A Genius

  "I am disappointed with your level of intelligence." Aiden's eyes twitched hearing the comment from a young little girl who was looking at him with disdain.

"Umm, then what is your opinion, princess." he asked, trying his best to not laugh at her reply.

Renata looked at confused Elric and then at her father whose face was still unreadable. 

She was not sure if he was interested in the topic or not but she hoped that she would earn some brownie points though it.

"Well, we are talking about the palaces that are the property of the royal family.

If you demolish them just because they are not being used frequently you are raising a doubt about the financial condition of the empire.

The commoners would think that the empire is not able to maintain expenses and the panic would arise. 

They would try to sell goods at a cheaper rate to earn more money but in the end, they would earn less and we will have less tax from them.
