40 A Level Five's Power!

"What?!" Lian's words scared everyone out of their wits. However, they quickly understood why. Braga was a very experienced Level Three Star Energy Warrior. Since he was eaten by the creature, it was obviously much stronger. That was especially so since all the members of his group were gone as well. Even a Level Four Star Energy Creature wouldn't be able to win that easily. Well, they were wrong as to how Lian found out about that, though.

The creature seemed to be some kind of mix of a bat and a black panther. It had a strange pair of bulged white eyes, making it look even weirder. However, no one there knew what that Star Energy Creature was called as they had never seen it before. All they knew was that the situation wasn't good.

"Retreat!" Tuly immediately turned around before grabbing Grisa and speeding away... or so he tried.

Suddenly, the creature's eyes turned in their direction.

*Vup!*

*Ptssch!*

It was then that a stake passed through his chest, leaving a big hole there.

*Thud!*

Tuly immediately fell to the ground as the light disappeared from his eyes. He was as dead as any person could be.

Behind, the Star Energy Creature's tail was pointed up as one could see several more of those stakes were attached to its end. Anyone could tell that the creature killed Tuly without even moving from its position.

Grisa's complexion became paler in response to that as she immediately tried to run away. Of course, she wasn't the only one. Blan, Hira, Jaruo, Kavit, Duran, Carol, Lian... they all began to run away as well.

*Roar!*

The creature's tail lashed out once more as more stakes shot out at extremely high speeds!

*Vup, vup, vup...*

Jaruo, Kavit, and Duran were the next ones to be targeted. Jaruo and Kavit were hit in the chest and received holes as big as the one on Tuly's. As for Grisa, she didn't even have a head anymore. The stake passed right through it.

"Duran!" Lian and Carol were terrified as they were running with Duran just a moment ago. Immediately after, Lian saw how Duran's crown was detached from his head and started to absorb the energy which Duran's body was turning into.

Yet, Lian tried to grab Carol's hand as they couldn't stop there.

*Zash!*

The creature wouldn't just watch as the rest ran away, of course. It saw how Blan, who was on the Cubi's back, was the fastest one at running. Because of that, it pounced forward, covering tens of meters with each move. Finally, it jumped.

*Bang!*

It fell right in front of Blan and Hira before rotating its body and whipping its tail a full 360 degrees. Let alone Blan and Hira, the trees around were all smashed to bits by the creature's tails! Even Blan's mount was no exception to the destruction.

*Arrrrgghhh!*

"Fuck!"

Lian could only curse as he pulled Carol with him as fast as he could. He even overexerted the Star Energy he could drive through his body, just like Lugg had done when they arrived in this world. If he continued like that, he might explode right there and then.

Sure enough, it didn't take long for the creature to look in their direction.

-Lian, you'll never be able to outrun that thing!- It was then that Lugg warned Lian. The only good thing was that Lian and Lugg's mental conversation could be done in a flash, so not much time had passed.

'Then what?! Stay here and wait to be killed?! There's no way I can fight that thing! Tuly, a Level Three Star Energy Warrior, died in less than a second! It's a Level Five!!!'

'Ah!' Lian was taken aback for a moment.

For a moment, Lian felt like his heart had stopped. Just a single move of the creature in front of them, and they would be joining the others in the afterlife.

However, it was then that the creature's eyes shifted back to where the Tricolor Flowers were located. There, its ears caught the Krouses approaching the flowers once again since there wasn't anyone close to it.

It instantly jumped once again, hitting both Lian and Carol with its body as it rushed back to the flowers. From the looks of it, the creature considered the flowers to be highly important. It didn't even pay attention to the two humans that its body just sent flying.

Fortunately, neither Lian nor Carol were its targets when it jumped. So after the two rolled on the ground for a few meters, they only suffered some minor injuries.

Lian and Carol then looked in the distance as the creature started to slash its claws and tail everywhere to get rid of the Krouses. It also executed its moves carefully, avoiding the Tricolor Flowers around it.

Lugg's voice immediately echoed in Lian's mind. -Don't waste time. Slowly get up and take Carol with you. This is your chance!-

Lian slightly nodded as he got close to Carol, who couldn't move due to fear anyway. He could only whisper in her ears, 'Try to control yourself. If we don't move away now, we will end up just like everyone else. Stand up slowly and move away from the creature with me. Don't worry, we'll be fine.' Well, even Lian didn't quite believe his final words.
