Chapter 1: Sacrifice (Part 1)

"Nine Moon Sect was destroyed?!"

"Destroyed? No! It was utterly decimated, razed to final blades of grass! And everyone there was massacred. The whole sect now a horror field with piles of blood and flesh scattered across!"

"I have also heard the rumour that Mystic Fairy is missing. Not dead. Missing."

"As one of the top three beauties within 100,000 miles, I truly dread what she must be going through presently."

"May heavens have mercy. Who would do such a devious act? Who even have such strength? To flatten one of the Six Major Sect overnight!"

"They say when 'they' arrived, the Heavens split and Earth trembled under their might. Horrifyingly enough, there also seemed to be sighting of thousand foot wide Jade Palm! It smashed down and reduced the main palace of Nine Moon Sect to rubbles!"

"Really, what is happening in Eastern Region?"

"We can only wait and see…"

Murmurs, whispers and rumours travelled far and wide, reaching everyone's ears in Eastern Region. As one of the Six Major Sect, and a hegemony that controlled over ten Kingdoms, the overnight destruction of Nine Moon Sect were like ringing bells to many.

It was as if the ground beneath their feet was disappearing and everyone feared this unknown who could bare their fangs toward them at any moment.

A Major Sect was an infallible existence, a place that had countless experts and monsters who could slice a mountains apart and fly through the air freely.

If a Major Sect can disappear overnight, then who's to say they cannot? Just who was behind it? And what was their motive? Was it done by just one ancient expert Nine Moon Sect offended or they were just subjected to whim of a greater power?

These questions were going to haunt every Major Sect and powerhouse in Eastern Region for a long time.

Far away from Eastern Region, the entrance of a courtyard opened and three people walked in. Right after the entrance was a beautiful garden with neatly lined enchanting and unique flowers and herbs. It looked absolutely beautiful and could stimulate anyone's desire to stand amidst them and take a deep whiff. However, the three walked pass it without sparing a glance.

Led by a woman in tight black outfit and dark thin complete body armour that wrapped over devilishly curvy and busty body, the three entered the main entryway of the courtyard. Without stopping, they continued their march, passing by multiple buildings and yards as they finally reached their destination.

Pausing right before opening the door, the woman in tight black clothing faced the other two, specifically the man and spoke quietly. "She is held here." Her tone had an undercurrent of distaste.

The man never spared her a glance, his purple eyes were fixated on the door strictly. A light of impatience flashed in their depths as he barked, "What are you waiting for then, Gu Xing, invitation? Open it."

Listening to his overbearing and brusque tone, Gu Xing secretly gnashed her teeth. If only this rascal wasn't Matriarch's son, she'd shown him his place in this world.

To think there would come a day when she'll get pushed around by a mere Refining Foundation Stage brat. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to proclaim that even her fragrant fart could erase his existence. Alas, his position and importance was higher than her, hence she could only acquiesce.

She extended her slender hand and pushed open the door of the mysterious room. The group of three then stepped inside. There was distinct lack of any furniture in the room and the only living thing inside was a woman in spotless white dress.

The woman was chained and motionless, four dark and bone-chillingly cold shackles were restraining her limbs. Her spotless white dress contained specks of undeserving dust and her countenance was weary. There was a red rash that had formed underneath her eyes, possibly due to crying. Her peerless face which could capture any man's heart in a Zapp was somewhat marred with clear signs of exhaustion yet her honeyed eyes were crystal-clear and as cold as dark star in the night.

She was Mystic Fairy. One of the most beautiful maiden of Eastern Region. But more importantly, she is the most talented cultivator that has born there in millenniums!

At the mere age of 32, she has reached Nascent Soul Stage! If taken in prospective, the pervious individual to reach this stage quickest in Eastern Region was at the age of 94!

Her transcendent beauty and unmatched talent in cultivation had made her the most desirable woman in past decade. Even within Nine Moon Sect, she was the most treasured disciple and they spared no effort in supporting her. There has even been talks about her receiving training to become their Matriarch!

That's precisely why no would would ever dream or imagine that a person of her status would be locked up in a room with her limbs shackled. Yet it was a fact that she was Mystic Fairy of Nine Moon Sect.

As she heard the creaking of the door, she lifted her face and faced the one she was destined to hate for all eternity. Why wouldn't she? At one moment, she was diligently cultivating in her chamber and next, she was witnessing the merciless massacre of seniors, elders, and martial sisters.

Even her master, who she believed to be peerless was ripped into pieces almost effortlessly. All the while, she could only watch as one of the raiders had subdued her at the very start. It was as if they intended for her to witness it. Just who could be so wretched?

Her cold and maddening eyes met with three people. One was the women she instantly recognised. Dressed in tight black clothing… she was the one! The one who killed her master!

"You! I'll kill you one day!" Before she could control herself, her mouth moved and a hateful curse flew out. Her baleful yet silvery tone signified that although she had lost everything, she has yet to lose her will.

Her rage rose further when she spotted the traces of pity and contrition appearing on tight black clothed woman's face. Why are you feeling pity?! Why are you casting that look of apology after what you did!

Just then she heard an amused whistle. She shifted her eyes and looked at the man who was scrutinising her in fond amusement.

Contrary to black clothed lady, there was no amount of pity or regret in his face, just pure amusement. It was as if he found her interesting. And it might've been her hallucinations but she could've swore that his purple eyes were glowing. In this mildly lit room, he looked strangely… devilsh.

He was also incredibly handsome. Even words like unearthly, unbelievably or unfathomably couldn't aptly describe his facial features. However, she couldn't care less about it. She has given herself to cultivation and she desired to reach the peak, she had no interest in a man whatsoever. She had never been interested in a man before and she never will.

The man gave her charming smile as he starts in poised manner, "Miss Mystic Fairy, it's truly unfortunate that we had to meet under such conditions. I am also not pleased but unique circumstances demands unique solutions."

"What circumstance would require the destruction of my Sect? Why did she had to do that?" Mystic Fairy glared coldly.

The man's smile didn't falter. He raised his hand and surprisingly, pointed at himself and said casually, "You are mistaken. The root cause for the destruction of your Nine Moon Sect was me. She's just a means to achieve that."

As he finished speaking, Mystic Fairy graceful body trembled as uncontrollable rage appeared on her face. Her eyes turned livid. She tried to gather her Spiritual Energy and decimate this person for once and for all. However, to her horror, she discovered that all of her Spiritual Energy was sealed. Her eyes flickered towards the last person in the room and astonishment flashed within them immediately.

'This person… just what is she? Is she a ghost or immortal?' She understood that it was her who sealed her Spiritual Energy yet she couldn't feel an ounce of Spiritual Energy leaking out of her. Even her existence itself felt vague until she focused at her. She was wearing a purple mask so she couldn't even see her face.
