A Long Dream

Renata opened her eyes to see her father still sleeping beside her. The night felt so surreal as if it was a dream. Had he been serious or was it just the spur of the moment.

She stared at the three deep lines that were forming on his forehead and frowned.

Raising her tiny hands, she soothed him when she noticed that his face was relaxing.

His large eyelashes, and his fair face looked so handsome. No wonder her step mother was crazy for her father!

Come to think of it, he had only ignored her in the start, his mood changed and he started to hurt her only when he married her stepmother.

If she could find a better wife to her father, then he would not hate her. As the thought crossed her mind, she jolted awake and sat on the bed.

Yes! That was it! Why had she not thought about it before!? 

If she could find a better wife for her father that would love her too, then she did not need to run away with the gold.
