba went with Koneko and Issei, and Xenovia moved with Gasper and Asia. Mom took the lead on the ground, and Akeno took to the sky with Rias. Koneko's team and Xenovia's team split, and they moved to opposite sides. I focused on them, and i watched as Koneko's team was up for the first fight. Her team met Tsubasa and Ruruko..? I was confused, but i looked around the screens, and saw Momo was in the back, preparing a spell of some kind. I hummed at that. Koneko and Tsubasa went into their usual rivalry and went after the other, and Ruruko went after Issei as she promoted to knight.

Issei was caught off guard for a moment, since they've rarely fought each other in all the time they've known each other, so Issei was never used to her approach. Kiba looked like he was going to go help Issei, but he ended up being contained inside a barrier that suddenly came up. Koneko noticed her team being caught off guard, but she was caught up with Tsubasa. Momo's barrier kept Kiba preoccupied, and even when he used 'Mana Deleter,' a sword that said 'fuck you magic' to start cutting out of it, Momo would just aim for his legs or arms. As long as he couldn't reach them, his sword wouldn't help him. Though Issei managed to get his shit together fast enough to defend himself and start countering Ruruko.

Issei boosted up and hit Ruruko hard enough to send her reeling, and he sent his current boost to Koneko. That gave her the edge she needed to start putting the pressure on Tsubasa. Issei re-engaged Ruruko, and he held off long enough to boost again. He held it and put the hurt on her, forcing her to change to a Rook. Ruruko was doing great, and then Issei got his next boost and punched her in Momo's general direction. The wild Ruruko broke Momo's concentration, and Kiba was allowed to move without being stopped. He charged after Momo, and almost got her. But as he got close to her, the area around Momo erupted in spikes of stone and steel. Kiba blocked a few spikes but took a nasty stone spike to the leg. He had to fall back, but he sent a small barrage of swords at them as he did. Kiba did like seeing me do it, and his sacred gear let him do it. He couldn't pull a Gate of Babylon, but maybe he'd get there.

With Kiba retreating over to Issei, and Koneko breaking one of Tsubasa's arms, the pushed together. Koneko used Senjutsu on her legs, and Kicked Tsubasa back as the boys focused onto her. Kiba used his speed, either ignoring his injury, or it not being bad enough to affect his speed, and started cutting into Tsubasa. Issei got in on it, and Koneko kept Tsubasa too busy fending her off to stop the boys. Though even being ganged up on, Tsubasa held off long enough for backup. Ruruko had swapped back to knight, and pulled a fucking 'DYNAMIC ENTRY' on Kiba. Or she tried too. Issei saw her coming, and not being distracted by the up-skirt, grabbed Ruruko by the leg, and swung her into Tsubasa. Koneko and Kiba saw what was going on, and moved out of the way before they hit by that too. But now that both girls were distracted by the other, they all went in for an All-Out-Attack! Which made me snort when i had that thought.

They made Ruruko retire, but Tsubasa was still in it. Momo managed to get her in a barrier, and made her retreat into the ground. Koneko's team tried to turn their attention to Momo, but she was already retreating. Though she did leave them a surprise. The defense and rescue of Tsubasa wasn't the only thing she did. When the trio tried to go after her, they ended up setting off an explosion rune. The blast sent them reeling, but none of them retired. Kiba did look close to it though. From there, the trio went off to the direction of Xenovia's team, to heal and re-group. Said team was currently in desperate need of assistance though. Xenovia was trapped dealing with Saji and Tomoe, while Gasper was trying to help. While Xenovia fended off Tomoe, Saji would end up frozen in place a few times, but unfreeze a few seconds later.

Gasper's sacred gear was still hard for him to control, but Martha was able to help the kid a bit. He would still freak the fuck out sometimes and almost freeze the house in time, but wards and runes are a powerful thing. Gasper could keep someone paused for 10 seconds at most, and he had a 5 second cooldown with it. He could push it, sure, but then he'd end up panicking a bit later. It was usually Asia or Tomoe that would help him, which was why Asia went with them in the first place. It annoyed me to admit, but Xenovia took my spars and advice on swordplay and absorbed it like a sponge. It was why she wasn't exactly struggling against Saji and Tomoe. All she needed was a clean hit on either of them, and she'd have breathing room to retire one of them. It annoyed me even more when that opportunity came in the form of the little tyke blasting a frozen Saji.

Saji unfroze and started spazing out. Xenovia forced Tomoe back, and slashed Saji clean on the chest. She cut into him, but she couldn't retire him since Tomoe came back in and tried to land a slash against Xenovia's dominant arm. She blocked it, but she was forced to fight Tomoe off as Saji tried to reposition further back. Though without the constant pressure against her from Saji, Xenovia managed to get a clean hit on Tomoe's side. That hit opened her up to a follow up that would force Tomoe to either block or retire. She managed to block in time, but she was officially on the back foot now. Saji tried to help, but Gasper froze him again, and the little tyke sent a blast at Tomoe, and helped Xenovia land another blow on her. It wasn't enough to retire, but Tomoe would be out of commission until she met up with Tsubaki and got healed.

The duo knew they wouldn't be able to inflict anymore damage, so they retreated after Saji unfroze. Xenovia stayed by her charges, and made sure it was an actual retreat, and relaxed a bit when she saw they weren't coming back. She let Asia start healing her, since she did get hurt fighting 2 on 1, but they weren't that bad. Xenovia got healed up, and started to move, but then Rias shot out a flare of destruction, which signaled wounded were incoming. Xenovia's group saw that, and fired up a flare of their own courtesy of the tyke. Another flare, and they were now waiting for Koneko's group to meet up. After 5 minutes, they did. The healing started, and they were good to go after another few seconds. Both groups broke off from there, and went back to their advance.

For a bit, nothing happened. I got a little curious, so i checked to see what was going on with Sona's side. I saw Tsubasa, Saji and Tomoe had gotten healed, not as well as Asia's healing, but healed enough. Sona seemed to be making an array with Yura and Tsubaki, Momo who ended up staying to help, was creating barriers and setting traps. Tsubasa had joined Tomoe's team, and they were securing the area around them. "Hmm, i don't think i recognize that kind of array. Was it something you taught her Martha-chan?" She turned to Sirzechs when he asked, and just started to hum. "It's something we worked on. When i first learned how to create storms, Sona was interested about weather manipulation. That grew when she learned how her magic was boosted with the storms. We worked together with various magics, but the girls learned they didn't have the reserves necessary to use storm magic. After a while, Sona came up with an array.

We worked on it, and this formation came into being. The array works on gathering water from the surrounding air, plant life, and even underground. While that happens, the weather will start to shift into a thunderstorm. If they pull it off, they'll gain a massive advantage. I wouldn't even be surprised if Sona washed away the competition." I groaned at that. Kuroka and Irina giggled, and Serafall seemed to have some stars in her eyes at the prospect of Sona winning. Sirzechs just seemed interested at the array. He hummed, and went back to watching the match. The array was looking almost done, and the weather affects were already starting to appear. Rias and her peerage noticed the changes, and they started to speed up their advance. They ran ahead, and Koneko's group came up on a barrier set up by Momo.

Kiba created another 'Mana Deleter' and started cutting through the barrier. And got a face full of explosion, again. It wasn't that bad, but he wouldn't be swinging his swords without another session of healing. Issei went over to Kiba, and helped him back up. They ignored Ddraig's laughter, and moved on. Xenovia's group ran into Tomoe's group, and things were looking bad. Tomoe flirted with Gasper, which kept him from using his sacred gear out of embarrassment, which forced Xenovia to fight Saji and Tsubasa on her own. Rias' group made it to another barrier, but blasted right through it, and moved towards Sona. But the array was done before they got there. The sky was being filled with dark clouds, and the first drops of rain started to fall. Rias' group moved with urgency, and mom was given permission to go ahead. She turned into a bolt of lightning, and raced towards Sona.

She ran right into a barrier, one that seemed specifically for her since she was forced out of her bolt form, and back into her normal self. Mom tried to break out, and was starting to make some progress, but the message of Xenovia being retired, with Asia and Gasper following, made her stop for a second. After that, mom started beating the barrier even harder, and started making cracks appear all over it. Rias and Akeno had caught up, and they saw her break free. They kept moving, and made it to Sona's group. Momo, Yura and Tsubaki intercepted them, and mom stayed with Akeno to deal with them. Rias moved on to Sona's position, and caught her. Sona and Rias faced each other, Koneko's group met up against more obstacles, and the lightning duo of mom and Akeno were in combat against the magic squad of Sona's peerage.

We watched as Rias and Sona stared the other down, and then attacked at the same time. Sona created a massive wave of water, and Rias made a wave of destruction, and they fired them at each other. The waves collided, and their battle begun. Sona used the rain to create spears of water and even some of ice, and Rias started creating a belt of destruction bullets for a gattling. They fired them at the other, avoided shots that made it through their attacks, and retaliated when they could. Both girls sucked at CQC, so they maintained their distance, and fought like mages. As they did that, mom was busy fighting Momo and Tsubaki. Akeno was fighting golems made by Yura, and trying to blast them all to deal with her, and mom was constantly dealing with barriers that stopped her from landing a crippling blow against Tsubaki.

Mom was starting to get annoyed, so she coated herself in her lightning, and slammed her heel into the ground. Lightning surged outwards, and electrocuted Momo, giving mom the chance to land a nasty strike to Momo's head, knocking her out and retiring her. With Momo down, mom was able to focus on Tsubaki, and Akeno was able to use Yura's surprise to blast her with lightning. It wasn't enough to knock her out, but she took enough damage to make her golems unstable. Akeno and mom had the upper hand, and it was only a matter of time until they knocked the other girls out. Meanwhile, i checked Koneko's team, and saw they ran out of barriers and traps to interrupt them, but got intercepted by Tomoe's group. Even though they were tired, they just needed to hold them off, and they could do that.

Well, they could... If Koneko and Kiba didn't stall them long enough, ending up with him retiring, for Issei to boost up to 4, pass them to Koneko, and let my daughter drop them like flies. With that skirmish done, the group ran towards Akeno and mom, and were ready to back them up. Though, mom retired Tsubaki soon after they were done with Tomoe's team, and helped Akeno deal with Yura. With everyone else retired, they met up, and went towards Rias and Sona's fight. That fight was actually going good, both girls had landed decent hits against the other, but Rias had the upper-hand. The group watched as the girls fought, and we all saw the final confrontation happen. The girls had gathered massive mounts of destruction and water, and formed it to their whims.

Rias created a dragon of destruction, and Sona created a compact water dragon, and they soared after the other. The explosion of power made winds whip around everyone and clouds of dust and smoke appear, and when we saw the smoke clear, Sona had crashed into the ground, and was retired. Me and my girls cheered, Serafall pouted, Martha sighed, and Sirzechs was proud. After that, we all celebrated, including Sona and her peerage since they weren't sore losers, and we had fun. We all went back to our usual routine over the week of the Youth Devil's Gathering, just the underworld version. I took my time to go visit Leblanc with Martha and the rest of my girls, and enjoyed that morning and Boss' surprised expression. Akira was at school at the time, so i missed him, but Martha and i left him a scale as a present. I tuned out the rest of the week and the other games, and congratulated Sairaorg and his peerage when they won. I got another date out of the guy and used my new abilities on him, which he enjoyed fighting against, and we almost leveled the mansion when we got too into it, but it was still a fun date.

Eventually that Diodara guy started a conversation with Rias, which led into Issei asking why he looked at Asia so much, which then led into the reveal that he was the Devil she healed, which THEN led into us being suspicious as fuck of him. The guy was a High-Class Devil, had a peerage and everything, but he coincidentally runs into something that hurts him and finds the wielder of Twilight Healing to patch him up? Even Irina smelled bullshit, so we had our guards up around him. Then Kuroka remembered he was a member of the Kaos Brigade, we used that as evidence to let me blast the fucker after he lost to Rias. It was great. He got pushed so hard that he said fuck it and used Ophis' snake during the match. When Issei used his Balance Breaker on him, he started raving after he realized he would still lose, and let it slip he did it on purpose so he could get his grubby little hands on Asia and make her his, and that set us all off. Asia was a sweet little cinnamon roll, and the whole house loved her.

When the match between him and Rias ended, Sirzechs used Kuroka's testimony, the footage of him using an Ophis snake, and he let us have him. Irina and Xenovia got first dibs on him, then things went from there. The rest of the peerage got a shot at him, Sona and her peerage joined in too, and then it was my turn. I transformed, and stared down at the guy, and opened my maw. I finally got the chance to blast someone to hell, in hell, and i was going to enjoy it. I chomped down on his leg, treated him like a doggy toy, and threw him up into the air. I kept my maw opened, and fired off a fully charged roar at the guy. I blasted him to hell, and felt better after i did. The rest of our time there was us relaxing after the games, and just enjoying the time there.

Eventually it came time for Rias to fight Sairaorg, and the match went as we all expected. Though Rias had put up a VERY good fight. But Sairaorg knew Issei would be a threat, but still challenged him to use his boosts and Balance Breaker. Their fight was pretty badass, but when Sairaorg had Regulus, used 'Touki' and his full combo of his [Full Contact Karate,] he broke through Issei's boost and Balance Breaker, and knocked him out with a really hard hit to the head. From there, Sairaorg's peerage went to fight the other members of Rias' peerage. Kiba used his Balance Breaker, and actually retired 2 members of Sairaorg's peerage. The Queen of his peerage had made sure to retire Asia and Gasper, and ended up fighting off mom and Akeno. She held them off long enough for the other members of Sairaorg's peerage to retire the rest of Rias' peerage.

When Rias and Sairaorg were facing the other, it was a no brainer on who'd win. Sairaorg hit Rias with his 'Touki' boosted dance, and she was out. We all celebrated, with lots of cake to help a pouty Rias, and enjoyed the celebration. We congratulated Sairaorg, and i gave him a 'present' for his win. With that all done, we went home, and went on with our lives. We had a while of relative normality, until a month and a bit later, when Azazel comes in, says 'Odin's going to be dropping by' and makes sure Martha knows the guy's a pervert. Azazel seemed a bit possessive of Martha, but none of us minded. Their relationship was going great, and we all liked that... Though i still wished i had enough power to beat the shit out of him if i needed too, but i couldn't. I wasn't even able to force my dragon form to grow with some growth magic. Since my forms were linked, if i grew with magic, my human form would change because of it. So if i asked to be aged 100 years in my dragon form, my human form would age 100 years appearance wise, and i was NOT going to turn into a hag because i couldn't wait.

We got ready for THE norse god to appear in the territory, and made sure Ophis would have no reason to suddenly appear and accidentally cause a war. We stocked up on oreos, milk, pre-made brownies with the little things in em, homemade brownies, and cookies. Ophis didn't question why we suddenly let her have a small mountain of sweets, she just hugged Martha, and took it all to her room. We all breathed a sigh of relief when we were done, and made sure we weren't forgetting anything. When we were sure there wasn't anything else, we relaxed and waited for the big daddy of the norse pantheon to drop on by for a visit... Though maybe we should've prepared a little more. But to be fair, i don't think any of us expected a certain trickster to start shit.
