War Chief

Michael woke up to the noise of people surrounding him. As he opened his eyes, people cheered in relief. He had no clue about why many people was gathered, the last thing he recalled was that he collapsed from exhaustion and stress. After being awoken, he stood up quickly and gasped heavily. It turns out that what happened with that deity was not a mere dream. A woman with dark yet majestic long hair approached him and worriedly said

"Cadmael, why did you disappear yesterday to only be found lying unconscious outside of Goddess Alaghom-Naom-Tzentel's shrine?"

He just stood there processing the current situation looking very confused. He thought about many things to himself.

"Huh? Who's this woman. She seems close to the person who hosted this body before."

"Cadmael... my name is Michael but I guess thats my new name now. Interesting, so it means War Chief"

"WAIT WHAT?!?, I'M A WAR CHIEF NOW?, IS THAT WHY SO MANY GUARDS ARE SURROUNDING ME? This is absurd"

"As I can remember from my previous life, Alaghom-Naom-Tzentel also known as Ixtat-Ix, is a goddess of thought and intellect. Lets call her Ixie for short"

The woman was still waiting for an answer but he did not reply because he needed to clarify some things. Also, replying inappropriately may lead to misunderstandings. The guy who was previously known as Michael is now Cadmael. He went out of the crowd and ignored the woman. He continued to stroll in the city until he finally found his way to the shrine of the goddess. In the distance, he saw something glowing.

"Wait, could that be..."

As he approached closer, Cadmael spotted the scroll to which he dropped before. He observed its strange radiance.

"Its the scroll, but why is it shining"

Cadmael opened it and a golden flame lit, erasing the previous message that he received before. The flame dim itself and dissipated into the scroll. Then, a new message was inscribed. It contained a guide.

"Cadmael, is both your name and your calling. You are not alone. You have a single blood relative which is your sister. She is Sacniete. Her pale skin, with strikingly beautiful long black hair makes her easily distinguishable from others. Your family, which was a bloodline who served the rulers of this civilization since the beginning, died out of service in the war with the Aztecs. Leaving you, and your sister behind. For now, learn more about yourself. Venture into the South of the city, and there will be a deep rainforest, find a cave, with runes written on it, for you will meet an old hermit.Talk to him, and ask for his knowledge so you may be enlightened."

Once again, he returned the scroll which was placed in his sash, and set out to journey to the South. Cadmael went back to his sister, and before he got to explain himself. Her sister, while crying, lashed out to her and said

"Why are you acting so strange. First, you disappear all of a sudden, and now you look like you're going to travel into nowhere. Have you got no conscience for your sister? Listen, you're my only family left. If you were to die. then what would be left of me? I know you're very strong, but don't be reckless."

Despite not knowing what his body's previous life was, he felt ashamed of himself. Cadmael replied

"Look, I'm truly sorry for making you worry. And I apologize for not being able to explain it myself. I promise that I will return soon enough so please have faith in me."

Sacniete, who was the only one who really understood his brother, was confused for the first time. She just quickly left while holding her tears.

"H-hey"

Cadmael tried calling out to her but she purposely ignored him.

"Nevermind"

He thought.

"You stupid older brother, can't you even take consideration for what I feel"

She muttered to herself.

After the encounter, He wondered what kind of person Cadmael was. He looked at the surroundings and saw the bustling city market full of people and merchants. He walked closely and saw a bunch of elixirs and potions. He was bewildered because in the modern times, those things only existed in fictitious work like games. As he continued to stroll, he discovered that people were capable of using some kind of magic. Cadmael remembered his past life and doubted the knowledge that he had studied.

"Is what I'm seeing now, REAL? I-is this magic? DOES PHYSICS NOT EXIST IN THE PAST? IS MY WHOLE LIFE JUST A LIE?

Cadmael asked many questions in his mind. As he reached the border in the city, he had prepared himself to venture out in the wild.

"To the South, here I go"
